@71Cree I don't believe it is usually on the stick, but a curve will usually only come in one lie. If you find the curve you have on our site, it should tell you what lie it is.
@pandaroo5247 I believe so but it is hard to tell for sure what sticks they are using. Usually they are custom sticks painted like the retail version.
@icehockeywarehouse Hi, i am 179 cm (5ft 11) and weigh 72kg, i take alot more snap and wrist shots rather than slapshots. What Lie should i get? (also if you could tell me what flex i should get that would be really helpful) :-)
@xViroSHITatCOD You would probably be good with a 85 to 87 flex depending on what stick you get. Lie is pretty much personal preference. It depends on your playing position and how you like to hold your stick.
ok so ive been playing competitivly for about 12 years now and im debating weather or not to change brands and lies. im a big guy at 6'4 with hands tho so i want to go to a lie 6. how ever im stuck between changing from easton to warrior in you honest opinion whis stick would you recomend the warrior brand or easton?
@sofa1king1cool All depends on what your looking for. I like both Warrior and Easton sticks. I have an EQ50 and really like that stick, excellent for all around performance.
im 5'7 and im using a lie 5. whenever i take a shot, it always seems like im taking my shots from the toe and recieveing passes to the toe. Should i get a lie 5.5 or 6?
Thanks for the informational video. I recently switched a to a lie of 5.5, but find my tape wearing down at the very end of the heel. It's also very uncomfortable when I'm carrying the puck. That being said which would be better a lie of 5 or 4? I'm 6'0 and have a fairly high skating stance if that helps. Thanks IW
@topcornerwristshot There isn't really a designated lie for positions. It depends on your stance and your height. Use the wear patterns of your previous sticks to see what lie will work best for you.
@John97Cena It depends on several factors, but an easy way to tell is to look at the wear on the blade. If it is wearing in the heel portion, you should be sing a lower lie. If it is wearing more the the toe portion, you should be using a higher lie.
YOu guys gave the best advices, and I would like to purchase my gears from you guys, but since the big brands (like Easton and NB) won't allow you guys to ship overseas which got me a bit disappointed. But anyway, best tips and more technical than others, so two thumbs up for me.
hi.thank you for useful videos. i have one question. my blade is always worn of on the heel. should i cut a stick a little bit so the whole shaft would be on the surface or should i change a lie?
So, I used to play with the SherWood Leclair stick. The lie was about a 4.5 and the pattern was quite plain, like a Sakic without the open face. Since there really aren't any pattens like that in the lower lies, can you compensate by cutting an inch or so off the length? I wouldn't want to over cut a $100+ stick to find out that's not a good fix.
Thanks a lot for your reply. I noticed that nowadays a stick lie 4 is only available for Warrior sticks. Is that true? I could not find a stick lie 4 in any other hockey brand sticks.
Hi. Thanks for the wonderful videos. I recently bought a CCM stick with a lie 5. I can see that the stick tape is wearing down at the heel. But I am a beginner hockey player and I started to play just couple of months ago. Should I look for a stick that is lie 4 or should I just try to play more upright. I don't know. Maybe you can suggest me the right choice.
i have a question when ever i first got my stick the tape was wearing down at the heal but by the end of the year it was wearing evenly and i have a lie 6 but i dont like the curve and the curve i want is a lie five what should i do?
If you grow and your stick stays the same height the lie will be affected because you will have to skate is a different position. I would suggest adding a plug at the end of your stick so as you grow your stick can grow with you.
this is the best tutorial/explanation for people looking to properly align the lie on their blades they use and figure it out best, thanks a bunch for posting it, now i can just simply link friends this video instead of explain it haha

@NavyHornet1 The mid curves on that stick are both a 5.5 lie.

@55dickhead The lie determines the angle of the stick from the ground.

does cutting down a stick effect the lie

@Vinny19rocks the angle between the blade and shaft does not change which is lie, but that will change your playing position.

I'm about 5'11 - 6'0 i like my stick handling and slap shots. i also like my slap shots. idk what lie to get, what do you recomend?

A lie 5 will probably be fine. You might just skate with the puck out in front of you a little more.
Both will be pretty similar, personal preference. I would probably lean toward the Bauer skate.

if you have a hockey stick and your growing does that affect the lie on your stick because your taller and put your hands higher up on the stick
