The verse may not specifically have the word love in it but how else would that verse make sense unless it is revealing God's love? God's love is fully unconditional. A true parent loves all his children even if he must punish them.

Jesus plus anything is legalism. Jesus alone is sufficient and this song condems a singer of country music and a salesman to hell. I understand his message but making a living is not selling out!!!

Everyone deserves to go to Hell. Jesus gave His life and rose again so that we don't have to. The only way into heaven is through Jesus (John 14:6). If one just believes in Him and accepts the gift of salvation, they will not only be saved from Hell, but promoted to Heaven to be with Jesus forever when they die. (Romans 10:8,9)
I tell you, as a old time holiness preacher, this song means alot of me. I have only been preaching for a little over two years now and have already seen alot of this, especially this past month. This is a song that needs to be sung at campmeetings, general assemblies, and revivals all over America!

Search me!! search me!!! and if there's any sin there i don't want it I DON'T WANT IT!" this song reminds me of that... but remember by the grace of God i will we can make it!
@kiekie84 I agree with you about not wanting sin but when you have truly accepted him into your heart you are saved for eternity. The bible says for by grace are we saved through faith and not of works..If salvation was of works then I would understand losing it but its not. Jesus died on the cross so we could accept him into our hearts and if you truly have accepted him then there will be something in your heart that cant keep you from sinning but it will make you not want 2 thats salvation :)
@mercybuiltmeabridge Jesus died on the cross so He could save of from what? from sin salvation is never by works because if it was by works then Christ would have no reason to die and Christ did have a reason because we could not save our selves but I will say faith without works is dead... how? well if we accept Jesus we don't just accept a man or the fact that He this man is God and He died for our sins although accepting that is key but we also accept everything that He comes with

and you can tell the difference between man made righteousness and God made righteousness and as far as saved for eternity yes we should be and by the grace of God we can be but if someone walks away from eternity it does not change eternity it only changes whether they have it or not and people don't lose it like they lose there car keys but they slowly let it go unlit they realize they have walked away and they don't even realize that they have left it the eternity that God had gave them
that's when they returned to there own vomit because they did not remember lot's wife they put there hands on the plow of God and then looked back to see the world and they are not fit for the kingdom of God because they looked back because they did not take heed and they let there heart become a an evil heart of unbelief sin in the world can do that hardened a heart to unbelief
and when someone looks back on the sin of world to long for it it's easier for the sin of the world to creep in so that they lose sight of what's important and they stop caring for what the master asked them to watch over and therefore He the master when he comes back and finds them sleeping dead in there sins because brings spiritual death and that's He the master will give them a portion with the unbeliever's
but yes I agree we are saved by grace and grace alone "unto good works so that God can use us and change us into what He wants us to be His righteousness little Christ like people" and no God is not up there waiting for us to mess up so that he can just wipe us clean no God is merciful and will give time and time after time to repent and no we will not be perfect who can be lol but we can strive for perfect how?
by consistently examining ourselves in Christ and by clinging to the old rugged cross and if we have ride that alter to heaven so be it because I will repent of every little thing I have too even if I'm saved if God shows me some area in my life that needs work on or something that He dislikes I'll get on my knees and let God have His way over it there is a difference between living in sin and making a mistake once in a blue moon I know not sinning is hard

I tell you, as a old time holiness preacher, this song means alot of me. I have only been preaching for a little over two years now and have already seen alot of this, especially this past month. This is a song that needs to be sung at campmeetings, general assemblies, and revivals all over America!

@chrisman812 yes once a person is saved they don't always stay saved people can stay saved if they want but take heed lest ye fall I'm trying to discourage anyone but there have been services prayer time bible study's even video's that have touched me and woken me up in Christ were I've ended up weeping to God "Lord! Search me!! search me!!! and if there's any sin there i don't want it I DON'T WANT IT!" this song reminds me of that... but remember by the grace of God i will we can make it!

@kiekie84 I agree with you about not wanting sin but when you have truly accepted him into your heart you are saved for eternity. The bible says for by grace are we saved through faith and not of works..If salvation was of works then I would understand losing it but its not. Jesus died on the cross so we could accept him into our hearts and if you truly have accepted him then there will be something in your heart that cant keep you from sinning but it will make you not want 2 thats salvation :)

and you can tell the difference between man made righteousness and God made righteousness and as far as saved for eternity yes we should be and by the grace of God we can be but if someone walks away from eternity it does not change eternity it only changes whether they have it or not and people don't lose it like they lose there car keys but they slowly let it go unlit they realize they have walked away and they don't even realize that they have left it the eternity that God had gave them

by consistently examining ourselves in Christ and by clinging to the old rugged cross and if we have ride that alter to heaven so be it because I will repent of every little thing I have too even if I'm saved if God shows me some area in my life that needs work on or something that He dislikes I'll get on my knees and let God have His way over it there is a difference between living in sin and making a mistake once in a blue moon I know not sinning is hard

It's true regarding Obama who does not believe in Christ. Yet, at the same token, we are commanded to pray for those who are in government, those who are leaders. We have a duty to pray for them. It does not matter the belief of what they are. God always wins out in the end. People's eyes will be opened and many will come to Him. So let revival begin in you, even all of us. Who knows?? Maybe in the end times, Obama will come to Christ. Pray for him.
