doly died young because the DNA that they took from the other sheep, well the other sheep was quite old in a way. And dolly is the same age as that other sheep. so she didnt have long time to live anyways

She died of a lung cancer called Jaagsiekte which is fairly common to sheep apparently. Dolly was expected to have a life span of about 11 - 12 years but died at the age of 6. Nobody really knows whether this was because she was a clone or it was natural.
