Had this same problem. Wouldn't shift out of 3rd so had a friend roll me till I could get going and when I did get unstuck my 3 rd and 4th gears started to grind. So idk. Think I tore my synchronizers up. ( 85 lx 347 stroker check my vids)
hey men i have been mesing around with civic 95 ex transmission, and when i cracked it open it was not shifting gears, and when i cloused it it shifts fine,it justs main shaft gets out of aliment thets it
is the t5 from a 5.0 mustang same box from a t5 from a 2.3 mustang, i just bought a t5 from a 5.0 but the box is broken, so i need to change it, and i have the original t5 from my ex 2.3 mustang, can i just change all the pieaces to the other box?
No, the T5 for the 5.0 may use a 3.35 1st gear while the T5 for the 4 pot uses a 3.97 1st gear. In a pinch, it can be used while you locate a replacement. You will need a different input shaft pilot bearing. Need one? t5rebuild@gmail.com

It was the roll pin that holds the slider fork on the shifting rod. I didn't press it in all the way.
