  • That does have to be the most phallic microphone I've ever seen...

  • Thanks for posting this video gem.!Readers here may aIso be interested in the 1940 Fats Waller song "Eep ipe wanna piece of pie" . The words to that some & comments about eefing can be found online by googling Eephing"Mudcat". Mudcat is a discussion forum. Btw, eef rhymes with beef. My interest in this started because I was seeking sources for the playground rhyme "Oh my I wanna piece of pie". This is definitely one of the sources of that rhyme & other lines like the eep op ork jetson cartoon.

  • Wow. Just: wow.

  • Youtube improves the quality of my life.

    ...and a "popular prices".

  • Padre Wines will keep my guests entertained at my Winette!

  • OMG..I had this on an album called Looney Tunes when i was a kid..that along with Kooky Country gaves us hours of laughs back in the day :)

  • i had that same album when i was a kid!

  • @hfxmusicman I had the Looney Tunes album as well in the late 70's with the other album Funky Favorites. Great memories.

  • @hfxmusicman ...w0w... i still have that album but alas no record player to play it on now :( but yes i listened to it so much that the songs are permantly etched in my head ;)

  • That's "eefin" hilarious! ;)

  • Jimmy Riddle did the "Eefin" on this song. Jimmy was also known for the "Eefin and Hambone" duo with Jackie Phelps on "Hee Haw".

  • This was a treasure to enjoy! I've loved the first one for a long time, and the second one was a daring title, but a great love song too! I wish you hadn't fast-forwarded through the third song though. Now if you could find "Uncle Eeef" also, that would be another great treat!

  • Great post!

    Thank you!

This song was on a comedy compilation record a friend of mine owned when we were kids.

    Funny, crazy tune.

  • i apperciate all the good things that everybody said about my grandfather (n.blackwell) and watching these tapes helps me get closure abiut his death

  • Your grandfather seems to have been a real gentleman with great delivery - and what a voice! Joe Perkins is an unexpected treat! I only knew "Annie," and always thought he was a white guy - pleasant surprise. "Slave" is a good track - and what a voice Mr. P. has, too.

  • He was an under appreciated part of the media, that voice is unmistakeable

  • I love this song.

...and I'm called Joe Perkins too. :) Heh heh

  • Used to stay up late to watch Night Train when I lived in Murfreesboro in '66. N. Blackwell had some wild acts. Sorry that the video didn't show him smoking with his cigerette holder.

  • After Little Effin' Annie I'm thinking, ahh that's funny, but this guy is a joke.

But "Runaway Slave" is wonderful, thanks so much for sharing this wonderful talent.

Where did you find the footage from Night Train?

  • R.I.P. Mr Noble Blackwell. a true pioneer!

  • Where do you dig up this stuff?! FANTASTIC!!

  • A dream has come true tonight. I finally got to see Joe Perkins do Little Eefin' Annie. This is incredible!!!
