  • I notice he mentions nothing about the good things HC reform does, such as:

    - closing the doughnut hole for seniors

    - eliminating seniors co-payments for preventative care

    - letting insur. co's compete across state lines

    - prohibiting insur. co.'s from discriminating on the basis of gender or pre-existing conditions

    - preventing insur. co's from dropping your coverage if you get sick

    - eliminating the insurance benefit caps

    - mandating clear language in insurance plans

    Why not?

  • Those worthy items can ALL be accomplished without the gov't taking over the system. Nice talking points you got from the DNC, but misses the entire point.

  • The insur. co.s have been in control for decades. The GOP controlled the white house for 8 years & for most of that controlled both houses. They did nothing to fix any of it. If this HC reform bill does not pass, do you really believe you will see any meaningful reform? The system is in crisis. People are suffering and dying from lack of access. Meanwhile, Republicans keep exploiting peoples fears of "big gov't" & "high taxes" to smear HC reform & block it yet again.

  • Suffering? Dying? Lack of access? Where? Has there been an ER that has turned people away from lack of coverage? How many have died, because I have yet to hear the Socialist fear-mongers cite a number. Those fears of "big gov't and high taxes" are already being shown legitimate as Obamessiah tries to convince you HE can live your life better than YOU. I'm sad to see you have bought it.

  • John Hopkins C. C. (Journal of Public Health): Lack of adequate HC care may have contributed to the deaths of some 17,000 US children over the past two decades. .compiled from more than 23 million hosp. records from 37 states between 1988 and 2005..concluded that children w/o health insur.are statistically far more likely to succumb to illnesses than those with medical coverage.

    And thats just the children.

By the way, emerg. wards provide stabilization care, not health care.

  • So you don't think Obamessiah is a proponent of big gov't, huge deficits, and higher taxes? Did you see the story this morning about Senate Dems blanching at the incredible tax increases in the bill? Did you see the election results from Tuesday? Tell you what - keep drinking the koolaid all the way thru the '10 elections and we'll have a classic example of power/arrogance collapsing the house of Botox-injected cards. BTW, it's not a "smear" if it's true.

  • Private HC insurance premiums are going up an average of $1500 per year.

Don't you think that's an extreme tax?

  • Yep. And it's a tax I CHOOSE to pay. Ever try that approach with Federal taxes?

  • Enjoy your skyrocketing premiums.

  • Did you miss the report 2 weeks ago that proclaimed how much premiums would jump if the bill got passed? And why do you think they originally wanted to cram it thru in August? Because upon careful examination, it's a complete sham.

  • The answer to your question is yes.

  • You're very right on this. It has truly getting out of hand...Will no one stand up for our liberty?! Forty years ago I got my butt shot off so the citizens of this country could enjoy their freedom (and draft-dodging!)

Good old ignorant and apathetic (I don't know & I don't care) sheeple....

  • Last night's election results give some hope...perhaps the sheep are stirring in the pen :)

  • are you just realizing she's retarded?

  • She's not retarded if this stuff gets passed. That would make her smarter than the rest of the nation - a very troubling commentary.
