Most saber pics & videos are misleading, either by accident or on purpose. Your camera must be set-up to not allow the light to saturate it. There shouldn't be a "white core" ever. If there is, it's misleading. Even a Hyperblade doesn't have a "white core" in person, but they are so bright it's difficult to avoid it on camera. I try & make sure my vids are real to what you will see. The answer is no, currently no saber bright enough to have a "white core". Hyperblades are the brightest
jedibum sorry for all the hoopla i got a question, today i went to the store and actually had a chance to turn on the vader and obi wan MR/hasbro sabers and i really wasnt impressed i mean it was so dim it looked more colored than illuminated when on, it was daytime inside a toysrus, are Hypers really different compared to MR in those settings you think?

Problem is hyperblade doesn't sell hilts. They are more for people who are going to make their own. I don't think it's worth it to build your own and get into all this stuff if you can only afford to spend a few hundred on a single saber and don't plan on buying any more.
Hyperblades are high end collectibles like any other high end collectible. In the custom saber world if your budget is in the low hundreds than you are only going to get MR and Hasbro. Even a top-of-the-line Luxeon based custom saber with all the best bells and whistles will cost you between $500 - $1000. It's not just Hyperblades that are expensive. All high end sabers are expensive ... so they all share the same problem.

That's why they are so cheap ... just an aluminum pipe or a PVC pipe ... no character no interesing design. It's as close to a flashlight as you can get. We are talking about the kind of sabers that cost a lot to design, build, and then install with top quality electronics ... including custom sound.
Not sure what you mean, if you mean battery life than it just depends on what kind of batteries you use and what kind of electronics you use ... battery life can vary greatly.

Also, shepherd neo is correct. You'll get a more accurate shot of what a luxV can really do w/ an ultra edge blade. It simply presents more measurable surface lumens than ervs blade. Don't get me wrong, the core effect rocks, but for a brightness comparison, ultra edge wins out slightly.
Hyperblade is still brighter, but the difference becomes more negligible w/ the right blade setup for brightness.
Are you joking? The Luxeon V has a blade built by Erv ... there's nothing wrong with it. The Hyperblade is so bright it doesn't matter what you do to the Luxeon. Check out Eandori's brightness test if you need help with this.

Ahhh no no m8... I know Hyperblade is better bright and if the saber is of Erv is amazing... But have you seen the new Ultraedge? it's AMAZING with Luxeon V... More more better of UltraFX or Corbin Film!!!!
The one in the middle looks brilliant, the sound when you turn that on is just immense. I have 2 MasterFXs but none of them make that ignition sound...
i really want to know where to get the different styles of sabers. not just the hyper things, but where did you get the other two. i own the luke saber from new hope, but i don't just want major characters, i want some you wouldn't see as much. please tell, i want to star collecting:)
The Hyperblade is a DIY lightsaber. You buy all the internal components from them (Blade, Tubing, Driver, Sound, Battery, Recharger) and then you install it in your own hilt. Retrofitting is if you have a lightsaber hilt(like a Master Replicas FX) and you want them to install it for you.

Excellent observation! It's very true, if you are looking for the closest possible match in brightness to a real lightsaber you have to go with a Hyperblade.
MR's are good, i like some of the custom sabers out there, but seriously do u actually have the need for a lightsaber almost as bright as the freakin sun, dunno why makers like hyperdyne focus so much on the brightness of the blade

The Hyperblade may seem too bright to you, but even the super bright Hyperblade has barely reached the level of brightness that is seen in the actual Star Wars films
Hyperdyne first focused on his saber sound tech ten years ago. That's how he got the attention of Ben Burtt. The blade wasn't developed until much latter. Your question is like asking why have a faster internet connection. Or who the heck would watch videos on their computer.

Yes it is. It was built by Erv. He used mostly MHS parts from TCSS, except for the clamp. The clamp is real, the blue LED's are custom made by Erv. They sit underneath the clamps bubble strip.
It's cool. It takes a lot of guts to do what you're doing. I know you may get a lot of flack for breaking away from the "status quo." Just ignore it and know it's better to make a pure pesonal decision than an influenced one. Even if it doesn't agree with me or anybody else. As long as your soul accepts it and you made it 100% on yourself. The Force is strong with you.
Hypers are cool and so are Luxeons, but at the end of the day its personal choice, i wouldn't mind a Hyperblade, if i had a choice between a Lux conversion for an MR or a Hyper i would happily go for a Hyper, but like all things they have good things and bad things, as Novastar said they are just toys, theres more important things in life
actually I think its the camera trying to adjust. I've heard that on max brightness you only get like 14mins of runtime though, that must suck. Plus everyone says the sound module is comparable to a really loud hasbro. But with better batteries and a CF v3.0 It could be the ultimate saber, for $1000+ lol.

These sabers look pretty kickass, but for the price, I would expect a little better (potential) customer service. However, I have not ruled out doing a custom saber with hyperdyne electronics.

I hate to sound like a jerk here, and I really don't mean to...BUT Why hasn't Ultra been answering his customer's e-mails lately? Seems odd that he expects his Ebay customers to contact him through a 3rd party, via fx-sabers forum instead of through Ebay. On top of that Ultra also seems to expect Ebay customers to communicate with him indirectly with "liasons" Darth Vader and some guy name Darth Tyranus via the fx-sabers forum.
We believe in direct communication. E-mailing us direct is the best way to get a response from us. Odd you haven't tried this. We don't expect our customers to contact us through third party forums or through homing pigeons. There's probably a reason you (DarthMorbius1977) weren't granted forum access. It doesn't even matter how bright the blade gets. The lightsabers in Star Wars have a totally white core and have an outer glow to them. You can't acheive that unless you heat plasma at 3 million degrees Fahrenheit. And if you do, you'll probably burn yourself.
just thought i'd like to point out, on most cameras these sabers produce the white core effect which some like or dislike, i find it to be a nice touch ;) so they do appear sometimes to have that nice core.
Read the DESCRIPTION carefully please. There is only 1 "MR" (Master Replicas) lightsaber in this video. The BLUE saber is the ONLY "MR" saber. The other 2 sabers are CUSTOM BUILT sabers with CUSTOM ELECTRONICS. The MIDDLE saber has a LUXEON LED and the LEFT saber has HYPERDYNE LABS electronics. Again ... the 2 GREEN sabers are NOT "MR".

The Hyperblade is a DIY lightsaber. You buy all the internal components from them (Blade, Tubing, Driver, Sound, Battery, Recharger) and then you install it in your own hilt. Retrofitting is if you have a lightsaber hilt(like a Master Replicas FX) and you want them to install it for you.

The blue one you can easily get on Ebay. It's just a Master Replicas FX Luke Skywalker ANH saber. The middle one is a custom made Luxeon V saber.

The Hyperblade may seem too bright to you, but even the super bright Hyperblade has barely reached the level of brightness that is seen in the actual Star Wars films

Yes it is. It was built by Erv. He used mostly MHS parts from TCSS, except for the clamp. The clamp is real, the blue LED's are custom made by Erv. They sit underneath the clamps bubble strip.

Hypers are cool and so are Luxeons, but at the end of the day its personal choice, i wouldn't mind a Hyperblade, if i had a choice between a Lux conversion for an MR or a Hyper i would happily go for a Hyper, but like all things they have good things and bad things, as Novastar said they are just toys, theres more important things in life

actually I think its the camera trying to adjust. I've heard that on max brightness you only get like 14mins of runtime though, that must suck. Plus everyone says the sound module is comparable to a really loud hasbro. But with better batteries and a CF v3.0 It could be the ultimate saber, for $1000+ lol.

These sabers look pretty kickass, but for the price, I would expect a little better (potential) customer service. However, I have not ruled out doing a custom saber with hyperdyne electronics.

I hate to sound like a jerk here, and I really don't mean to...BUT Why hasn't Ultra been answering his customer's e-mails lately? Seems odd that he expects his Ebay customers to contact him through a 3rd party, via fx-sabers forum instead of through Ebay. On top of that Ultra also seems to expect Ebay customers to communicate with him indirectly with "liasons" Darth Vader and some guy name Darth Tyranus via the fx-sabers forum.

It doesn't even matter how bright the blade gets. The lightsabers in Star Wars have a totally white core and have an outer glow to them. You can't acheive that unless you heat plasma at 3 million degrees Fahrenheit. And if you do, you'll probably burn yourself.

just thought i'd like to point out, on most cameras these sabers produce the white core effect which some like or dislike, i find it to be a nice touch ;) so they do appear sometimes to have that nice core.

Read the DESCRIPTION carefully please. There is only 1 "MR" (Master Replicas) lightsaber in this video. The BLUE saber is the ONLY "MR" saber. The other 2 sabers are CUSTOM BUILT sabers with CUSTOM ELECTRONICS. The MIDDLE saber has a LUXEON LED and the LEFT saber has HYPERDYNE LABS electronics. Again ... the 2 GREEN sabers are NOT "MR".

Well, you aren't going to get the "correct" sounds without upgrading to the plecterlabs board which has customizable sounds.
There is no way to change the MR sounds without essentially replacing the electronics.
