Best tour, best game and best atmosphere I've ever experienced, can't believe it's ten years ago.
It's a shame they won't let Expedia be official tour operator again (remember the lionesses and the one lucky bastard with them!) - a grand for flights with guaranteed match tickets and you got 3 Aussie Dollars to the pound!
Quickest feet in rugby. Love the way the touch judge stands still, anticipating Latham will try and push Billy towards the touchline and needing to see if a foots in touch.....and he doesn't even come close!
all time great ?? hes scored like 5 trys in the wole of his career, unlike people such as Lomu, habana, swilliams, howlett & clerk....who all have over 40 trys for there countrys
30 tries in 56 games is a pretty good return considering Jason only got his first cap at 27 years old. The others all first played for their country no older than 21! Lomu(37 tries in 63 games) and Habana(38 tries in 68) are comparable. Williams(55 in 83) and Howlett(49 in 62) do have a better strike rate. Don't quite know why you chucked Clerc in there(24 tries in 48 games for france). If only Jason hadn't spent so many years in rugby league......
@Niallersz lions had star players but he wallaby side were much more rehearsed and familiar. they had won the tri nations for the last two tri nations beating new zealand. they were probably one of f the best teams during this time under the great captaincy of john eales
@adspad75 a squad made from 4 seperate teams thrown together at relatively short notice with little practice together. I would like to see a southern lions team in action. Australian, All Black, South African and Argentinian players in a similar way put together to face nothern hemisphere sides, I doubt they would do as well as most people expect.
Robinson's is a great try but O Driscoll's is another level altogether. Rob's a great team try & finish against one player on wing; there was no try on that anyone could see with O Driscoll's try.
I'd forgotten how early in the match that try was. Australia was coming off a World Cup win and our first Tri-Nations victory, but I think this try was the moment when every Wallabies fan in the country dropped our jaws and said, "oh crap."
cumon dude no need to be bias their in the same team ffs. im english and i think both of them r world class , none better than the other. dont disrespect robbo his awsum.
'stepped up five levels to face the wallabies'!! LOL..he played against the greatest team in both codes of rugby, the kangaroos never mind 15 fat old blokes from grammar school.
typical union bullshitting commentators with their 'union is a step up from league' fucking bullshitters
League and Union shouldn't even be put in the same sentance.
Take rugby, remove all the strategy, techical ellements and imagination, then you have rugby league. Which is practically, just running like a bitch, with a ball.. epic!
Of course if you understood anything about rugby you'd know Jason Robinson had been scoring that sort of try since he was 17 for Wigan and that Rugby League has much to teach Union, things like the rush defence, decoy runners, chip kicks and grubbers. And guess who thinks these things, not me, an amateur rugby players but the best coaches in the world men like Eddie Jones, Shaun Edwards, Robbie Deans, Dean Ryan etc, etc, etc. So think before rubbishing league next time.
League has a couple of advantages in defensive technique (product of decades as a fully professional sport) but no doubt union is a better game, which is why mungoes are moving into it, not the other way round. Union has absorbed these techniques from people like Shaun Edwards. League will be semi-pro in 20 years.
There it is ... one of the better fullbacks in the world, Chris Lathem powerless to stop him.

I was there Brilliant - ''Heres to you Jason Robinson, the Lions love you more than you will know, Wo oh oh.
or
Waltzing O'Driscoll, waltzing O'Driscoll
You'll come a waltzing O'Driscoll with me,
And we sang and we roared as he ran through the Wallabies
You'll come a waltzing O'Driscoll with me
Or my personal favourite
''Ball and chain, Ball and chain
We came here with backpacks you with Ball and chain''
