  • The greatest ever. No ego, no gimics, no carefully-crafted radio-friendly singles. Just real talent delivered 200% honest for the fans.

  • I have been very lucky to watch Rory 2 times during a tour. The energy this guy has and the simple men he is/was impressed me a lot.I remember him as a devil on his guitar but sounds like angels.I am proud that I can play some of his songs with my band and to keep the spirit of Rory going.God bless !

  • Most critics gave Rory raving reviews don't really know why everyone is up in arms, yu can tell if yu no anything about the liver that he is in trouble in this video this ia about the time he started slowin down due to health, the body starts to bloat because the liver isn't functioning proper iv'e had a few freinds that passed on the same way, terrible way to go, but he left a legacy none could follow great bluesman

  • @SlumminAngel. Music critics are like unucks in a hareem. They know how its done, coz the've seen it done every night, BUT THEY CAN'T DO IT THEMSELVES.

  • one of his best by far rory was the rock god and one hell of a bluesman! rock on forever RORY!

  • I too have recently found this clip and can't stop watching it!! Fantastic!! Another classic from Rory and his band!!

  • saw him in 1980 brilliant concert

  • epic mullet on the bassist

  • What Happened to the rest of this show???

  • This song blows me away, just found it the other night. If you listen to the beginning of the song he almost has a hard time saying Heavens Gate and he says it's about a man who's on his way there. Then in the lyrics he says you played your own card "destiny". He must have known that he was not in the best of health. I think he may have written the song referring to himself. I Love this guy so much, saw him twice,no-one compares. Thanks to all of you who post this great stuff, keep rocking.

  • Rory was as rightous a bluesman as anybody that came out of the american south. Bar none !

  • your right slummin angel but all critics are arseholes these are the people who have had no life and still got no place in society

  • Im so glad that at least some americans caught on to Rory, hats off to them.

  • @jimmy27paul ... indeed my friend, Albion, Indiana, USA here!!! I got turned onto Rory in the 70's and have been a fan ever since. I continually post his videos on my facebook account turning on others to his muscial genious. there will NEVER be another like him. and altho I also like SRV, f*ck SRV compared to Rory. lol

  • @92bluestrat I saw SRV 2nd row center at Clowes hall in Indy. Absolutely shreds a guitar, but the ego of that cat was over the top. Nobody else in the band got so much as an 8 bar lead, and he had great players with him. It was like he spent the entire show trying to impress. Didnt look to me like they were having fun. Rory and Gerry always had fun. Saw him at DePaul in Greensburg, opened for Kansas, blew the house down, and Kansas never followed, we had left anyway, heard later.

  • Forgot just how good Rory is, it is many years since i have heard him and lost all his

  • this was dedicated to SRV im guessing. what a man rory is and alwayas will be my favorite guitarist and one of my favorite musicans hes just god miss him!

  • this was dedicated to SRV im guessing. what a man rory is and alwayas will be my favorite guitarist!

  • EXCELLENT !!!!!

  • I lost track of things - where is Rory now? Is he still alive?

  • @TheTallulla He died of complications following a liver transplant in 1995.

  • some idiot thumbed down -_-

    i love your music <3

  • A legend till the end!

  • "walking wounded" from same concert has been taken down...can someone please re- post it?Thank you,Davidsailz.

  • Totally saw this tour in STL in March 1991 also; seemed the audience didn't recognize songs from this awesome album but I was head over heals! His health was apparently failing but did NOT show on stage...a truly taleneted show MAN, writer, guitaritst, performer. Look at McAvor such a jammer too!

  • pindowskivich I Completely agree 100% with you if even one Record Exec. would be willing to take the risk with some actual talent the music industry of today would get knocked on its ass and everyone would be as though they got hit with a haymaker out of nowhere and this empty music of today is nothing but monkeys who look good just banging on instruments with no rythem behind them

  • The best i've seen from Rory!

  • HE'S GOD DAMN SEXY!!!!!!!!

  • Fantastic!

  • The guitar aces are out there. The world just needs one good record executive who is willing to run with talent rather than

a pretty yet untalented face. Until that happens we're all stuck with this continuation of "empty music".

  • i see this as a rather good thing though...

publicity and fame and money and whatever a couple of successful records bring is most probably what screws and corrupts music, drives artists away from "their" path, makes them swear to the god of money....

  • All respect to the old 60's guys who are still touring (Rory is not one of them) and who will always be our desiples but we need a new guitar hero to blow away all the boring stuff on the current charts. So come on you guys, if you're aspired by Rory and play guitar, practise some more and come forward !!

  • I SHALL!

  • @dragon5937 Ok. Will do.

  • I saw him twice in Sheffield....once in his prime and once just before the sad day....when I got to work I told my boss my hero had died, it was then I found out my boss was a Rory fan also. I feel so so lucky to have seen him.

  • aww fuck man. I feel ya, I'm just nearly 22 now but I wish I could have met him or even seen him live. I used to always wake up to Rory on my dads stereo. His music has been etched into my ears.

  • Rory was one of those guys who was constantly touring, so I always thought "Oh I'll catch him next time." Consequently I never got to see him live....Bugger.

  • poor guy, this is when he needed a new liver, yet he went up stage on and played his heart out till a transplant was desperately needed, rory was a great..

  • he was prett heavy there, but it will be of the alcohol. But who cares, his music was, no ! is! epic! bets guitarist

  • What a FUCKING LOVELY TONE!! D: D: D:

  • Great Tune!!! "Fresh Evidence" is quite a good album!!

  • definition of critic - those who can't do,

    critcize

  • hahaha wd

  • what a tragic loss for all proper music lovers w,ell never forget him,he will be remembered as a good part of history R.I.P RORY FOREVER ,WE ALL MISS YOU.

  • rory gallagher was here! and how fantastic to behold!

  • As far as I can remember, he played Boston in '80,'82, 85 and 91

  • I still remember the show in Boston, probably the same week. We were huge fans, knew that he had been ill,and noticed he didn't look good. He was, and still is a big part of our lives. Back in 1978, I had a"Rory Moment." I reached up and put my hand on the fretboard of the strat as he strummed, during a solo in "Laundromat." I'll never forget it.

  • Hi johndmo, it says a lot about how dedicated Rory was to his fans that he let them do things like touch his guitar while he was playing. What a nice memory to treasure!

  • I love you Rory! R.I.P :) <3

  • The energy here is unbelievable. No gimicks, no fashion, just real good players getting into a real good song. R.I.P. RORY (through Youtube we can still see and enjoy our heroes, thankyou.)

  • Yes, very, very good

  • Really love this one of Rorys from his Fresh Evidence cd...if you havnt got it get it...its just mindblowing, but then all of his albums were, i think sometimes we get so mesmerised by his amazing guitar playing we forget about his clever, beautiful and deep lyrics...yes he left too early but he left so much behind for us to enjoy..RIP RORY

  • Great comment, agree absolutely. It always surprised me when critics said he wasn't a great songwriter. Made me realise that a critic is just some guy mouthing off and getting paid for it, doesn't mean they know what they're talking about.

  • @SlumminAngel

    How true!!!

  • @SlumminAngel Critics dont know shit. Thats like going to a steak joint and ordering seafood. Rory had way too much soul and integrety to be liked by critics. They want to believe in lyrics being devinely inspired or some such shit.I think it makes them feel important to have talked to some "rock god." Watch interviews with Rory, he makes the interviewer feel comfortable, they want that "I interviewed Clapton" story to impress cohorts. I would say friends, but they have none.

  • It's always sad when you see him in his unhealthy stage in life, he still played incredibly, but I hate to see him like this as you know, even though it's already passed that, 4 years from here, he wasn't with us.

Also, seeing Brendon O'Neil with hair that length is really odd! Nowadays his hair stops just under his ears really!

  • We lost him way too early. One of the most underrated bluesmen and rocker of all time.

Man, I wore out the "Rory Gallagher Live" album as a teen.

  • YES AGAIN,. Rory....God Bless Ya Man!.... I miss him so.

  • OMG, thank you for this vid. Saw Rory in NJ this tour. Long live Roarin' Rory's music!!

  • haha XD

  • I think you mean rollocks

  • Thank you.

  • I love the use of the word bullocks. Anybody ever meet Sandy Bullocks?

Much more importantly, I cannot stop listening to Rory Gallagher since I found out about him a few days ago. I thought Zeppelin was my favorite but I think it's this guy now.

  • Ha Ha i only discovered rory four years ago when i was 30, and led zepp were my intro to blues rock too but rory is the man!!!

  • What an awesome song. Wish I could've seen him alive.

  • THE Strat Master ....Just imagine if Rory would have actually joined the Stones when they asked him to audition for them in 1975 " he was to smart to get involved" he played w/ them for 2 days and got a look at there lifestyle and said NOT for me !! Thank you Addresses ..gr8 stuff !!

  • Thanks for that great loads of bollocks.

But I'll believe his broter Donal's version of events first thank you very much.

  • hey cuntgaffle, i got this info from a video here on youtube , so if its bollocks as you say then why are you thanking me ? ,it may not be word for word but i didnt make it up, im a huge rory fan and have no reason to lie about him...fantastic nickname btw..lol, im sure ur very popular w/ red light hags..

  • Rory Guitar Man

  • were do i start to check out this man?what albums? thank you.

  • Any of them, they're all great! You could start with the self-titled first album and collect them in order, or start from the very beginning with the Taste albums. Or the BBC Sessions double CD has a good selection, one disc live in concert, the other live in the studio. Or the Live at Montreux double DVD set is reasonably priced and brilliant.. Or just pick one at random, you won't be disappointed.

  • I'm sure Rory was let right into heaven, and St. Peter picked up the bass and St. Jude followed in with the drums.

  • wow! thanks a lot, 'addresses'! never saw a 1991 vid of the man! got anything else from this one? acoustic set would be great to see! cheers!

  • Rory's the tops!!!!

  • A rare treat - thanks a million!

  • excellent rory as usual

    top man
