  • I think NEC/Hudson have to take some of the blame for the TG failure in the west due to the decisions made about the console re-design, the 2 year release delay and the terrible re-packaging of the games amongst other things.

  • I still have my American TG16, still hooked up & played almost daily, and it is still my all-time favorite system (and I have ALL other systems...). I own 90 of the 94 US hu-card games. Not all the games were hits but there were some incredible games in the TG16 roster & it really deserves respect. Those games are really unique and extremely fun, and if people put them down it's because they dont own them & they're just jealous!

  • @xeokym

    Cool story, bro!

  • anther thing people dont realize is that this system was made for a few types of games. shumps, rps, action, board and thos majhong sex games. over all theres a few hundred in japan and games were released all the way up till 1999 (dead fo the brain). now yes theres about 90 something US games but i know theres hundreds in japan. Dracula x is worth ever dollar you pay as are all the 70-100 dollar shooters. i even rationalize buying sapphire for 400 dollars i would just like to see the copy first

  • awsome vid man! people who love the 8 and 16-bit era arnt true fans unless they make their way to the pc engine. im starting to show off my import also on my channel so hopefully we will be able to show people the true awsome ness of the pc engine.

  • lol....saved the BEST for last! nice.

  • wow..the American cover arts are awful

  • Man, you are completely right. PC-engine was a powerful 16-bit system. Too bad that it doesn't have much games, but some games really kicks ass

  • you had Patton on in the background!

  • Sweet! You got some very cool stuff! Street Fighter 2! Cool!

  • I could not believe when I saw the CD of Dracula X. You really have treasures!!

Gradius, Contra and Castlevania are the reasons why I love Konami.

    Thanks man!

  • i have a pc engine duo if you want to buy its 110

  • I was about to say. Yea, gotta cut the video off after Dracula X. No way in hell you could have followed that one up.

  • awesome collection

  • Awesome stuff!!

  • Could you put up annotations for the titles in Japanese if you know what they are?

I'll probably forget about it so please reply to this when you do.

  • I still have a Gamepro from July 1992 that had an ad for Cosmic Fantasy 2.. I always wondered what that game was like and you have it. Is it good?

  • You have an impressive import collection there. I have a lot of turbo grafx hucards, CDroms, and superCDroms, but not nearly as many import games.

  • So boring you decide to make an ass out of yourself by posting stupid shit like that?

  • Who is the bigger ass? The one who made the video, or the one who watched what you called "stupid shit"?

  • Right on. I can't stand when people do that.

  • I think he was calling out Cuntanimation for that ignorant post of his.

  • Nice. I'm about to do my first TG16 vid.

  • Tyrant Multimedia Myspace

I had all the PCengine systems and like 700 cd's

  • i think super nes is the real crap compared with the pc engine. snes have NO game better than Sapphire, dracula X or YS. poor SNES !!!

  • Now that you say that and I think about it, I'm actually surprised now there was no SNES/SFC Soldier shooter let alone the original Star Soldier on the SFC Hudson Caravan Collection

  • I never really understand this niche system...I played most of the games you have there and most of them are total crap...some of them they even wasted useful CD technology to release games that were half the quality of SNES games that were on carts, the console itself was good but then again weaker than even the genesis (which compared to the SNES was crap)...I like some of those games and of course I love DraculaX...even most rpgs and games like that released in Japan were crap...

  • You really believe the PC Engine was a niche system? Over in America, the turbografx 16 wasn't all to popular. But in Japan, this was way more popular than Nintendo's Famicom system.

You can't really compare the PC Engine to the SNES because the PC Engine was pretty much an 8 bit system with 16 bit graphic capabilities. Also, the Snes came out way later than the PC Engine.

You can't really knock NEC because they were the first console to use a CD as a storage medium.

  • I know it was very popular in Japan because they had great games there...but here, most of them didn't come (well, not only here...I wasn't even living in the US back then)...I really like how innovative the systems were but it's not worth it to pay so much for the games...that's the biggest problem...

  • operation wolf...did the duo even have a light gun?

  • Nope. Controller only. BTW great to see you back.

  • V INTAGE

  • Dang dude, watching this video had the same feeling of opening Christmas presents when I was a kid. Gosh , I wish I had a christmas like that!!

  • Oh my gosh!

this is worse then seeing someone looking through your trash for cans LoL!

Seriously man NES are being sold for like a measly 75 bucks and its been like over a decade since they been sold and new NES are still being sold so if you have the actual box it came in with then yea youll make money but if not your a sucker to believe this is an investment

  • How the hell can one man afford all this?

  • Not saying it's a bad thing (actually, I think you're awesome), but you'd have to be sleeping on $1000 bills to afford all those awesome games.

  • Naw, lol I find good deals, alot of patience. I sold my modded XBox to get that Duo-R, and never looked back. Unless it's one of those rare games released 3/4 in the Turbo/PCE's life span (i.e. Dracula X), there's alot of good games that's under $20

  • Sidearms Special and Final Soldier is next on deck!

  • That collection definitely needs Gradius 2 (you've got Gradius 1 and Salamander, so you're covered there), otherwise quite nice, the PC Engine was such an underrated machine. A friend of mine owned one, we'd play the SNES awhile then after that we'd play hours of the little TG-16 machine, great machine (lots of Bonk mainly).

  • Guys I am TERRIBLY sorry about your comments. I forgot I put comment activation on and didn't come back. Those porn bots are killing it for me!!!

  • Would it be too much too ask for an "encore" video with some audio commentary?

There is so much history involved with the system it would be a lot of fun if we could get your thoughts as you showed off your stuff.

  • I actually thought about it at one point, but ideas ran too dry.

  • How about just giving your thoughts on each piece and letting us know why it's in your collection? It might sound cheesy but for other game fans it's often interesting to hear other people's thoughts on our favorites!

  • hey i need bloody wolf and military madness can u hook it up?

  • So did you like Bonk or Air Zonk ? (even though they were totally different games)

  • HOLY CRAP! An un-opened Akumajo Dracula X!? Open it and play it for crying out loud! (Note: Yes, I know its a collectors item)

  • Huh? I beat the game before, I just got my best Castlevania games stored in plastic jackets, that's all

  • Oh, ok.

  • 3:49 Thats on SNES, I'm positive!!

  • Shit if you think this is something go look at my pics on my myspace profile..

    PEESTICKS

I have hundreds of cd's for that system

  • Ahhh, so you're Toneman. I've heard a lot of good things about you. You know, you're missing a VERY important game in your collection: Bomberman '93! What made you decide to show Operation Wolf's manual and the back of some game's case in particular?

  • Oh yeah hehe? You heard from who? The Operation Wolf manual has some nice artwork in it, it's a pretty unique instruction manual since it folds in and out

  • Many sources, but mostly from DigiHatesMakingName's channel comments. I have noticed that the manual folds out before, and I agree it has some nice drawings to it.

  • Ah ok, me and Digi started making vids at the same time. Back then, both of us felt there wasn't enough PCE/Turbografx and Saturn clips around so we the equalizers had to take action. The rest is history.

  • I read a little about that as I was going through his channel comments. It seems that you're his mentor that taught him how to make videos and showed him the way to YouTube. That Tengai Makyo: Fuun Kabuki Den cover makes me think of SuperPCEngineGrafx (AKA Black Tiger). I really see the main character with the blue-striped hair in him!

  • Remember kids in the USA, we scored a point on Japan when it comes to TG/PCE R-Type. Japan's R-Type I and II is actually the original R-Type split on two separate Hucards due to memory. That is why Japan has "R-Type Complete" on CD. We however, got the whole damned game on Turbo Chip.

  • turbo grafx covers are from hell :) Wouldn't have them in my collection apart from nectaris!

  • buy immediately Spriggan :)

  • Good collection, the western cover art are so horrible, just look Valis, BTW you don't have Winds of thunder!

  • Yeah I know...I will in the future though. I need some SOLDIER games too! >.<

  • I`s all about the taste in dominos new cheesy crust pizza!

  • What I find funny about NEC being at war with Sega is the

fact that there were some Sega arcade games being ported to the TG16, like Altered Beast and Space Harrier.

Just out of curiosity, do you know if those were legitimate ports made by Sega or were those ports unauthorized?

  • They're official. Asmik also ported Shinobi to the PCE, but it's missing the bonus rounds and one stage.

  • Ok, thanks for the info, I've always wondered about that.

  • No problem. there's also a CDROM version of Altered Beast, but you can't play it in a Duo without a system 1.0 card. Before the Duo era, there was a huge compatibility maze, requiring people to buy special HuCards to fit the format of that CD. I was once planning a video explaining all that.

  • Great collection. Certainly blows my PC engine collection out of the water.

  • Nice stuff. I just pulled my old Duo out of hibernation and have been playing it again. I only have US games, but do have some rarities (such as the US version of "Cotton"). Most of the games were lackluster but there were a few really great ones. "Blazing Lazers" holds up, as do many of the other shooters. "Moto Roader" and "Bomberman" with five real people are fantastic.

  • It's great for me to hear about someone blowing the dust off that thing. If you catch yourself having too much fun with it, you're invited to the PC Engine FX forums and share it with us!

  • The game you held up that had the snake's head on it- that was called Life Force on the NES, right?

  • "Exactamundo!" Though Life Force is still a great game with the new stages, it was hard to get back into now that I have PCE Salamander

  • Ah yes, Ninja Spirit is my name at the PCEngineFX forums.

  • Ninja_Spirit is the man.

  • Turbo for life.

    SIDEARMS FTW!

  • For some reason, I really feel at ease while watching. It give me that silent watching mental stimulation. And like the guy above stated, the TV in the background adds a nice touch to the vid as well. Nice collection sir.

  • You're right, this is oddly compelling.

  • nice collection. (Dracula X with spine card!! very nice)

I used to have modded turbo grafx with region switch on the side.(gone with flood)

I only have like 4 Hucard/chips now(and some CD based games I took with me).

  • How are you playing American HuCard games on a PC Engine? I thought HuCards are reigon specific.

  • They are. I got a custom installed switch.

  • To think I had plenty of oportunities to get a Turbo rafx and wasted them all...

    *headdesk*

    Great collection, buddy.

  • dope collection dude!! NEC Rules!:)

  • hey if ya getta chance post some videos of that far east of eden game please?

  • Sorry dude I wish I could lol, when it comes to the Eden games, the language barrier is waaayyy too strong!

  • I wish someone would make English patches for the Tengai Makyo games like they did with Ys IV.

  • Your. Not "you're".

  • Heh.. However.. nice collection. However, Tone... you having Bonk in that collection is kickass.

  • Sue me I made a spelling mistake LOL.

  • Wow I was wondering when you would show off you're PC Engine Stuff.
