i got this phone and no lie, its pretty decent for one of boost mobiles 1st 3G phones (1XEV is boost mobiles version of 3G) . Its alright, but sometimes it gets me pissed of because it lags when Im multitasking or downloading an app and the fact that it doesn't have wifi, makes me want to punch it. I got it cuz it was on sale at radio shack for $150 (phone alone) and i figured it was a good deal. but i recently found out there now selling the new one for $250, which has wifi. So that was gay.

I heard you cant watch youtube with the i1 till you do a firmware update, even then you must be on WiFi to watch youtube. i1 is still on the slow iDEN network while the BB is on the much faster CDMA network. The i1 is $350 while the BB is now $150 dollars

We use this model blackberry at work. If you are going to use the opera mini browser, use opera mini 4. For some reason opera mini 5 sucks on this model blackberry. The Bolt browser will work better than opera mini on this model blackberry.

Yo dude. You need to download the bolt browser so you can watch youtube videos fullscreen. type in bolt browser or bitstream and download the browser they have set up for the blackberry. Using the Bolt browser on your blackberry you can watch videos from almost every site.

I only wish sprints reception was better boost works off there towers and when I ordered this phone from best buy i couln't even get it to activate. I drove 10 miles down my road and didn't get one bar of digital signal. I went home and checked the coverage map and the area I live was completely white :-( I had to send it back but If I move to a place that has coverage Im buying one again in a heartbeat.

I love how people don't like this or that and saying that this phone sucks. This is a LAST GENERATION BlackBerry. There are newer ones available that would do all those things much better. This is the BEST option so far if you do not want to sign a contract or pay a premium for BIS. Otherwise, go get a iPhone and deal with AT&T.

this phone has a vey small screen for you tube videos,moreover it kept saying media cant be played format not sopported when video was a little long, i bought one from radio shack , had for a couple of days and then returned it , i was not satisfied.

@jjr1123 - It all depends if the service is good in your area. My apt. only gets about 3 bars, so sometimes it goes into "Buffering", but if I have full service the videos play without a problem.

@Avatarblackwolf - If you go to YouTube on the phone and click on a video, it goes to a page with "Play Video", "Add Comment" and such. There is a option for "Normal" or "HQ" video quality.

I have just noticed that if you click on HQ instead of normal when you watch a video, it shows the vid in full screen, not the 75% view.

The reason the picture is small is because YouTube optimizes mobile videos to fit small screens. Unfortunately, the BlackBerry's screen is bigger than many other phones', so the picture is small in it.

Yes the Boost Mobile Blackberry 8330 does indeed have the Blackberry App World [downloadable]. Boost Mobile service pretty much offers anything that a contracted service provides.

For the Boost Mobile Blackberry you *HAVE* to have the $60/month unlimited service, which in itself is amazingly cheap.

Boost Mobile is so good it doesn't even seem like a prepaid company. :D

If I hadn't seen it, I wouldn't have believed it. The Metro PCS Curve 8330m wouldn't play YouTube videos. It would always give an error about the video being an unsupported format. I think Metro must've blocked a socket or something.

MetroPCS locks down their phones heavily with proxies, and other modifcations, which is bullshit because their phones are pretty damn expensive. I mean seriously, if they are gonna charge high prices for phones they should leave them more functional. I had MetroPCS with a Samsung Messenger before I got my Boostmobile Blackberry 8330. Boostmobile ROCKS! :D

I downloaded Opera Mini and its all wonky. It would frezee up in the middle of a loading a page, and it would not display some pages properly. I have to stick with the default browser until I figure out what the problem is. The funny thing is I had Opera on my old phone(i880 ) and it worked perfectly.

There is a free app called "XENOZU YouTube Player" that I think has full screen, but when I installed it, it just froze my BB. It took me 2 days to completely remove it.
