Well, I do have health insurance but let me "enlighten" you on this little fact because I have experienced it. Many of those without health insurance many times receive better health care than those of us that do. NO ONE can be denied medical care in any ER even if they are without insurance.
People that are uninsured are still responsible for the hospital bills, and items are charged at higher rates than for the insured. So poor people end up in debt and fall in a financial hole that is inexcapable. I'm talking about citizens.

I think I read somewhere that it's been typical that congress has extremely low approval ratings during war. I'm not positive about that but I know I heard it somewhere. I think a lot of them should resign but not all. There are some good people in Congress that are trying to bring about change. Like universal healthcare.

I thought the elites wouldn't go to a draft because 1. Deferments would be harder for thier kids. 2. It would create and fuel a large anti-war movement. From what I heard at the time it wasn't all that hard to stay out of the draft. Maybe it's Vietnam hangover but I can't figure out how to support the troops without supporting the war. As for funding the war, yes my money is MUCH better spent on men and women who have given up EVERYTHING to make sure we are all taken care of. I would give my last dime for that cause. Well, I do have health insurance but let me "enlighten" you on this little fact because I have experienced it. Many of those without health insurance many times receive better health care than those of us that do. NO ONE can be denied medical care in any ER even if they are without insurance.

People that are uninsured are still responsible for the hospital bills, and items are charged at higher rates than for the insured. So poor people end up in debt and fall in a financial hole that is inexcapable. I'm talking about citizens.

Yukkione I don't know where you get your info but you are dead wrong about the uninsured getting charged higher rates than the insured...how do I know...I got a call from the ER about a visit of my daughter's and they lost the insurance info. They wanted to know if we had insurance because if we didn't we would be charged at a lower rate.

CAM We had a draft duting Vietnam. 66% of those who served volunteered. In WWII on 33% volunteered. I was in Vietnam, and there were plenty of white kids like me who came from well off middle class families. There is also an urban myth tha Black Americans served in greater percentage, they served at a rate that was the same as there % of the population

CAM The country does not want the President impeached during a war. None of those things would stick. The President can fire any US Attorney at any time, for any reason. Those torture techniques and survelliance techniques were know about by many in congress. He gave congress the information he was given. I think I read somewhere that it's been typical that congress has extremely low approval ratings during war. I'm not positive about that but I know I heard it somewhere. I think a lot of them should resign but not all. There are some good people in Congress that are trying to bring about change. Like universal healthcare.

And yes US Attorneys can be fired but it's a question of whether or not it was politically motivated to favor Bushs' agenda. And to me it's very clear that it was handled that way.

I thought the elites wouldn't go to a draft because 1. Deferments would be harder for thier kids. 2. It would create and fuel a large anti-war movement. From what I heard at the time it wasn't all that hard to stay out of the draft. Maybe it's Vietnam hangover but I can't figure out how to support the troops without supporting the war. Be there with them but they wont let me do that anymore.

CAM: I would suggest a little reading of your own. (No textbooks!) pre-WWII; The British, French, German, Polish and American political histories. 1919 to 1940 or '41 should suffice. Not the public stuff, what they all did when the doors were shut. If you could manage to be objective it would bring your high standards a bit more into line with reality. Go to the library. The internet wont cut it. You have to do the work.
