Nope, you need an actual Gamecube controller and a Gamecube memory card, just plug those into the necessary ports and you don't need anything else. :)

I'm just playing my first Gamecube game on the Wii today, and that's a bit counter-intuitive, and I couldn't find it in the instructions. I was afraid to do that and ruin the disk or something, and looked all over for a smaller slot. (I'm a noob)

Wii has perfect mechanisms for accepting small (8cm) discs. I have personally tested this thoroughly. No worries - insert a gamecube disc and play it on wii!

However this does not apply to all slot-loading drives. So far as I know, MacBook and Mac Mini can't handle small discs.
