  • The Beginning of the End.

  • They never go 1 second without talking. The whole video is filled with them talking. If I was watching this I would be speechless, but these guys just talk perpetually without having anything substantive to say.

  • The issue last Thurs day is akin to NASA officials when they first see an issue with the O-Rings on a shuttle flight (first time was a good 5 years before Challenger).

Lets hope they fix this issue with the NYSE system faster than NASA fixed its issue, before something truly insane happens.

  • The caption should have read "Dow Drops 28----oh wait 300----no---350---400--500--600!!!---aahhhhh run run its gonna crash aaaah"

  • The Dow would rally to over 14000 8 months later. 2 months later, the recession began.

  • the things i would do to trade during those times.

  • wao dow was at 12000 in sept 29 ......damn

  • About time they let this happen. This is what should have happened decades ago.

America won't be on top much longer, any day now.

  • its coming again

  • oh my God I totally remember Shepard Smith on Fox News reporting this...he was just in shock...I kid you not...and so was I

  • yes,gagho marami ngcnn gami8ts ko9...........

  • Great job cameraman..way on how NOT to catch important market data, like the up vs. dn volume. I bet that was an interesting piece of info too.

  • The account deficit is not really the issue here. Sure the Chinese breakdown may be part of the problem, but their Shanghai and Shenzen markets are very small compared to the U.S. The real issue is the fear of breakdown in the Yen carry trade. As the world's interest rates increase, and doubts about the U.S. housing market and consumer increase, taking cheap Yen and putting them in U.S. equities and treasuries seem less attractive.

  • wow, good call. today 11/18/08 is the first time i have ever heard anyone on the news or more specifically, congress, bring up the issue of account deficit.

  • Biggest drop since September 2001. We are headed back up though thank goodness.

  • Hey dip shits. Who are all fucking broke. I am sure all you losers don't even have a sports car. Dems or Reps. One in the same. stupid sheeple. Fuck. Stupid fucking sheeple.

  • Good time to start buying stocks next week...think like a contrarian and dont get massacred with the panicking sheep.

  • ....What???

  • watch?v=k9S08yf3p9A

  • I really wish I had some clue as to what this all means.

  • "you gave me an std com" if you want to know who is spreading std's in your town

  • omg dow jones got pwned

  • aren't they supposed to be throwing paper up in the air and ripping it up as it goes down?

  • stocks? more cheese please!

  • So, basically.... rich tossers panicking and recouping their losses, average joe eventually gets shafted, so much for democracy

  • If you want to learn and know about "The Midnight Express(film) Truth" much more;please write:

"Midnight Express truth revealed by Alinur Part-1" in the search box and watch it,thank you...

  • holy shit

  • Does anyone here know anything about "NUCLEAR WINTER"? Where will you spend eternity/ You can't take money with you!! Wiil you surrender your life to the Son of God to becoome saved from Hell?

  • so thatz wat canada was when champions tossed frogz

    arghhhhhhhhh

  • I bet KBR and Haliburton are doing well...especially if the Repubs get that new Iraq bill to go through

  • Or we can vote in the dubocrats and watch are taxes go throught the roof and the money disappear ... just like it always does when the butt boys for the mob get in control.

  • since we are recording record deficits and spent nearly a trillion on war, yeah, the butt boys will probably have to raise taxes. I can't believe people are still republican

  • Quick, name three mob bosses during the past 30 years who weren't backing democrats....

  • John Paul the 23rd, Michael Jordan, and Paul Giomati. Go home and suck your mom's dick.

  • Spoken like a true Democratic lightweight. If you're not black, queer, or involved with the mob, you have nothing to offer the Democratic Party.

    I dont understand stocks. T.T

    ^ cosign.

  • who cares just rich bastards shifting money around does not and will not affect me

  • Uh-- riiight. With respect, the only way you're not affected by the markets is if you're living in a cave somewhere in the mountains. It's not just "rich bastards" moving $ around. It's almost every mom and dad out there that's given a thought to preparing for their retirement. Hah. From 2:06-2:21 INDU went up $13! Whoa! A little scary (depends on your POV).

  • The carrots and potatoes growing in my garden are not affected by interest rates. Get some fucking perspective.

  • No, but your mortgage and credit card decisions certainly are.

  • Thanks... Thanks a lot. You completely missed the point. I don't have a mortgage, OR a credit card. But I have a veggie patch. Who do you think will be hit harder by a credit crunch - you, or me?

  • Your asinine choice of words didn't help in making your point. Good luck on making that "veggie patch" bring in enough ROI to put your kids through college and fund your retirement. Just see how much interest your seeds get you. Good luck with that, feet. LOL -- completely nonsensical/irrelevant. Growing vegetables = good earth stewardship. Responsible stock trading = good money stewardship. 'Good to have both.

  • you are a fucking moron... do you think gas prices go up and down for no reason? and i guess the interest rates on your credit card bills and loans.. they just magically define themselves.. right?

  • Um, Japan has been raising interest rates and theres a rumor that China will impose a capital gains tax. So yes, Asia sparked the badly needed CORRECTION.

Gold went down yesterday, signs that the U.S. Dollar is stronger. BTW, China is still a communist country where most live way beneath our middle class standards. LOL at opportunists who think we can just make a market from them.

  • I agree with the correction aspect but: I've been living in China for a while now. I assure you two things 1)China is a very large market for Americans. The people here generally live at a much lower living standard than we do. That doesn't mean they don't buy. Just look western cities with their huge population 2)Bear in mind that China can make America a market too (not a bad thing)

  • Hence, we can increase our market for higher priced goods. But I don't believe it will be at some crazy high rate just due to the high population.

Since our cheap stuff all comes from China anyways, why would they buy the same items from us? I think India and Korea poses better opportunities for a large market, and I only say that because of their governments. Even after we

start paying them back for their treasuries, only a few will get a lot of that money.

  • I dont understand stocks. T.T

  • The sky is falling.

  • I don't "gamble" in the market, but this was exciting news, and it's addicting to watch this type of news live --

  • OMG - I do science not economics lol. I have no idea what they're talking about.

  • I think I would need 10 G's to play with to feel the frenzy. Play with? I don't have that!

  • Wow. YouTube seems to be full of economists.

  • lol, awesome comment

  • but you have to admit, Maria Bartiromo is hot.

  • Those who think a 3% drop is a big deal have not been trading in 2000-2001.

  • buck fush!!!big eared, crack smoking, awol ass coward and his anti-christ vp(cheney)with his 5 time military deferral ass caused this shit to happen.buck fush!!!

  • Not good at all

  • gee, that top 2% who have all the money must be slightly ticked... WHO OF THE NORMALY WORKING JOE GIVES A SHIT ABOUT THIS????

  • get a job you idiot

  • well not really they aren't really ticked at all, since most of the rich people are not gold diggers, meaning that they usually do not use stocks as their entire portfolio, and rely on a blue chip to raise 5 cents to earn most of their money. They are rich for a reason.

  • because may be your father or mom have investmenst in china you dumbass or in a chinise bussnie

  • quantitive easing lol ..kk im bored now

  • WTF? I need someone to tell me why I should care.

  • there's nothing to worry about...

  • Thanks for uploading.

  • man... all this stock stuff is soo confusing... i don't even know what is going on? perhaps anyone can help explain to me how stocks work and the reason why it dropped? and what does China's market have to do with it? soo confused, please help me understand...

  • When the dow goes down, the cost of living gets cheaper but job growth slows, and China isnt making rich Americans richer as much as it has been lately.

  • what the hell is a dow? and why did it drop? why job growth slows down?

  • 1.Dow chemical is the oldest share on the stock market.

    2.More selling than buying.

    3.?

  • i love sales.

  • Link.Think.Wake up.Show up.

    and wake up others ....

  • I notice we're in a Bear market...& I'm wearing honey covered underwear...

  • Link.Think.Wake up.Show up.

and wake up others .... before its too late

    terrorpets google it :)

  • CNBC needs to be closed down by the SEC for their insane hyping, front running, and general manipulation.

  • This video is retarded. The Dow stayed above 12k the whole time. -_-

  • If you look at the actual numbers the economy is doing better than it ever did under Clinton.

  • yea thats true, we are spending more money but we are also making way more money

  • yeah, like our enormous current account deficit. ninny.

  • The U.S. budget deficit, which in 2006 fell to $247.7 billion, is the lowest its been in four years. PLEASE check your facts! Don't get your news from Matt Lauer or NPR!

  • i'm not talking about the budget deficit, joker. i'm talking about the current account deficit. do you know the difference, captain exclamation point? and i get my numbers from the economist and the wall st journal. so save your condescension for someone who really doesn't know the difference.

  • The U.S. budget deficit, which in 2006 fell to $247.7 billion, is the lowest its been in four years. PLEASE check your facts! Don't get your news from Matt Lauer or NPR!

  • Clearly this man has never heard of a little concept known as inflation.

  • ITA, dddouce is really lost. it's amusing.

  • The stock market isn't allowed to ever go down? Remember the Dow has broken all time highs 6-7 times in the last 2 months. Panic is what started the great depression!

  • This stock market drop was inevitable as soon as the new Democrat Congress was sworn in.

  • They were reporting that it dropped over 500 before it did! OMG! Another conspiracy, just like WTC-7!

    </snark>

  • Greatest. Comment. Ever.

  • this is nuts-- we're on the cusp of another depression and its thanks to this administration

get bush out of washington please!!!

  • Link.Think.Wake up.Show up.

    and wake up others ....

    terrorpets google it :)

  • This always happens before wars or a significant event. It's coming.

  • Nooooo... my money is gone.

  • Markets go up, markets go down.

  • Had to laugh at your womans expression when it dropped to -500. She practically wet herself.

  • lol i call you the truth! hehehe

  • freakin conservatives would support a president commiting unspeakable atrocites (2 of our soldiers died today, 40 iraqis.. 3 soldiers injured yesterday, 23 iraqis killed..) support a leader who would raise the arsenic levels permitable in our water, increase the pollution in our air for the sake of large corporation. he is a puppet running on greed he sends our own people to die while he an his cronies profit

  • so? there are those of us who make the money and put the effort to get where we are today and there are the lazy unmotivated bunch which you belong to

  • where exactly are we today? at war in two different countries, rising gas prices, illegal immigration out of control, busted medicare program (thanks big corporations!), or maybe your talking about how well of bush is and his possie? I make close to $85,000 a year working for the city, how much more motivated are you again?

  • Good to see you are "making" money off of stolen wealth. What is it you produce again? I mean working for the city you can't be creating wealth with your job. Funny thing is government caused the huge price rises we see today in health care. So more government intervention is not going to solve shit. Government is just a fucking parasite on the marketplace. Keep it real, bureaucrat. Keep living the "High Life" off of stolen wealth.

  • well said

  • fake

  • I always hated the Japanese. More than the French.

  • they hate you, too.

  • are you american?

  • Don't you just love flashy on-screen graphics? It's like its out of some sci-fi movie or something! Wee let's make the stock market fun! I'm half-expecting to see a crosshair and a gun pop up with aliens running around in the background.

  • lol. sad but true. just look at "USA Today"...100 words or less or your money back!

  • Funny how the media ONY reports when the Dow goes down. You wouldn't know that the Dow has broken it's all time high 6-7 times in the last couple months. The economy is better than any time Clinton was in office but the liberal media won't tell you that!

  • ha, liberal media! You're a douche!

  • What are you smoking? If anything it showed that the market is inflated. Also shows how wrapped up the US in China. Screw up China and you basically screw your country up.

  • Go back to your intro to macroeconomics course, doofus.

  • i shouldn't have just ate my dolphin sandwich then

  • its just food

  • If dophins become rare enough, prices will skyrocket and sale will plummet by itself. Sprinkle some math book on your tofu burger.

  • The war has cost so much and so much has been borrowed if the creditors of the united states lose faith in their fiat currency it will be a permanent recession for the united states.

  • Correct, they belong to the world, so you have no right to say the japanese cant have them, fucking americans.

  • Horrible audio sync!

  • yawn. why do people get so excited about the number of points in a drop?? it's absolutely MORONIC. the proper metric is percentage of total starting value lost.

    yesterday the dow lost 3.3%

on "black monday" in 1987 the dow lost 22.6%

why all the insane media coverage? isn't there a celebrity in rehab somewhere to cover?

  • Print suhm mor munny.

  • I think that's the problem...

  • I wasn't really painting red state Americans, but mostly blue state ones, or anyone who takes this extraordinary attitude that he must be blamed or connected with everything that goes wrong. Heck, you have separation of powers, three branches of government, a federal and state system - the whole American Revolution and Constitution is designed to qualify, limit, decentralize power; and yet you moan about him as if he was a feudal king!

  • we'll get the 2nd black tuesday....

    this is just the begining....

and when that happend, i can't imagine it... chaos everywhere....

  • Lord knows the bible thumping freaks make everyone ELSE suffer with their never ending delusion.

  • the date was 2.27.2007 I wonder if the power players of the world meet once a year to agree upon a date to sell off, watch the ripple efffect plumet the market, then buy up within 24 hrs.

  • lawl ok crazy person, way to show your ignorance. If this country's economy falls, everyone's economy falls, because our economy is directly tied in with the world

  • It's a correction. This happens every year, although I am worried that China's stock ACTUALLY mattered to our investors.

  • China has the power to lower ever stock market in the world in less than one day. Keep shopping at Wal-Mart and other non-union stores, idiots.

  • I agree. Buy, but and BUY. they'll recover.

  • my vote? BUY. The stocks are cheap right now, they'll rebound.

  • Fear and speculation. Another proof of how dependent technology companies are on China

  • I blame Bush. No reason..just do.

  • bush's quote, "I believe the terrorist are behind this."

  • Money is the root of all evil.

  • ok, give me all ya money and feel less evil!!!

  • If you're going to quote something, GET IT RIGHT! The saying is NOT "Money is the root of all evil." It's

"The LOVE of money is the root of all evil."

Money is nothing more than a tool with which we store and trade our work.

  • I wasn't QUOTING anything.

  • ya-hoo. Short on everything.

  • Deficit spending has nothing to do with the stock market.

  • Er, why don't you lot all chill out. It's called a CORRECTION and I'm glad it happened now, rather than later. Just remember; stocks don't always head north and when you consider the gains over the last few years, it's not that big of a deal.

  • stress.

  • this is pretty fuct

  • Bush has mortgaged the US future to the chineese. We printed money like mad to pay for the war and China has bought most of it. Now they are selling it off.

  • I gotta give it to them, CNBC handled the drop really well and professionally.

  • I'm worried there's more instability to be played out. Has anyone checked the health of the subprime mortgage industry?

  • that's, in principle, why some of this concern spread to the US. the origins of the fall in china are entirely unrelated.

  • thanks for posting, it's a dose of reality to think that a crotch shot from Britney Spears will get 1000's of comments,

compared to only 20 who care or even know what the Dow is! lol

  • FUCKIN CHINESES...

  • wow... a lot of hurt happened in those few minutes... computer error plus fear plus much more...

  • So this was a result of China's Market falling? Domino effect, eh?

  • Gosh, Bush isn't half as bad or as powerful as you think. And I'm not even an American. It makes you look really bloody stupid to effectively treat him as if he's your Sun King, in complete control of every element of your existence. Historically he's just a fairly unexceptional President in extraordinary times. Get over it. There isn't exactly a Chruchill in the wings.

  • Easy for you to say; you don't live here! I kinda wish I didn't. We are all paranoid because #1)Bush didn't win the popular vote. #2) We can't impeach him, and even if we could we would be left with Dick Cheney (HORRORS!) #3) In America you can't even take a piss in an alley without being arrested these days!

  • Not really fair to paint us all with such broad strokes. Bush is only popular in the red, undereducated, rural 'fly over' states. Those of us on the coasts know better and can't wait till he's found guilty of treason and left swinging like Sadam.

  • Another casualty of the scheming cabal of International Jew Financiers... I bet you anything Soros and his tribe designed and engineered this tragedy and profitted. Just like with the British pound. No shame, the Christ-Killers.

  • I'm thinking that you aren't serious.

  • ha ha ha your fucking stupid.

  • Wow, that was intelligent.

  • Hope this was ment as a joke?

  • uh...no

  • Fuck you stupid hater. If you're looking for someone to blame, blame the wasp CEO in EVERY robber corporation running (ruining) this country. I'll bet less than 10% of EVERYTHING you own was produced in the US. While you're at it, blame YOURSELF.

  • wtf is wrong with u? lay of the dope plz.

  • duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude..

bush, if you lose THE ECONOMY

bush, if you lose THE WAR "surge"..

what next? (oh... my.. can you hear.. IMPEACHMENT?)

click your heels if you hope for his impeachment.

clicking my ruby walmart CHINA MADE slippers.

  • I'm BROKE, nigga, I'm BROKE!!!

  • heh heh,er uh,i was reading'my pet goat'and er um,planes hit the buildings,er ah,heh heh,it's alkida by god,er um,heh,mission accomplished,heh heh,er,terrist in their last throes,heh heh,bin laden you ask??hell i don't know where he is,er um,i just don't pay any attention to him,er ah,cause it's the suurrrge you see.heh heh"

  • how did this happen...computer error?

  • China's market crashed. Along with that, the over-inflation fears and recession fears caused all this.

  • Radio Shack is a front operated by the CIA. Why do they ask you for your zip code? Have you ever seen anyone buying anything in Radio Shack? Exactly.

  • Simply PWNED!

  • your simply gay

  • So was there some auto-buying taking place when it hit the 500 mark? It looks like the Dow was fluctuating in a 40 point band toward the end of that clip, settling higher at a 400-point drop at the end of the day.

  • Looks that way

  • wow
