Firstly, Anny, I think Tourism Queensland could do worse things than hurl that $150k at you immediately and throw you on the next plane to Queensland.

TQ is looking for an energetic and exciting person to build up hype for one of Queensland's best assets.

Somehow she was able to magically film herself for the application lol.. not a reason for disqualifying though. She used her own resources (friends/family) to make the video from the looks of things. I say nice way of making use of resources and very nice video.

What's wrong if someone knows a professional camera man/ director? I do and he was good enough to film my application as well. The camera just films... She did all the hard work so balance blue stop hating and just be happy for someone elses passion.

You have a very clear english intonation which is really great to be on TV. But the video seems to be too commercial-like? or too professional-made? with pro-equipment...where i think maybe comparing your video works with others aren't just too fair. Maybe a lil' bit too over created which has toned down the whole natural atmosphere. Can't see anything more special but your presentation itself is really good :)

What you actually say isn't anywhere near as good as some people with less professional videos (and before people have a go, I'm not applying myself so I'm not jealous!)

The video work is obviously good but on the whole not very persuasive - she won't have a video team with her when she's out there so a nice looking video doesnt tell us much about her, other than she couldnt make a video by herself ;)

And how do you know how involved she was in the production? If you actually listen to what she says she is just as qualified as most of the other vids with the exception that she obviously knows that presentation is important too.

Can't you read? I'm not saying that she shouldn't be considered because she has a good video (which, if you have a look at her site, actually says she didn't make herself), I just think that what she says is nothing special.

Obviously presentation is important, but so's content. She doesn't say anything very convincing. I've just heard the whole "I've studied marketing! I love extreme sports!" a million times. Naming the islands and 'hilariously' pretending to feed fish does not a winner make.

I've seen a few, but you can't post links in comments unfortunately! There are just a few that really stand out, whether they've been made on webcam or not, much as joachimca seems to dislike people who've used one. I'm more about the person and their creativity than how well someone else can make their video.

Oh I see. So you take the fact that she isn't behind the camera as proof that she doesn't know how to run a camera. Very astute. Have you ever done on-camera work? I have and it's not easy (as you can see in many of the other vids). Her performance alone is a big + in my book. Seriously she's helluva lot better than the ppl sitting in their bedrooms saying they need to get out more. You're awfully eager to make this one vid look bad considering you're not in the contest. Who are you helping?

Ha ha ha. You're funny, justthewman. I enjoyed reading this spat. And to further what you are saying, an applicant should produce their own application. We would not have been the wiser had she not mentioned that it was compiled by someone else, but how much more help did she receive? Did they write her script, as well? Determine the props? Is this job merely looking for an actor or for a creative and entertaining candidate who can bring more to the table? I would assume the latter.
