Actually Jazz is a right wing music in Europe, listened by conservative intellectuals from the Right as Lefties prefer Rap, Bjork, Indie rock or any kind of obscure and sophisticated music. The antagonism towards African Americans (Largely from people who self-identify with the political right) in the USA is well-documented and persists to this day. To mention it is not nonsense, or living in the past, its the bull in the China shop., I'll go further..... Right wingers love to attack the arts, especially anything that is perceived as avant-garde..,.right wingers love to attack intellectuals...
