i thought it was a badass cover until the eight minute guitar solo (which started out amazing then i lost interest). im not trying to be an asshole.. i hate when musicians diss other musicians. he does have talent but i felt it was a little show-offish for me.

Well that is a good point! I have a feeling he was as well. But he would not be Justin Fox if the guitar solo was not as awesome as it possibly could be! You should check out other Medusa Stone original material. It is very good!

While it was a technically challenging solo, I wouldn't say it's the best it could be. I don't mind hearing people's own improvised solos, but I think they should somewhat be in the style of the original.
I feel like this solo would better suit Purple Haze or something. Manic Depression wasn't really a "freak out" song for Jimi.
Pretty good though.
