  • Schism- TOOL

  • no shit hire mudloggers, probably missed the best pay zones too

  • our flair offs look like that....how long did it take the hell fighters to get there? good thing no one was hurt.

  • Oh so they didnt have any mudloggers tisk tisk they're cheap and stupid but they could of warn you guys about this when it happen.

  • hell yeah god save us roughnecks

  • There are other options: Renewable energy, it's been pushed aside for cost reasons but ask yourself what happens when the well runs dry? Nothing lasts forever and if we keep at this pace we're just compiling more dangerous chemicals. Once a wells tapped the works mostly done, alternative energy requires service making a permeant job rather than temp work. These comments made me realize how brainwashed they have USA, open ur mind and weigh things out on ur own not with what media tells you.

  • @boardrfolif3 You know its not just about fuel, if your so against petroleum products then stop using them. First you should look into all the things you'll have to stop using. like your plastic keyboards and your plastic mouse. Don't drive or ride a bike on any asphalt, nor use anything made of paraffin. Go live in a cave and leave us real men to do the work. Please continue to hate the USA. That is of course until someone invades your country and u need the Marines.

  • I wish all the tree hugging earth savers could see this at every gas pump so they know what we go threw to fill there lil rice burners up with gas and warm there ass at night .So they can plot how to put us out of work in a nice warm house

  • @coolbros1210 Totally, lets strip every resource out of this wonderful Earth so when all the dumb roughnecks 10 kids grow up they don't have a single fuel and we see 75% of population die that was kept alive by fossil fuels. It's our duty to work towards renewable if not for us for our children. Instead these soulless idiots feed the big corporation greed. DRILL BABY DRILL, moneys all that matters forget the future thats not our problem. Way to be brainwashed by corporate america, so sad.

  • I was at this rig today. lol

  • Lol got to say am a former Marine and been on rigs for the last 1yr.. not a rough neck but a MPD hand/ specialest etc...I've rough neck alil when were not needed and the rig tripping in or out...most deffently can say roughnecks can keep up with any Marine any day...this looks like they were taking about 4000 to 6000 gas units atleasts could sadly been much more any body know how long they circulated for?

  • @12dunny12 We were still on bottom when we took the kick.

  • No injuries to the workers. Just to the land, the air, the animals, the drinking water and life itself. Good job, boys!

  • @sherryk30 There was no injuries so that's a plus but in all accuality this wasn't that bad. They had a diverter so the rig was safe. The vapor coming up by the rig was just water vapor, no gas. The gas was all burning off, and the people wanted the video to seem more dangerous or that there was more damage than there was. So essentially we saw a gas kick burning off, some chared pipe that was built and inended for that sort of instance or situation, and mud from the snow melting off.Period

  • @sherryk30 start a 1 woman protest & stop using oil & gas then... Your home dosn't need heat anyways, your family will thank you.

  • @sherryk30 Quit using the internet powered by the evil energy companies! People like you are mentally deficient morons. Your ideology is dangerous to anyone who loves living in civilization.

  • Automobile air pollution, automobile noise pollution, day after day. Puppets of the oil / automobile / asphalt industries, free yourselves. • Did the gas detectors not give you a warning?

  • @STPgv01 There were none.

  • Good times!!

  • I hate watching vids like this (yet I torture myself with 'em haha), my man works on the rigs, and I'm always worried that will happen and he'll get hurt. :( But I have to admit, rig guys are the most hardcore guys around! And damn sexy too.

  • @mizzdrunkiie - marines are more hardcore than roughnecks.

  • @bucko60 But roughnecks are sexier.

  • @bucko60 Seen both in action. Marines cant keep up on a rig, had 1 fall off my platform 3 days ago.

  • @bucko60 Lets see how long it takes before a marine asks for hot chocolate while he is soaked head to foot in water in weather that is -48C before the 50km/hr winds are taken into account bringing the temp to -82C. Then put him on the stick with little to no wind cover, then make this for 12 hrs. per day for 8 months straight weekends included. The U.S. should send some of their marines to work on a rig. Then they would be the most effective fighting force in the world.

  • Hmm. Should of pulled the tool pushers butt plug out of his bum and plugged the mouse hole and there for stop the blowout mate

  • god lets hope not, with all the saftey rules you guys have now, but I still dont feel comfortable knowing this could happen to him at anytime, I am thankful for what the ruffnecks provide for us, our gas and oil, but they risk there lives and arent nearly appreciated for it, they have families too

  • that shit is scary as hell and now i get to watch what my old man does everyday and now i am freaked the hell out

  • @XxbloodytearlustxX It's really not as bad as it seems. This kind of thing does not happen every day.

  • @XxbloodytearlustxX I agree, I had no Idea, now I am so worried

  • i was werkn on nabors 6 when that happened, that shits off the hook man..

  • I love how the guy is laughing about him filming it....

And it has over 230,000 views.

  • Wow, unbelievable! I worked for the gas company and experienced over hte years, more than my share of gas explosions! Scarey Stuff for sure. I dam near bit the big one twice! I no longer work for the utilities! I realize this is a well, not a utility gas line but they all pack an unbelievable punch! Can you please tell me who and what this song is thats playing! Great video and tune! Glad everyone made it out ok!

  • @moonshine2280

    Tool - Schism

  • @moonshine2280 NO injuries to Report!

  • @moonshine2280

Hey, bud. I realize your comment is over 6 months old, but to answer your question, this tune is Schism by Tool off the album Aenema.

  • @moonshine2280 this song is by the band Tool I cant remeber the name of the song but just type the lyrics into google

  • @moonshine2280 the song is Vicarious, by Tool :) awsome band,

  • @Choopoleif sorry, i ment schism xD

  • where the fuck was the vac hauler earlier! dog fuckin again

  • Good song = good video

  • hey whats this red button do.........

  • You should put this on oilpatchworld site

  • Half da people here don't no what a diverted is, so here. It's a Hydril on the conductor. The only thing on top of it is about a 15 ft bell nipple. When u close it the 10" line on the side opens and diverters the blowout away from the rig. It is NOT a way to shut a well in. You can't shut wells in on surface. You shoe is only about 60' deep. The gas will just go around the conductor.

  • did the rig partially explode or something, like why was it all black and shit? furthermore, what you guys do in a situation like that?

  • @bassboy923

The rig never did catch fire fortunately. In this particular instance we brought in a premix tank and some pumpers and hooked up to the kelly hose. We mixed barite for 2 days and pumped it down the hole and killed the well.

  • @dlelemental i will take it that the well was never re- opened?

  • @bassboy923 After the well was killed we abandoned it.

  • Diverter, another name for what we used to call a "rotating head"? Been a great many years since I've been there. Took a "safer" job in a control room at a power plant since then...

  • @rabie4x4 Diverter is not a rotating head. It's basically just a bag so that when you take on gas during surface hole you can close it around the pipe and "divert" the gas to your flare tank.

  • hope that flare tank was a rental. haha. Casing is set at various depth depending on the potential pressures later and deeper in the well. If there is high potential for pressure events at deeper depths then more surface casing must be set to prevent leaks and casing ruptures later on.

  • dodgy dark ages shit.

  • how long did it take for it to die out?

  • @SteveFrench306 It was about 3-4 days

  • no connection of line from the flare pit underneath the rig,

  • @SnuffnROOSTER There were flare lines to the flare stack.

  • You guys got lucky, that is a lot of gas coming up from the rigfloor, and a huge fire at the end just past the catwalk.

If I remember correctly, our last hole we never even had a Dirverter for Surface. I can only imagine the fun we would have had.

  • @walperstyle Porbably would have burned the rig down.

  • gas coming out of mouse hole means gas is coming from underneath CMT slap and all around rig, because DRL FLOR is not that high and mouse hole has to be drilled into ground thats why gas came out of it. and if you install BOP and shut it down, you will crater the ground underneath rig, promote internal uncontrolled blow out and lose both rig and location.

    thank you

  • @K4LI4NY4

they had a diverter (an annular and hcr...no pipes or blinds) which last time i checked was a bop and apparently did the job they were designed to do..and blow out's are uncontrolled...kicks are controlled..hence "blow out prevention"...and yes, with poor well control you can cause underground blowouts and frac below the shoe and cause a blow out...well control 101..i'm assuming the diverter was set on a conductor that was set shallow and had poor if any cmt around it.

  • @K4LI4NY4 couldent have said it better myself!

  • lack of well control...

  • @untillirott

    Apparently.

  • i don't know where you drill at but in alberta it isnt uncommon for 600m surface hole

  • @untillirott Wow, i guess u could have a excuse of a diverter lack, or you u could fire ur pit watch!

  • the first rig I worked on was H&R # 6, it was a telescopic double.... I was always told to go and have my smoke at the pit. lol

  • the first rig I worked on was H&R # 6, it was a telescopic double.... I was always told to go and have my smoke at the pit. lol

  • fuck the trippes i worki on you will go down 600-800 meters before intermedet!!!

  • is that just coming out the ground

  • I'm new and I don't know what to do!!!!

  • gas manages to escape to openings not bigger than the gas molecule (in the size of angströms). doesnt need a mouse hole.

  • I used to drill deep Rose-run gas wells with a jack-knife rig. We would light them up on purpose so we could see what we had. Got my right leg blown off when we were trying to unload one being drilled on fluid. Fuckin' mudpump exploded.

  • yall cant be showin danger like this i get drawn to it, i live in texas where theres lots of drilling going on somewhere makes me want to work out there

  • I see... with a surface hole @ 390m this project is a deep one.. nasty gas leak...

  • Did the BOP failed on this?

  • @marburg368 was no bop yet surface hole only useed divertor

  • @Davetallari

    a diverter is a class 1 bop

  • hey ma ddy is on rig 322 or sum shit like tht but yeah them nabors boys look like smurfs lol

  • Thank you diverter.

  • Wow, great vid! Glad I've never had to go through one of those.

  • that is a nabors rig...They are the new F, and M Rigs, they do have derricks like that

  • i thnk its the worst blowout i hv evr seen.

i wud love to roast a chcken over thr.

    yums

  • Nice now imagine two flars like that at the same time and before you ask yes it was two seperators.

  • hey great song for the video!!! and btw.. please dont tell me NAbors rigs are bad luck, my lil bro works on one... GRRRRR!!!!! 4 out of 6 of me and my siblings work in the oilfeild! YEHAW baby!

  • The Band is called Tool and this is a song from the album Lateralus

  • Have done quite a bit of work on the rigs for nabors, and I agree with Jjgraham100 nabors rigs are bad luck. Nomac is the better rigs in my opinion. Luckily they saved that rig with that diverter.

  • Much rather it flares than stink up the countryside with SO4. Man when they stink they really stink.

  • awesome video awesome song wats the song called?

  • This is bizarre...correect me if I'm wrong, but didn't Nabors 19 E have one of the worst blowouts in Alberta history near Drayton Valley in the '90's...Nabors is bad luck..big rigs but shitty luck. I supplied nitrogen to Nabors 21 E back in '94 while it was working for Husky Energy on top of Kananaskis....3 platforms 16 holes per platform...they didn't find shit..only gas and they worn't looking for gas, oil only.

  • Nice vid. Stay safe by's

  • just fucking lucky the gas on the floor never conected to the flare stack...awsome vid..

  • break out the marshmellows n smokies

  • You fucking pussies, mix more Barite.

  • Hey LONEWOLF I am a woman and although tigerbait pissed you off, you pissed me off asswipe. I am a woman in the oil and gas field and without me you'd have no rigs to drill with, for I am one of those designers that never even go near a kitchen. So when insulting an ignorant asshole please leave the woman out of it. I design oil rigs and have for 25 years. PS it takes a good woman to raise a good man. WINK WINK!!!!!

  • @SEXYtexasrose Oh yeah. What kind of rigs?

  • was this in Wyoming?

  • Near Grande Prairie Alberta.

  • What L.S.D was this at?

  • shut er down boys

  • oh yea i work for Badger Pressure Control a snubbing hand i dont work as hard as righands do but we all stick together in most cases

  • It is proven us roughneck provide for all of the lazy ass people and i believe if you can not work on a oilrig or other oilfield outfits than you are either old or a pussy ass bitch im the smallest guy in my company and i work 10 times as hard as you do any day tigerbait1971 try it youll soon find out that we dont do because we have to its because we learn to love what we do just like you love beating your meat to gay fetish porn on the web

  • Kill yourself for being so arrogant.

  • hey tigerbitch why dont you shut the fuck up and try driving your car without us without us how would you get to the gay bar

  • hey tiger bitch why dont you shut the fuck up and try driving your car without us without us how would you get to the gay bar

  • it's a mans world son if you can't handle the heat you might want to stay out of the kitchen are stay in there with the women folks were you belong

  • I feel sorry for anyone that has to roughneck to make a living and think he is making a difference to society. I guess someone has to do it.

  • funny thing about you feeling sorry for roughnecks. I guess you don't like to drive your car around do you? Do you forget the little fact that they provide oil or natural car to power the things you use in almost everyday life. Oh and yes I do work in the patch I'm a mud engineer

  • you fuckin retard. this is the most important industry in the world.

    amd these jobs kickass.

you fuckin white collar prick :D

  • dc tanks represent boys!

  • Where was this site?

  • this was on the noel road wasnt it?

  • K I dont get this at all it looks like the fire is comming from the end of the catwalk? Is there another rig or well on the lease?

  • did you watch the whole video? at the end ya can see it comin from the flair stack plain as day

  • close the rams?

  • Gary Stallman, did at one time push this phukin rig... little hutterite bastard. He pushed it when it was working for talisman in the Chinchaga and Fox Creek. Andy Beaudin was drilling and Will Comeau was the derrick hand.. clown

  • i will never work another day for nabors 342 stitches and staples and 9 broken bones were enough...FUCK NABORS AND GREGG BURBACH!

  • meh just pump some water down in that motherfucker

  • toool or rage???

  • tool - schism

  • kool, thanks

  • it was a nabors rig my old company was on fire watch for this blowout

  • i was working on ensign 112 in the same area when she went

  • if you know anything about nabors you can just look at the rig and tell it is not a nabors rig

  • If you know anything about Nabors, you'de know they bought a bunch of H&R rigs and left them with their original colours. This is Nabors 18, I know the rig very well, and live just north about 40 kms of where this happened.

  • phukin rig... little hutterite bastard. He pushed it when it was working for talisman in the Chinchaga and Fox Creek. Andy Beaudin was drilling and Will Comeau was the derrick hand.. clown..

  • @blown93gt

Nsbors 18 is actually an old H&R rig so obv its not going to be Nabors blue.

  • @dlelemental Why did they drill surface so deep? By 390 meters, they should have been on main hole with the BOP in place.

  • @voisindo Thats actually fairly shallow for the area we were drilling in. Some surface holes are going to 700M. I can't tell you exactly why they do, I never see the drilling program

  • @dlelemental Holy Shit!! I am used to ( when I worked on the rigs - I am a rig mover now) seeing surface to maybe 200 meters. Then again I am used to shallow gas and oil.

  • @dlelemental just like nabors 28 is an old tetonka rig. the big green machine haha

  • @blown93gt thats right. this looks like a oil well servicing rig. which is a double. nabors drilling rigs are triples. and Nabors blue.

  • @MrTinouribe Have you ever seen a drilling rig before? Drilling rigs come in the form of Singles, doubles and triples. And as stated before this is an old H&R rig which was bought by Nabors so it's still H&R colors.

  • @dlelemental Sorry brother, and yes i have seen a drilling rig which was a triple. I worked for Nabors back in the late 1990's. They were based out of Victorville, Texas. I also worked for Pool Oil Well Servicing Company for six years, out of Alice, Texas. My bad in thinking this rig was a double. I'm more familiar with workover rigs that were doubles.

  • Fuck nabors what a fucking worm outfit

  • Fucking worms.

  • Was that little midget clown Gary Stalman pushing the rig when you guys took the kick? If so, it looks like he´s just continuing all the shit he learned at Pirate Drilling. Eat your wheaties shorty.

  • Gary pushes Rig 15... get your facts straight.

  • want to chat?

  • I was on akita 48 about 30 km from this rig when it burned

  • nice video !!! i used to work for nabors mid contental f-26 and im glad that never happend even tho some nights i wanted the rig to burn down !!! lol

  • why you wanted it to burn down? seriously

  • i was jj ... but long nights with a shity driller sucks ....

  • what are you an engineering?

I'm thinking about doing engineering, and working with oil, but I'm not really sure.

Does it sucks to work on an oil platform? If so, how it sucks?

  • no im not a engineer ... just a rig hand ... if u want 2 be an engineer stay in school they make lots of money and dont get dirty ... if you went to a rig you would b in worms corner the lowest man on the rig they will make you do all the shit jobs nobody wants to do ... but you can still have fun its like a grown mans play ground its all what you make of it and how you take people fuckin with you ...

  • HA! Yeah like about 2am on morning tour as you're crashed out on the cotton seed sacks and the driller blows the horn to trip the bit!! AAAH Fuck!

  • A Nabours rig burnt to the ground last summer as well did it not? ? ? ?

  • Well the day after this happened in mid December Nabors 14 burned to the ground.

  • diverters are a good thing haha. i spent a year on that rig, didnt see any fireworks like that though

  • pretty crazy shit. we took a kick not to this scale and boy o boy let me tell you i never seen a 300lb consultent run as fast as he did that day.

  • Wow my Dad Chris Baker owned this ridge and had to kill this fire

  • what are you talking about?

  • yup that was me

  • nope westrange highboy. was one of the last two there i think. hitchem then me

  • I think hitchem left his trailer there aand i unloaded you

  • thats wild i hauled a load of barite out there for powell just after all the cementers and all that showed up, consultant said to get gone, all the good shits gonna happen now lol

  • I was the hoe operater unloading barite there, unless you were one of the first two there.

  • It was about Dec 7th
