Lets be honest you guys. Classic versions if WoW was amazing... But you have to think if all the small things that would be gone. Flying, many of the cool mounts and items you can get now, RL ID would be gone. And something I would hate... Remember when mounts got dismounted in water? LOL OMGGG. /wrists. Only good things i can think of is... No Deathknights? lol and I would miss Arena. (added in BC) I'm an Arena whore. lol. Like if you agree x.x'
Once again as we near the end othe expansion I'm losing my desire to play outside of the normal raiding and valor capping. It's just not as fun as when I joined back in BC. WotLK was fun til towards the very end.... but you just don't have to work very hard for anything anymore. Gear is dropped in your lap, professions can be leveled by paying 2-6k gold 1-525, and pvp is dominated by rogues without anything to challenge them.
World of Warcraft... I seriously grew up with it. Started playing when I was a lil seven year old girl and seven years later Im still playing. Thanks dad, for showing it to me. If it wasnt for you, I wouldn't find this truly amazing & epic game.(:
The reason the earlier games were better, were because of the difficulty involved. Now everyone is "Oh LVLING LAWLZ, I GETZ 85 IN 1 DAY" back then when getting blues was an accomplishment, and now if your not in full blue when leveling you are teh n00b. I always felt like the leveling was much more fun than the end game, but now all blizzard is doing is streamlining and pushing you to explore the end game. Which gets boring extremely quickly...
@jdodo008 Well I recently returned back to WoW after 4,5 years ( I quit soon after Burning Crusade came out)...and while it is true, what you say, my brother has played just about 2 weeks and he is already like 75-80 or something...BUT on the other hand I've soon played 3 weeks and I have enjoyed a lot about how Blizzard redo all the vanilla content....the quests are much more interesting to do than they were before in my opinion, and I have no hurry whatsoever to the "end game".

@jdodo008 No, it was not because of the difficulty. It was because of the players. The instances were boring, 90% trash mobs, and only 10% bosses. Most of the quests were the same, in Cata its even better, cause they added a few WOW(not the game) moments. But your right about the blues, now its nothing special. Most of the players probably just got bored after playing the same game for 5 years, if not more. Like every other game, it gets boring.
I wish Blizzard would make servers for every expension, like Vanilla, TBC, WOTLK and Cata. And I miss vanilla wow so much, old good time when nothing was easy, having 40 men raids, no resillience and badass gear skin, please Blizzard! PLEASE MAKE VANILLA SERVER BACK! <3
Wow... I never thought I'd miss vanilla WoW so much. I remember how it would take the LONGEST time to get anywhere and I hated it. Now I kind of miss all the sightseeing you got to do.

Good old time I remember when I first started playing WoW many years ago with my first character a little humain Paladin, it took me months to get level 60 and today you can level up a character to level 85 in less that 1-2 weeks.
Now this little paladin is level 85 with full raids gears and he's probably the oldest character on my server, I really miss when everyone was a noob with some level 30 with white gears on running around
I also miss the old raids now everything is strictly regulated
Remember the first time you got that box? You sat for like 3 hours installing it waiting to play and then you see the epic log in screen along with the epic song? Well I lost that feeling when cata intro came. I actually loved wotlk in the start. Both naxx and Ulduar was awesome but after that It went strate shit. :( miss the old days
they should make pre-ep servers. just classic, old music and stuff. they should also make new cool places which you can make available by buying them like ep's in the store!
i remember when i was first playing WoW on trial.....dating nightelfs....RPing tauren.....WoW was awesome back then. Burning crusade was nice too, but starting at woltk, things started getting overly serious....

@DeatgMagnet Yeah, these times were the best. When I started WoW, everything was epic and today this epic-feeling is missing. When you got your first Mount, or all the Instances like the Deadmines, Scholomance or the Blackrock Dephts, etc. These were epic moments and it had a lot of fun, not like today, where everything is strictly regulated in Raids and so on.
@Stormtrooprer Yeah exactly. I dont play WoW anymore. Firstly because the epic feeling i had when i was a noob in the game is gone and most of the friends i made there are in my msn now...and well...WoW without a community is pointless since the game itself is crap once you get to know it so yeah...maybe i will search for some TBC servers in the future cause i dont want WotLK or Cata, but for now i have enough of this game lol. Good memories though. Music gets me nostalgic.
@DeatgMagnet I stopped playing WoW in 2008 and now I play it on a Private Server with WotLK, but also there WoW isn't the game, as it was in 2006. I remember that I got my first Character to Lvl 60, only two weeks before TBC was released here in Germany, so I didn't have the chance to see all the Raids, my only Raid there, was the Upper Blackrockspire^^ But at the end of TBC, wasn't interesting anymore, so I quit WoW.
@Stormtrooprer I think that that epic feeling comes when you start playing regardless of expansion. i started during WotLK and i thought it was the most epic thing ever, but cata is not as good as WotLK just because i started playing then.
@DeatgMagnet Play it with friends you know in real life the game automatically gets 1000Xs better but don't do it with chars with boa just quest on a new realm and just do the quests Most people forget that what makes the game so good is the social interactions with people but now that the dungeon finder has taken that out its hard to make real good friends in the game outside of ur guild
@DeatgMagnet I'd say it's not about the expansion or smth it's about time. The firs time always leaves strong emotions, when everything is new and so... For instance I started to play WoW in december 2011, yeah, really late, and I didn't know nothing about it before. And for me it was all the same as for you. I was stunned when I got to Stormwind 1st time, it was epic! Firs instances, first mount, explore strange and qourious places, then read about it in the Net...
@DeatgMagnet I try to explore and get everyting by myself, not to look in the Wowhead or any other sources. I don't read tackticks or patch notes for new instances because it kills the atmosphere, when you read about what you supposet to know from the game

I really think that Blizz should just make at least four Vanilla servers. I, as a person who joined post-Wrath, really want the challenge to try and get all the way to level 60, and earn my mounts the old fashioned 'hardcore' way. I almost feel like I cheated my way to level 80, with all the old vanilla people having worked their darndest just to get to 60.

I was like this Ó.Ò The whole fucking time. I also hate that they destroyed the old, nostalgic zones with the old music.
I miss Thousand Needles, when I have to get to someplace near there, I have to swim all across it (If I have no flying mount), sometimes, I like to follow the submerged pathways and roads on the bottom of the zone, and remember the days when I used to kill wolves and buzzards there on the ground...

the only good part of cataclysm is that you can crush any lower level raids by yourself just to say that you did. other than that its boring as shit. Best time on the game ever was my first character level 1 - 30 around 5 years ago
Day by day, week after week, month after month, when I try to picture the old cities that we used to roam...It gets harder to remember. I keep screenshots of me dancing in Orgrimmar (And Stormwind), and I shed a tear, missing the old world, I know everything will be different, but my views on life in the World of Warcraft are the same. For WoW. May it never change us.

There is a revamped version of this song on "The Shattering" of the Cataclysm login music, it's basically 10:57 til the end of the song if you look it up, it's way more epic.
Totally reminds me of my first character, a Gnome Warlock, and how I was like "Whoah, the graphics in this game are so fucking awesome!" And when I got my Imp I shit bricks at how awesome it was.
with the coming of cataclysm, alot of new things are coming, including new beginner quests, so you can re-aquire that feeling of *magic* and newness and unknown things right now ;) makes me feel nubby again x3 bless!
@MetropolisNS yeah dude especially when people have to make it complicated for you to get in a raid you all have to have epic gear with this specific equipment and crap, like i had a hunter and i loved my pet dinosaur but then the faggets made me change to marksman because it had "more dps" so i changed and i miss my pet dinosaur lol

@MetropolisNS yea there was a certain sense of mystery and excitement when I first started playing so many years ago. Not knowing how large the world was and the marvel of fighting elites and just feeling so small in a big world felt epic, becuase of the struggle to discover the unknown, to get to level 60 and to be the best. That will never happen again....at least for me but it was pretty epic while it lasted.

You cant help MMORPG lovers like myself, we work for unreachable prizes and we enjoy doing that. Its how every MMORPG hooks players in, thats why it has a much higher replayability rate than any other type of game, Because you cant actually finish WoW.

Every Expansion seems like a great thing at first but after a while of playing you just miss the old wow , now cataclysm changes the zones we used to know and love so thats just twice the bullshit you know?
@Loonza I think what really takes away from the value of the game is that it is so addicting, and after a while ppl realize that they have already done everything (they think) there is to do, so they feel like they've drained the excitement out of the game - but I also think Blizzard has compounded that effect by constantly altering original content to fit a newer style of play which is more gear/achievement orientated, and less about experience.
The sad truth is, the most fun moments I had with this game was when I knew nothing about it and I was still exploring and discovering new areas, classes, spells, quests instances. Sure I'm a much better player now but the magic of classic WoW will never return.

The 3 themes bring back so many memories. Various stages in my character's development. Honestly, World of Warcraft is just something else.
I actually feel sorry for the new players, because the game has been simplified so much. It's good for those of us who've been there since the beginning because it's kept things fresh. New players dont get to experience it the way we did all those years ago.

OMG I REMEMBER WHEN I MADE MY FIRST CHARACTER, a human warrior who only used a shield as a weapon lol i was killing stuff soooo fkin slow but it was real fun i knew NOTHING about the game but i just kept killing almost everything repetivly i spent hours at the human starting place getting 10 then moved to westfall and tryed killing tons of murlocs
I know... So many memories... :'( And the worst part is that my computer can't run the game anymore so I listen to these songs and actually feel really sad... I NEED A LAPTOP. :D

I think it's more to do with the gameplay.. the scenery and music (and well lore) is as epic as it always have been. The "gameplay developers" just cant to anything right anymore,, (i suspect the old developers have long gone in fact).
... miss the old wow (bc was still quite good... but as time moved on the more it sucked... /sigh)
@Andicous while i agree wotlk sucks especially the dgs. cata's dgs defiantly don't suck they don't tolerate scrubby gear like wotlk did. the lore and quests are simply amazing so are the mechanics for all the quests and the log-in screen music is a masterpiece so is the music for all the areas it is slow to grasp the emotion of the actual war there all the zones especially barrens Ashenvale and Stonetalon give you an engaging sense of war i should send you an overview of ashenvale/darkshore
@superwowman100 well i hope you are right about cata tho then there's a danger to get addicted again :D; I've already listened to some cata mucic and they are great, in fact. I'm afraid that after a while i will miss old wow even more if there is no old music. But I sooo hope the gameplay will be different (though i haven't stumbled yet on anything that would make a big difference yet) - we'll see.
@Andicous Overview like summing up whats going on in the area while showing some game play and explaining the lore a user named Omfgcata created a whole world map video with links to different areas showing overviews for each one sadly they trashed the old music and put in some new music but the new music has a lot of the old vanilla WoW music from the area mixed in with it maybe they are planning on playing the new music and the old music at random times while in the area.

Firstly because the epic feeling i had when i was a noob in the game is gone and most of the friends i made there are in my msn now...and well...WoW without a community is pointless since the game itself is crap once you get to know it so yeah...maybe i will search for some TBC servers in the future cause i dont want WotLK or Cata, but for now i have enough of this game lol. Good memories though. Music gets me nostalgic.

@DeatgMagnet I stopped playing WoW in 2008 and now I play it on a Private Server with WotLK, but also there WoW isn't the game, as it was in 2006. I remember that I got my first Character to Lvl 60, only two weeks before TBC was released here in Germany, so I didn't have the chance to see all the Raids, my only Raid there, was the Upper Blackrockspire^^ But at the end of TBC, wasn't interesting anymore, so I quit WoW.

@Stormtrooprer I think that that epic feeling comes when you start playing regardless of expansion. i started during WotLK and i thought it was the most epic thing ever, but cata is not as good as WotLK just because i started playing then.

@DeatgMagnet Play it with friends you know in real life the game automatically gets 1000Xs better but don't do it with chars with boa just quest on a new realm and just do the quests Most people forget that what makes the game so good is the social interactions with people but now that the dungeon finder has taken that out its hard to make real good friends in the game outside of ur guild

For instance I started to play WoW in december 2011, yeah, really late, and I didn't know nothing about it before. And for me it was all the same as for you. I was stunned when I got to Stormwind 1st time, it was epic! Firs instances, first mount, explore strange and qourious places, then read about it in the Net...

I really think that Blizz should just make at least four Vanilla servers. I, as a person who joined post-Wrath, really want the challenge to try and get all the way to level 60, and earn my mounts the old fashioned 'hardcore' way. I almost feel like I cheated my way to level 80, with all the old vanilla people having worked their darndest just to get to 60.

I miss Thousand Needles, when I have to get to someplace near there, I have to swim all across it (If I have no flying mount), sometimes, I like to follow the submerged pathways and roads on the bottom of the zone, and remember the days when I used to kill wolves and buzzards there on the ground...

@MetropolisNS yea there was a certain sense of mystery and excitement when I first started playing so many years ago. Not knowing how large the world was and the marvel of fighting elites and just feeling so small in a big world felt epic, becuase of the struggle to discover the unknown, to get to level 60 and to be the best. That will never happen again....at least for me but it was pretty epic while it lasted.

@Loonza I think what really takes away from the value of the game is that it is so addicting, and after a while ppl realize that they have already done everything (they think) there is to do, so they feel like they've drained the excitement out of the game - but I also think Blizzard has compounded that effect by constantly altering original content to fit a newer style of play which is more gear/achievement orientated, and less about experience.
Anyway, a new mmo will eventually replace it

The sad truth is, the most fun moments I had with this game was when I knew nothing about it and I was still exploring and discovering new areas, classes, spells, quests instances. Sure I'm a much better player now but the magic of classic WoW will never return.

The 3 themes bring back so many memories. Various stages in my character's development. Honestly, World of Warcraft is just something else.
I actually feel sorry for the new players, because the game has been simplified so much. It's good for those of us who've been there since the beginning because it's kept things fresh. New players dont get to experience it the way we did all those years ago.

I think it's more to do with the gameplay.. the scenery and music (and well lore) is as epic as it always have been. The "gameplay developers" just cant to anything right anymore,, (i suspect the old developers have long gone in fact).
... miss the old wow (bc was still quite good... but as time moved on the more it sucked... /sigh)

@Andicous while i agree wotlk sucks especially the dgs. cata's dgs defiantly don't suck they don't tolerate scrubby gear like wotlk did. the lore and quests are simply amazing so are the mechanics for all the quests and the log-in screen music is a masterpiece so is the music for all the areas it is slow to grasp the emotion of the actual war there all the zones especially barrens Ashenvale and Stonetalon give you an engaging sense of war i should send you an overview of ashenvale/darkshore

I'm afraid that after a while i will miss old wow even more if there is no old music. But I sooo hope the gameplay will be different (though i haven't stumbled yet on anything that would make a big difference yet) - we'll see.

@Andicous Overview like summing up whats going on in the area while showing some game play and explaining the lore a user named Omfgcata created a whole world map video with links to different areas showing overviews for each one sadly they trashed the old music and put in some new music but the new music has a lot of the old vanilla WoW music from the area mixed in with it maybe they are planning on playing the new music and the old music at random times while in the area.
