I was on Vyvanse for 3 months. First 2 months 30mgs daily, last month 50mgs daily. IT SUCKS. Vyvanse DOES NOT in any way last longer than Adderall, nor even is as effective as Adderall. If your doctor recommneds Vyvanse for this particulay reason he is full of shit and i HIGHLY recommend asking him/her to just try Adderall 30mg and then take a 10-20mg IR in the afternoon to keep it going a few few hours.

You are very knowledgeable. However, high dopamine levels induced by a high dose of vyvanse is not likely to temporarily cause schizophrenia. This is because schizophrenia is caused the hypothalamus sending mixed levels of dopamine throughout the brain. And vyvanse also increase "activity" in the frontal lobes due to the reuptake inhibition of dopamine, norepinephrine, and to a lesser extent epinephrine

I don't have ADHD, but i do take vyvanse about once every 2-3 weeks. I don't use or abuse it to get "high", I use it for tests and free response will become alot easier because I'll have ideas shooting out of my head. But the worst part is the loss of appetite. So I chose Vyvanse over other stuff like Adderall, etc. The reason being that is vyvanse is the "pro" drug of adderall, which means it had to go through my kidneys to activate the drug. The amount vyvanse I take is 40m.
