Is there a reason you kept pausing during the last Wily stage? Does that reduce the time that he flashes?

I just kept pausing because you never know where Wily will reappear next, and I wanted to be ready to switch weapons in case he reappeared out of range.

Yep. Once you beat the Dr. Wily stages in the main game, you can unlock them in Time Attack mode.

thanks for walkthrough, i havent still beat plug man though. im working on it, concrete man and plug man is the hardest yet. im worried about wily's stage though, i am saving last energy and mega energy, and one eddie. its hard to not use it.

So did I. He has 3 attacks: charge, ground pound, and Concrete Shot. You just have to read the signs as to which attack he'll use next and react accordingly.

I downloaded this game yesterday and I completed it with a Buster-only run on my first time. I'm not saying it was easy, as it was pretty darn hard. The most difficult bosses for me were: Magmaman, Plugman, Tornade Man (after some tries he gets predictable), the green and yellow devils and of course Wily. Man the devils took like 5 minutes after I finally beat them.

I was paying close attention to where he was going to reappear. If he was going to reappear out of range of my Plug Ball, I wanted to be ready to switch to the Hornet Chaser so I could still hit him.
