I do like the movie, but in my own opinion, it seems rather outdated; the music, sound effects, and other elements seem like it's from the mid 60s through the early 70s. But the clothing seems accurate for the late 70s and early 80s; like bell bottoms, platform shoes, pointy-collared shirts, poofy dresses, you know, the disco-ey clothing. Disney seems to be pretty dated back then.
@jacobzeier And everybody knows that JZ hates Disney and all it stands for. I enjoy your comment. It's very late 90s, with a 1982 twist. Do you like the film Grease, JZ?
@jacobzeier You want to talk dated? Go watch The Barefoot Executive sometime. It's like being bludgeoned in the face repeatedly with a brick wrapped in a leisure suit.
Thanks for posting this! I was 9 years old when this came out. I'm getting to write a book about moms getting together to investigate and scenes from this movie kept coming to mind. All I could remember were the ladies, a priest (Can you tell I was a Catholic?), and the scene where she broke her fingernails! One of my Facebook friends was able to give me the movie title based on that! :)
@mommajenny3 that's funny cuz I was about 12 when this came out but it has remained in my memory as one of the first movies I went to see at a cinema and I always remembered Cloris breaking her nails with the streaking cap on and the false eyelash coming off.
I watched this movie in the 70's I was a 20 year old new mom...and I cant thank you enough for the great walk down memory lane. I wish they made more movies like this.Again thanks ever so much
@Ldym8 I saw this at the movies with my family. I was about to graduate from high school, and my mother died later that year. It was one of the last times we were all together, so it's always been special to me, too. This is the first time I've seen it since then!
Thank you for posting this! For YEARS I've had the ending of this movie in my memory, I just couldn't remember what movie it was from - just that a bunch of people outside a church got down to a groovy 70's song that involved the days of the week!

Whenever we went to my grandmother's house, I'd always ask to watch Bumper Cars. I think we wore out the vhs.

@mrtelevision Groovy ending? that is so 1972! Who the hell would say something like that in 1979? You gotta be kidding me!

I was refering to the psychedelic rock music at the end. You obviously have no taste.
