  • Crazy

  • thumbs up if the battery still goes strong in your blood for \M/etal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If you pay close attention, the editing in this show is terrible. Kirk plays riffs that are from a different song, Jason has a different shirt and guitar. lol

  • God, the energy felt that night. Must have been fucking crazy.

  • Lars fucking Ulrich, looking back at this he was such a crazy good drummer and he can still play. Metallica forever!

  • battery !!!!

  • How can anyone watch shit like XFactor and "Talent" shows such as that when you get Performances like this?? this world is one sick place :/

  • YOu guys are retarded especially you Chestus, Punk rock played this fast WAY before metallica and so did rob reiner of Anvil

  • @irpoytress ya but punk rock lacks the hardout metal riffs that make the double time drumming actually sound good

  • This was the 1st song I heard from them, now...I jiss keep on listening to them :)

  • Thumbs up if you noticed that at 3:47 Jason has a tan bass, then at 4:07 he has a black bass, then at 4:17 he has the tan bass again.

  • @Megadeth666tb

Seattle was a mix of 3 different shows i believe .

  • @oBASEo Seattle was 3 days and Mexico City was 2 days I think; correct me if I'm wrong

  • @Megadeth666 That was james dumbass.lmfao

  • @Megadeth666tb It was james, not jason lol.

  • @S474N5R3V3R3NC3 No it was Jason because James was only using the black explorer. There is a brief second you can clearly see Jason playing a black bass but then it switches lol. Poor video editing.

  • Greatest metal show in history

  • Golden age.

  • Back before Lars and Kirk become sloppy/Lazy, they are still pretty good today but not this tight anymore.

  • creeping death solo at the end, an fight fire with fire ending

  • Ok fine this was their prime. But james is obviously the most incredible/the "metal" in this band.

  • They raped Seattle and left it for dead in 1989. Holy fuck.

  • lars: sucks

    kirk:sucks

    jason:ehhh

    why is metallica so big?

james hetfeild has got to be one of the most incredible musician/performers/ singing guitar players to walk the eart

im a huge metallica fan and i know that when talking about talent...it was all in the hetfeild, my biggest inspiration of all time

  • @jew25624 back then, lars and kirk was great.

  • @jew25624 whats an "eart"?

  • @jew25624 fuck off

  • @jew25624 you honestly think that they all suck except hetfield? lars, hammet, and jason were big influences on metallica and a true metallica fan knows it, you my friend is ignorant and musically retarded

  • @jew25624 suck harder james isnt done yet

  • @jew25624 Nah they were all great. Cliff and Dave too. But Metallica just lost their balls... they got rich for some reason are not motivated anymore to create violent aggressive music. So sad what money can do to you =(

  • @jew25624 You're fucking retarded

  • @sicone79

LOL on GH WoR I've DL the Metallica pack and I play it at 94% in expert+ :P

  • best metal performance ever without a doubt...and i'm a die hard megadeth fan

  • @ka8isterimeno bullshit. thumbs whore.

  • who says lars sucks at drums? people seem to forget that he fucked shit up during the late 80's to mid 90's then he changed his style a little, toning it down on the ridiculous double bass fills (which i love)

  • if you enjoy the rock band games download Battery and try it on the drums. i had to practice for about twenty minutes just to play it on medium

  • my balls exploded during Kirks insane solo

  • No one headbangs like Jason.

  • ZOMFG 2:39! i know lars gets some hate about his drumming but that is fucking INSANE speed.

  • @NickW0608 i dont get why people think lars sucks... its a shame :(

  • @ravens4life55 i admit lars doesnt play as agressive as he did when he was young, but hes still a monster drummber. and on top of that hes the drummer of METALLICA. i dont think anybody can say he sucks with that title.

  • @NickW0608 cant go wrong with metallica :D

  • in terms of beats per min ,is dyers eve faster than battery?

  • @abhs6 Depends if you're talking about on the record? Or live.

  • @TheDefiancy no m talkin about the studio version coz i know this sounds pretty fast.

  • @abhs6 on the record I'm pretty sure it's the same.....this is definitely faster than the record, and Dyers Eve is slower cause Lars doesn't play it properly anymore

  • THRASH!!!

  • Fkn annihilation of the drums...go Lars

  • Click here for my video of Master of Puppets -------> watch?v=kQke1-RpVTY

Enjoy (Seattle + Studio Version) Best Audio ;)

  • God damn, James sings this well!

  • holy shiit they sped this up! Its hard enough to play this song normal speed. James' kicks ass for playing this fast AND singing <3

  • James Hetfield is the coolest motherfucker to step on this planet xD

  • 3:46 MOST INSANE HEADBANG EVER!!!

  • 0:57 FUK EM UP!!!!

  • 2:50 Lars is ffuuuuccckkkkkinngggg beast

  • nobody can write gay comments like ryuhirata1

  • 0:56 James' guitar says "FUCK EM UP" on it

  • FUCK YEAH!

  • Did his voice crack a little at 0:36?

Makes you remember how young they were when they got so famous. They just looked so old for their age

  • kurt cobain was at this concert. In an interview kirk hammett talks about it.

  • people forget how young metallica was back then. Jame's beard adds 10 years to his face.

  • lars fucking created the band u fuckin retard

  • 230 temp!!!!!!!!

  • lars sucks ass dave lombardo i faster and coller lars just ruined the band !

  • @jouerdelacave if he sucked then he wouldn't be in the greatest metal band ever fuckstain .

  • where can i download the 89 collection?

  • The best battery performance i've ever heard

  • not that i wouldnt go see metallica in real life and not that i have anything against "new metallica" (which after death magnetic is done) and not that it wouldnt be awesome. but metallica has lost its edge and energy

  • Comment removed

  • @ryuhirata1 i don't think so xD

    watch?v=CBZtRtw-2cE

although they don't have guitar solos

  • @wallytalivan LOL

  • @ryuhirata1 Thats why they are going to live forever ;) ROCK ON!

  • @ryuhirata1

Lars isn't that fast on the double bass.

Not just that, I crossed his Dyers eve tempo of 194 bpm two years ago at the age of 18.

    My fastest is 220.

Lars can't even play Dyers Eve live.

  • @the666doppelganger Great job

  • @the666doppelganger Love to see you hold that 220bpm for 18 songs 5 minutes each.

  • @RainingBlood15

    That isn't easy.

I can do it for 6 or 7 mins continuous before my legs start dying.

But songs never need continuous double ever.

I have done a half an hour show with Lamb Of God and Avenged Sevenfold covers though.

That stuff is way tougher than Metallica.

I'll post a video in 2 or 3 weeks for proof.

    :-)

  • @the666doppelganger Yea, A7x uses a little more double bass then Metallica. Lamb of God uses a lot. Ive only played drums twice in my life and neither had double bass so. Cool ill look forward 2 it.

  • @the666doppelganger I'm the biggest Metallica fan out there and I love them to death, but I will agree with you, Lars is not that great, not in the top 10 drummers of all-tim, maybe not even the top 20.

  • @SullivanandFriends

One thing for sure though is that Lars has a crazy right hand.

I can't keep up with that for over 20 minutes.

  • @the666doppelganger Interesting note that not a lot of people don't know about, that I read in the latest 'tallica bio by Mick Wall: In the summer of '86 shortly before Cliff's death, Cliff and James were thinking of asking Dave Lombardo to join Metallica and kick Lars out. Lars didn't have exclusive rights to the name yet and Lombardo has said he would've said yes as he was on a leave from Slayer at the time. Imagine 'tallica with Lombardo, though we did get a taste of it in 2004

  • @SullivanandFriends i know its a crazy what if, but imagine metallica if they never booted mustaine, cliff never died and they replaced lars with dave... they would be the most talented, ass kicking band of all time

  • @j0U5Hb0XXX We can only imagine......

  • @j0U5Hb0XXX lol dave doesnt play drums buddy. So your thinking of kirk haha

  • @SoIceyGoonSquad420 you big silly, i meant dave lambardo from slayer

  • @the666doppelganger ok, that's cool and all, but at least recognize that back in lar's day, a song like dyer's eve was pretty damned revolutionary. Obviously after the 80's people would play harder and faster, but faster drummers would not exist if guys like lars and dave lombardo hadn't paved the way first. You might have outdone lars at 18 today, but keep in mind how revolutionary and fast thrash metal drumming, including that of Lars, was when he was 18. Nobody ever heard drumming that fast

  • @ryuhirata1 /watch?v=9bdlQ0VIUtA

Do you still believe that Lars is the fastest drummer ?

  • @MetalPat90 No, Lombardo is, but in in 80 Lars rocked the world. Today it's "Lazy" Ulrich

  • @ryuhirata1 /watch?v=dvr2nuvtCpQ

  • @ryuhirata1 /watch?v=xRPOE7-1vAU&feature=related

  • @ryuhirata1 actually there's like thousands of drummers that can play double bass much better and can play much faster than lars...he isn't that good. but i still love metallica!

  • @ThrashmetalFl for someone that doesnt use triggers that is fucking fast though! lol but i know there are much better drummers than lars but he always gives 110% every time he plays

  • @ryuhirata1 metallica is metallica. but there are so many bands... that kicks your ass so hard, that you thinking omfg what is this?! you know Razor? or Morbit Saint?

  • Cliff Burton headbanged way more than jason

  • @gamja15 Well technically no since Jason was in the band much longer. Nothing against Cliff.

  • look at lars go

  • Nobody can take this performance away from them.

  • Metallica Fucking RoX!!!!

  • one of their best song!one of their best live!

  • what is up with the missing wristbands at 1:18?

  • @rayven1lk He only wears the wristbands to cover up a bad burn on his wrist after the GnR tour. And he wasn't burned in this video.

  • @uiet1123 that's not true, he wears them for the same reason I do: because he sweats and sweat leaves salt on the guitar. and as watch the video closely, he IS wearing wristbands at the start of the video so I guess that's a mistery, why the wristband is missing.

  • @vladm1994 Ok, got it. But the burn is still one reason. There's an article about it in Guitar World.

  • @uiet1123 ok :)

  • @vladm1994 the secret of the missing wristband is probably because the clips are taking from shows on different nights but at the same venue and thats how the dvd was put together, and hetfield probably couldnt be arsed wearing wristbands on one of the shows

  • @rayven1lk they recorded 2 nights and mixed them together, theres spots where theyll have different guitars and shirts in a song, 80s for ya

  • @rayven1lk Editing footage of two nights together

  • @rayven1lk They probably edited several shows worth of footage together, that's what bands tend to do when making live dvd's

  • @rayven1lk this consert are recordings of 2 shows done over 2 nights so the are som mixing of footage frome those shows...in bredfan f.eg you can see kirk use diffrent guitars all the time..espesial during the solo

  • @rayven1lk This was filmed over two nights due , i think they put both nights footage together to make it look FUCKING AWESOME !!!!!!!!

  • THIS VIDEO DESERVES MORE FUCKING VIEWS!!!!!!!!!!

  • 2:16 Satan?

    Best. Performance. Ever.

  • 1:45 I Whip my hair back and forth. lol

  • no one plays like metallica

  • metallica plays their fastest live nowadays... don't believe me? check out seattle 1989 master to nimes 2009 master.

EXCEPT THIS SONG!!!! holy shit they decided to play this on megaspeed. fuck yea!

  • 0:14-0:16 best sream ever!

  • 89? holy shit that almost historical

  • choose rob for bass player in 'tallica was bigger failure than makin st. Anger ...

  • I love Lar's headbanging when he plays the drums, like at 2:23

  • Can Lars walk after that twin playing?

  • Lars at his absolute best. Fuck that, Metallica at its absolute best!

  • fucking crazy bass fill from 2:37-2:51 by lars...

damn, wish he could play like this today

  • Is it weird that this relaxes me?

  • @iSpitHotFire1993 nope. I think. Cuz ı relax too :D

  • i wish i had hair like jasons, mine is too curly

  • Some BEAUTIFUL windmilling from Jason at 3:46 =P

  • and at the end a drum solo by Lars HAHAHAAHA

  • HOLY FUCK i had the sound and my headphone sound at the highets sound and it felt like my fucking ears blowed up..but i liked it

  • they sould film Jasons headbang in Time Warp so we can se it slowmo :D

  • i think this is one of the bests "Battery" i hear in my fucking life

  • about 50,000 people jizzed themselves to Kirk's solo.

  • how the fuck can lars play this song?

  • 0:59 to 1:03 are the thrashiest 4 seconds I've ever heard in my whole fucking life !

  • I think they should rename the song to "Motherfucking legendary Battery", cause that's what it is!

  • sped up as usual in their old live concerts \,,/

  • golden era for Metallica

  • DOUBLE BASS!!!!!! THAT'S SO GOOOOOOOOD!!!!!! *earcumming*

  • @nickandbilly actually it is spelled lombardo.

  • Amazing!

  • 00:01

  • Very few bands come along where every musician in the band is a living legend. Metallica juat happens to be one of those bands.

  • they should play whiplash at this speed

  • This METALLICA !!!!! JASON, LARS, KIRK, JAMES !!!! COME BACK AND DRUNK FOR US !!!!! the best metal ever can survive...but they are not so agresive like this concert...anyway...ROCK ON !!!!

  • the double bass after the solo is fast as shit haha

  • Lars was so fucking fast here

  • Even though I hate slayer, Lombardi is still better Urlich. But Lars is still a hell of a drummer.

  • @0kill13 as far as speed goes Lombardi is faster than lars but lars in my opinion creates more unique rythems than Lombardi.

  • @nickanbilly lars doesnt do anything extremely amazing on the double bass. but this of course was a time were double bass and music like this was new, so nobody was really doing anything amazing by todays standards. look at slayers angel of death. that song really helped to kick start the idea, but even still it was mostly straight through. Lombardo has advanced his technique to use double bass in a different way, and lars has moved away from it a bit favoring better fills on his hands

  • @gerbile3 Motorheads overkill was the first song to really use double bass drumming in metal, and Lars was uing DB drumming way before Dave Lombardo, listen to kill em all "four horsemen" and ride the lightning songs " FFWF and "trapped under ice" 2 - 3 years before reign in blood came out, lars in the pioneer of thrash metal drumming.

  • @THEGATHERING20 actually back in the day ozzy osbourne's band around 1980 used double bass but just a bit no one understood it actually there's double bass in ride the lightning, call of ktulu fade to black and trapped under ice too but its too bad you can hardly hear it. the first songs where u could really identify the double bass and where it was very fast were battery and leper mesiah the master of puppets was released before reign in blood.

  • @MrDR7no Motorhead are older than ozzys own band, and were the first band to properly use double bass they paved the way for thrash metal. yeah ride the lightning has plenty of songs with DB, even song on kill em all you can hear it lol, either way lars was a beast back in the 80s but really has slowed down with age, lombardo still manages to play fast, but plays much shorter sets than lars does so he has more energy.

  • @THEGATHERING20 Couldn't have said it any better.

  • @MrDR7no Dude, I think you forgot that big break in Fight Fire with Fire where all there is is Double Bass.

  • @mangosnake i know but its too bad it isnt too loud .

  • @THEGATHERING20 no no no. im saying these songs kick started it. why? i really have no idea.

  • @nickanbilly he is called Lombardo llooooooool

    Lombardi sounds like Renaissance

  • @0kill13 Lombardi? Haahaha. Dude, how can you hate Slayer?

  • why is everyone so hard for Jason o.O i personally think Rob is a FAR better bass player

  • @DruumStixx Jason is a BAMF, that's why.

  • @DruumStixx

i think rob's a better bassist too, but jason absolutely owned the backup vocals and just generally made for a more entertaining performance

  • 3:47 OMG Jason`s Speed Hack xD

  • look how much fucking energy they ALL have, and these bastards still have it!!!!! cliff would have loved this album!

  • FUCKING BATTERY

    YEAHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • listen to that double bass pedal

  • this is metallica in a great shape. the speed man. awesome.

  • jason at 3:44 !!!! Godlike even !

  • FUCK YEAH !!!!!

  • what the hell happened to metallica?! lars doesn't use the double bass pedals anymore, he suck and hetfield sing like a chiken, i hope the original metallica return becuse the new one is a sh***t. this perfomace is awesome! the best metallica ever 1983-1989

  • @net34a the best metallica ever is 1981-present lars does use the double bass

  • @net34a I agree. but its called being in your 40-50's. Their bodies simply can't repeat that kind of speed and power like they could 20 years ago.

  • @plutarch78 man, dave lombardo is older than ulrich, and he use the double bass pedal, its obvious that ulrich simply doesn't want to use the pedals anymore

  • @net34a The "original" Metallica is James, Lars, Dave Mustaine & Ron McGovney. I wouldn't hold out hope for a reunion. Lars is a douche, but he has NEVER sucked at drumming, nor has he given up the double-kick. James is almost 50, and his onstage responsibilities would still reduce most 20-year-olds to dust. Cut him a damn break. "Death Magnetic" is fantastic, also. Mostly.

  • @NIMHFS listen dude GO FUCK YOURSELF
