  • do u guys sell scx inner curve track

  • Looks like I might get to finally meet you guys on Good Friday... I won't be on duty, but I'll pop in to say hi. What time are you planning on being here?

  • That's if you guys can come, no pressure boys.

  • since when do we give a rats ass about bushfires in Sydney , other than the annoying smoke ........ i know the bushfires claimed alot of lives recently but we`re here for F1

  • BTW,good video guys!! and how is the weather in Australia now? and the bush fires etc? take care over there and all the best !!

  • Hey mate, the situation in Victoria with the bushfires is very, very sad and things are not under control yet. Just unbelievable and it is easily the worst nature disaster in our history. Over in Sydney where we live it's normal weather, even a bit cold for summer. Thanks for your concern. (Pep)

  • Yeah mate,My brother lives in Sydney and i hear a lot from over there.I really hope it gets better real soon mate..take care over there

  • Yeah i agree with you about Honda, but i do hope i am wrong ! And i feel bloody angry with Honda (Japanese side) that they signed JB to a contract only to fold a couple of months later, they must have known they were about to go down, but they still went ahead with his contract and continue with everything else,if they told him and Honda F1 they were about to go down then maybe things would be slightly different now and JB could be in another team.

  • Beatle - looks like Richard Branson's Virgin Group could possibly buy the team. There are 4-5 other groups intrested in the team as well, although Honda will have to deciede quickly who they'll sell the team to out of those offers. Either way JB should be on the grid if it goes to plan!

  • With regards to Honda's situation, Mosley was quoted that he thought there's a 70% chance that the team will be on the grid come Melbourne. However the more we continue to hear nothing from them the more it looks like they wont be on the grid.

Im hopeful though that some1 will buy them although for the sake of the team and the drivers the fact nothing's been done will mean they're hav no testing time. Also strange how we've heard little from Jenson over the last couple of weeks isn't it

  • Max, like all of us, is welcome to voice his opinion...but that's all it is. I still stand by my comments in a previous 'cast that Honda (or whatever they're reincarnated as) won't be lining up on the grid in Australia. It's too late. I guess JB hasn't said anything because there's nothing to say......more's the pity. Bourdais' nailed the STR seat so that leaves JB out in the cold unfortunately. - Max

  • Hi guys, havn't seen any of ur latest vids in a while, been busy. Spot on about the sport costcutting and then bringing in Kers, which im still againgst. As at the end of the day its a driving aid, but so are their high-tech steering wheels i guess! lol

  • I absolutely agree about the front wings. Not only are they monstrously ugly but they are actually going to hinder, rather then improve the likelihood of overtaking. Looking back at the last two seasons, there were numerous incidents where front wings were clipped off after overtaking attempts. These new wings will surely make drivers think twice about making a maneuver, rather then loosing a wing. My two cents!

  • Thanks for the two cents mate! I read an excellent article yesterday (can't remember where...) and basically they made 2 points -

    1. There have been plenty of ugly F1 cars over the years but this is the designers choice trying to "get around" the rules and create more speed. And now - for the 1st time - we have FIA mandated ugliness.

    2. The FIA should NOT be in the business of designing F1 cars!

    Couldn't agree more! (Pep)

  • Thanks, yep we've done a vid on that. It's called "F1 Proposed Changes - Qualifying and Medals".

It was 2 months ago, you can find it inbetween podcasts 92 and 93 + we talk more about it in episode 93 too. Cheers, Pep.

  • Thats great stuff man!

More road shows with guests please guys!

  • Thanks mate, we'll do our level best to have guests this season. Hope you're keeping well and are keeping warm buddy :) - Max

  • Oh yes it's -5 over here, got the heating on full...and a few beers chilling in the fridge :-)

Hear you've got a bit of a heat wave out there - temperatures getting to 48 degrees!. Hope the fires aren't to close to where you guys live...scary stuff.

    S.

  • Poor bastard. As I write it's raining in Sydney but has been extremely hot lately. I rode on the back of a mate's motorbike through bushfire smoke on the weekend and it was really eerie. The sun was blood red and the sky was crimson. Was like riding on bloody Mars! - Max

  • Hey guys

Congrats on 100 Episodes! Great achievement!

As I said before those rear wings may look ugly but there for a reason less dirty air coming off the cars, so we Should see more over taking. Renault to me look in trouble i don't see how that nose can be that aerodynamic, Take a look at Ferrari and Mclaren's noses there a lot thinner and look streamlined.

  • Congrats on your 100 podcast guys, we are ready for an another 100 podcasts!

The slot shop special is a brilliant idea.

    Cheers!

  • Thanks buddy, appreciate your kind comments. - Max

  • Congrats on 100 guys.

There's an old saying that if it looks good then usually it is fast - I think Renault are finding that out now...

    Go Prost!

  • Thanks mate, yeah you could be right. Jeez I hope they come good. Fernando's too good a driver to be driving a sub-standard car. C'mon Renault!!! - Max

  • Thanks a lot guys, it takes a veteran driver to do 100 races, it takes sheer class to do 100 podcasts. Appreciate it.

  • There's one word to describe people like you....LEGEND ha, ha!! - Thanks mate - Max

  • good stuff. About the wheel covers, I actually like them.

As for the adjustable wing and KERS, it does keep the driver very busy, I wonder how that's gonna go.

I think Honda is running out of time, and I don't think they would be on the grid mid season, if bought later on.

  • Nice guys, taking it to the, ummm, slots. Would love to see some more Sydney locales featured in future podcasts. Although I do understand doing it in familiar surrounds does cut down on the annoying idiot factor. Keep it up gus, great stuff. Rocket.

  • Guys..of course, not gus, who's Gus?. And I was by no way implying the Slot guys were idiots. Just that out in the big world it can be hard to produce live...podcasts without attracting unwanted attention.

  • Yeah mate, I understand what you meant. Video cameras can make some people nervous and doing our little show in public can be challenging. Luckily for us the Slot Shop had a small window where all the kids cleared off, so we could film in peace. Cheers, Pep.

  • Once again guys, congrats on the century.

Also, it was fantastic to meet you and look foreward to seeing the two of you down at the shop again.

    Thanks for coming.

  • Phil mate I need to decide what kind of slotcar I'd like to buy. Question - do all the F1 style cars drive pretty much the same??? (I'm not buying an A1GP car ..... LOL.) Meant to ask you that question on the weekend but forgot. Thanks, Pep.

  • GREAT VIDEO!!!! (I was in the audience) Can't wait to see the next video.

Thanks heaps for coming down fellas we hope to see you back there.

I was surprised to see that extra footage in there, it added some reality.

Let us know if your coming down.

    Dillon

  • Dillion mate! Glad you liked the video buddy, and you'll be seeing plenty of yourself and Phil in the next one!

Max and I will be back to the Slot Shop, looking forward to it. You guys made the 100th podcast very memorable, thanks! (Pep)

  • Max, Pep, nice vid. But where are the slot racin shots?? KERS, seems to be an on going ?, ah?? Whats bernnie goin do to fill the 20 car line up he promissed promoters? Pep, u are gettin to much sun, and Max waz up with ur drink of choice. Great one mates. Lv, Kat :)

  • Hey Kath! The next video is ALL slots ... with some behind the scenes stuff as well. We just wanted to get the actual podcast online first.

Too much sun - yep, probably. LOL. (Pep)

  • Oooh trouble with the diffusers now :)

I have to say though that it's ingenious what Williams and Toyota have done, and is what I love about F1. Actually I've been impressed by all the teams. Even though the Renault is ugly they should get credit for doing something different.

    Sorry but.....Sy-monds lol.

  • what team/driver do you guys support??

  • I'm a huge Alonso fan, have been since his Minardi days. I'm also a huge Kimi fan and have been following him since his Sauber days. I guess my support for Webber goes without saying. Team wise, I'm a big Williams fan as well as Renault ( I was a huge Jacques Villeneuve fan and Alan Jones won his WC in a Williams). Sorry for the long answer but I just couldn't pick 1 driver and 1 team :) - Max

  • I have a lot of respect for the 3 WC's we now have on the grid, especially Alonso for beating The Schu twice! Kimi's atttitude to F1 is very resfreshing and funny at times. Lewis had an easier run to the title but that doesn't mean he isn't deserving. Other drivers I respect a lot are Kubica, Vettel + Webber of course.

Teams - Ferrari, McLaren and Williams for the absolute pedigree and passion they have for the sport. 1994 changed my feeling to Team Willie but I have no malice. (Pep)

  • funny start great vid guys.

  • what

    no cake?

  • Nice to see the different setting.

I take it you took my advice from the 'F1 Podcast 99 - Car Launches 2' video lol. :D

  • Yeah, I read about Renault. I'm not surprised. We're basically talking about designing & constructing a new car. Something is bound to give (in).

Adjustable front wings, well, lets wait and see how it works.

Yeah, time is just about up for Honda. How could they bring the complete package up to speed, literally?

....and Max: Coke?! Woot?!! Nooooooo!.... :O ;)

PS. I love the beginning of the vid!

    - S

  • Ha, ha.....next time I'll take some beer, just to make it feel normal! - Max

  • We will have to film at a pub/bar in the future Staf and have a steady supply of beers bought to our table, preferably by gorgeous young ladies :) - Max

  • I suspect straying off topic will be frequent, then.

    If not absent-mindedness. lol

(but the arguments might be worth recording!) :)

  • Honda' s time is up. Button will hopefully be driving alongside Buemi. Nice vid, great to see Senna & prosts together again on such a special occasion.

  • Thanks mate! -

  • woot!! I was there!!

  • Yeah mate, thanks again for the invite! Max and I had a great time. Next time we come I'll bring my own slot car .... and try and keep it on the circuit! LOL, - Pep.

  • Thumbs up for the different setting, guys. Those special podcasts are really special. Not karting, but still very interesting.

    |'m worried about Honda as well. Just a month ago there were at least five "real" bids & now every news which comes up about Honda is simply denied. It's getting moer & more critical for JB & whole Honda team.

  • 1 st and do u no more about the game
