if it's a 318 it has the carter 1 1/4 carb, can get the part # 4 rebuild kit if needed. btw, im a c-body maniac! gots 67 fury convertable and a 73 fury hard top, yes!
@captbarnacles1 Hey is your '73 a coupe? Just wondering, i've got a '73 Fury III hardtop coupe and I love that car, i'd live in it if I had to. I don't see much of the '73 furys on youtube, guess they're kind of rare.
shame she is in rough shape, but I think its cool that its still out there ticking along..Myne is a 70,let me know if you are looking for stuff for her to keep it running, I can help you or show you where to get help finding c body stuff...
@70fury3 Thanks! I've got good access to parts because most of my friends drive old Chryslers as well. Great to see others are starting to preserve the C-body line, not just derby them!
My motor is in my garage from speed o motive finally, I have missed my car and I cant wait till this spring to get back to the car shows and cruise nights...
@70fury3 Mine finally blew the muffler right open with the backfiring, and I had to patch the roof with some 'glass so that the rain would stop dripping onto the steering wheel and setting the horn off. Nevertheless, it still starts at -30. The 72 Fury might be my favorite car ever, but car shows are not on the agenda for this one...
Ballast resistors always were a problem on these, but these were one tough car

Let me guess it has a holley carb?....
mechanicwarrior20 1 year ago
@mechanicwarrior20 Hi! I think it is a carter 2 barrel, but I never open the hood, so I can't remember!
coldwarmotors 1 year ago
@coldwarmotors reason being is that is a common symptom for holley carbs to run like a pile of crap when it's humid out.
mechanicwarrior20 1 year ago
@mechanicwarrior20 Weird...These Chryslers are usually OK when they warm up, its just when they are cold and damp... forget it. Walk.

Smell the exhaust in your hand and decipher it to be too rich or too poor in the amount of mixture through the intake , and adjust if necessary .
