You are actually really good! Wow:D Your obviously gunna be your own hardest critic, thats the way it always is. Ive been drumming for about two months now and Ive alsso been workin hard. good job!
If i got a camcorder, i could send you some drum lessons and links to good drum websites. However, the sound of my acoustic set (pdp, el cheapo) would override the microphone and it would not sound good. Could put it inside a blanket or pillow or something. Hmmmmm......
Thank you! Yeah, there was some definite improvement recently but it's still slow going. And yes, I know, I still need to get onto those lessons. Although I have been waiting for my hearing to get better from my illness. But it has improved a lot recently, so relatively soon for lessons, I hope.
And so you got the rest of your pads then? Excellent! How are you finding the drumming? Having fun I hope! And when are *you* posting your first drumming progress video?? :-)
@Jayembee1 Yeah, drumming gets a lot of fun :) Now I wait for my new pedal, just ordered DW7000. Now trying to play with noname pedal, which is terrible. I'm not very impressed with native Yamaha's sounds, so I play using EzDrummer for now. Drumming is much more hard than it looks for first look. Also going to buy some camcorder for making drum progress videos :)
@Virtuon777 Yes, it is a tricky thing to learn; trying to dissociate your limbs so they can do different things *and* keep time. But crashing about making a lot of noise is very enjoyable! :-) And yes, the native Yamaha voices are rather variable; the DTX500 module is better but the midi practice tunes are all HORRIBLE! And I recently bought myself a Yamaha FP9500D direct drive bass pedal, which is absolutely excellent. Direct drive is the way to go; smooth and fast, even with heel down!
@Jayembee1 9500D is cool! :) At first I wanted to buy directdrive too (Axis), but got double chained, because I've heard that direct drive might be too light for beginners.
You're definetely getting better. Some new beats. I think you need learn some good tutorials to improve you technic. Try Jojo Mayer's Secret Weapons For The Modern Drummer. I'm trying drumming too, it gets worse :)
