Our elementary school is going to try one number, Circle of Life. (For Black History Month) I hope we can get enough parents, volunteers, costume designers, carpenters, fathers, and whoever to help with make up, costumes, and backdrop. I was going to make just a big sun, like the Lion King actors did for the Tony Awards.
Wow this is amazing, we did this for Concert Choir my senior year...all I can say is when it comes to the choreography...YOU ROCK!!!
Waynesboro High School's choreography for stuff like this always suck. We always do moves that you would see in Elementary concerts...it's quite pathetic.
It's really cool to see this actually be preformed by a higher class than what we're doing it at. =) It's also really cool to listen for the alto part, when, that's what I sing. Overall, I think it sounds really good. I can't wait until we get to do it. =D
This performance was amazing. I did it in high school my senior year for our Fine Arts Festival. Our costumes weren't nearly as innovative but or moves were killer. :) I love to see other high schools in America doing the same song and dance we do in Hopewell, VA :D
O_O jus wondering...how long did this all take? i mean..the singing..the costumes, choreography...coordination...transition....this is....frickin broadway...
I hope my High School does The Lion King Broadway for a musical next year, cause i'm interested in playing Simba, but i'm breathless at this! *applaudes*
The set is a blank stage with a 20x40 backdrop (which we rented). The lighting is the basic high school lighting with the addition of "intelligent lighting," which we hired for the event.
This is FANTASTIC! I was completly impressed by the vocals. And the choreography was amazing. It looks like it took a lot of time and effort. On a scale of 1-10, I give this an 11! :)
This New York City school exemplifies the true Broadway qualities it appears :). I enjoy it soo much! I was born in New York City, but moved at age three to California. I wish to come back there for college.
I'm glad you liked it. This Show Choir had the time of their lives. It took hard work, commitment, and practice- three reasons you will not find the Freshman Choir here.
JAnthony, my son Lukas Anthony,LC.'00 established their accredited VOCAL JAZZ ENSEMBLE, his legacy, with blessing of Weston & other Music Professors. Prior to college, he was a'star'of his H.S.Premiere Show Choir.
So Proud! He'd love this,as I do. Mother & son both sang in Nordic, as well!!-Penny'72L.C.Music, member W.N.A.C.
Pretty good, though he lived in you seemed different than the song, like you changed a few words to be adressing 'god' instead of mufasa and the kings of the past
Ohhh my god, this is SOOOOO amazing, lion king is one of my favorite movies and seeing something like just amazes me, the harmony is so beautiful too, wow!!

Actually, we did no such thing. But thanks for the interesting off-beat comment.
JAnthony37 4 years ago
no, they sang "they live in you" instead, which is straight from the broadway version. and "they" refers to the kings of the past.
