  • Put a afterburner. On it and shorten the end hole or make it smaller

  • how much thrust did you get out of this?

  • I don't know exactly. I do know that it weighs approx, 100 lbs. and in the video it did move on its own. It was just getting started when it ran out tether. I need to replace the turbo (again) for further testing. And get rid of the tether.

  • The best thing I like in this video is the guy smoking cigarette while operating flammable / combustible fuel....very smart!

  • Did you notice the missing Finger! Did you go to the website?

  • daves jet engines

  • .com

  • Nice video !!!!

Burn the green and bulid the Beton Plane !!!;)

  • Thanks for looking, what is a Beton Plane?

  • Sorry ,my knowledge of languages not god.

    (I come from Austria)

Burn the green and build the concrete plane !!:)

    correct languages?

  • Well I think you mean: Spend the money and build something solid. Correct?

  • I love to burn the green! RESPEK BRO

  • sweet not mow the lawn :P

  • so do u mow your lawn with this er wha?

  • I dont have to mow any more, after one pass over the green lawn it was burnt! So I have no use for it anymore.

  • hahahahah awesome!

  • sei un cretino, pero da gusto!

  • ? Thanks for looking

  • wow powerful.....

  • Hey Dave, Nice website! I'm your neighbor, I found out. Well...100 miles to the southwest. Just over the Byne-Nissha bridge near Conquered off 680. I worked for San Fran GE Marine Dept and did the overhauls on the Chevron gas turbine tankers for several years. Kimmer

  • Dave, how about a gas turbine powered cigar lighter??? With afterburner! Gas turbune powered marital aid???? Gawd, the possibilities are endless.

  • have you been to my website?

    ......davesjetengines.......com

  • Dave, General Electric MS5002 two shaft gas turbines (35,000 hp) use the free turbine to drive natural gas centrufugal compressors. Chevron has 5 tankers with GE MS3002 two shaft gas turbines. The power turbine runs a gearbox connected to a generator. The propeller shaft is turned by a 100 rpm electric motor as fed by the generator. Propeller is variable pitch, reversing.

  • Make a second turbine housing with no compressor wheel to run off the exhaust of the first. Use small front wheel drive automatic transmission planetary gears as a speed reducer and maybe you can run a small boat or gas turbine powered toothbrush. Ha! No clutch needed as you can stall the output shaft.

  • Toothbruch, I had no idea! ha ha. but the rest of your comment is very good. Thanks Dave

  • More: centrifugal gas turbines run very low pressure ratios, horribly inefficient 3:1. Newest jets run 27:1, still 2 shaft. The exhaust of the core engine turns the high bypass fan you see on the inlet of a 747. If I had more time I'd do what you made! The challenge is to reduce the power turbine outlet speed to turn n a generator. Old DC Chevy generator? Made for high rpm, accidental overspeed. You do nice work!

  • Very cool... are you planing on using this on anything?

  • The goal is a go-cart. I have also am thinking about converting the fuel to bio-diesel, then turning a generator? Finding a use for it is the goal. Thanks for the comment.

  • I'v seen a golf cart with one of those at an air show.

  • hello, I don't know what the rpm at this time. I have blown two turbo's I believe its over reving. I need to buy bigger turbo. Thankss

  • cool, thats one way to cut the grass..

  • lol:P i believe that :P

  • cool

  • Thanks, yep it cuts the grass really FAST!

  • you should store some smaller propane tanks under the engine and put a afterburner on it. what kind of turbo are you using?

  • The turbo is a KKK K26, as far as I know its off a Audi, I think. yes I have thought about a couple of small tanks, but currently I am going to convert it to kerosine. Thanks for checking it out.

  • Great video. I just acquired a 3K K26 turbocharger myself as well which I also intend to make into gas turbine/jet engine. Glad to see it is producing a decent amount of thrust.

I was told by the mechanic I bought it from that mine probably also came off an Audi. The plate says K26-2664G6.91 on it and under that 8.0 554 0455 . Mine has a bit of shaft play though but I was told there's a place in Orange County close to where I live that has a rebuild kit.
