Sorry to sound greedy, but could you please post all Llobet records you have? They are musical treasures and should be saved for posterity for good at least on YouTube.
my god do you know how rare this recording is, this is another age of music insight, just listen to the cultural identity within the piece, man that redifines my outlook on expresion, thanks for posting
Hey poeple! It sounds HORRIBLE because it must be a 78 and you played it on a33 or 45... I've been checkin out the pitch and it's way too high... Llobet wasn't such a shredder!!!

I'm soory man, but there's still a problem... The song's key is E major, and here it's C major... so the pitch is too high, so one way or another the record is played too fast... And it's 100% sure, I'm surprised that no one noticed it and everyone just thought that Llobet played that way... It's not guitar, it's not music... So please make do something about it so we can hear how he really played. And don't take it personal, it's just for the sake of music!!
Well, so what do you think? He was playing with a capotasto? Or with a sopran-guitar? Please check out the score, the song is in E and on your vid it's in C so there is a problem. I'm sorry because I really don't want to annoy you, but if I'm 200% sure of something, I won't say the contrary just to please the others. By the way, would'nt you be pleased to hear it at the right tempo, i.e. way slower (and in the key of E)? I don't know what's the technical issue, but I sure know the song...
I know the rerecorded Tapes and CD's of these pieces but this is my first time to watch the original record. I like Liobet's compositions and arrangements.
Thank you for posting the picture of the SP record.
Llobet is underappreciated in my view. Many of the Albeniz transcriptions that were such a staple of Segovia's career he learned from Llobet who was a bigger influence on him than he cared to admit in later life. For instance, Llobet was the first guitarist to play Asturias. He was also the man who famously played these transcriptions to Albeniz himself.A major figure in the instrument's history.
How interesting, i thoght it was Tarrega who transcribed most of Albeniz's pieces. In fact it is said that Albeniz declared that he prefered Tarrega's transcriptions to the originals.
Wow where did you get recordings of Llobet? I was told that he tried to make recordings but was never happy with any of them and threw them out.

Llobet was one of the greatest guitarists of the twentieth century, better than Segovia and many others. A real great master.

High fidelity and great quality compared to a phonograph record.
