In other words, this guy may be reasonable, but he doesn't belief in faith (the non-religious type) and/or trust. This makes him ALMOST by definition inhuman.
I think he forget's that there is no burden of proof. Not from my own words (although I agree with it) but from history of religious practice, a relationship with god is a personal experiance, it's something that can be shared, but the actuall relationship and belief is personal.
The disbelief or discrediting of something WITHOUT proof while demanding proof of that same thingis discrediting faith (a non religious idea) and is also discrediting trust. This idea I've just brought forth is inhuman.
@PERSIAIOS "World's best selling fantasy novel" or not, it's saddening to see that when you look for buying the bible online it has the keyword "non-fiction".
Sad thing is that religious people claim that there is a God and have no proof but there are people in the world that believe that WBC are prophets of God, the holocaust never happened, Hitler was an atheist, ext ext.. And yet Westboro people are insane, we have proof the holocaust happened, and Hitler believed what Fred Phelps does; except Hitler acctually carried out his mass genocide.
@Thenewfallingsacred Fred Phelps and his followers are far from insane. They're very clever. Their whole church is a financial scam. The whole point of what they do is to try to provoke someone into assaulting them so they can sue them for financial compensation. Fred Phelps has made a lot of money from numerous lawsuits doing exactly that.
@DrChalkwithering - I would think you should take a second look at that freaky Fred. Have you ever heard one of his sermons? I think out of all of them if one of them is crazy, he definitely would be diagnosed legally insane. The rest of them yes they are greedy law abusers who love getting money from people. Fred.... He believes that God hates toast.. And when he said "The God RECTUM! and the great God PEANUT!" That was when I realized he may really be crazy.
@Thenewfallingsacred I still suspect that he's just playing up to the media to create a kind of infamy around himself that makes it more likely that some young hot-head will take a swing at him when he goes to protest a soldier's funeral. He's venal and grasping and dishonest and evil, sure; but I think he knows exactly what he's about.
@DrChalkwithering - You could absolutely be right but sadly the world may never know... He may be completely deluded, I still think he's nuts and he really is great comedy to watch.
While I am not myself a religiously devout person, I do disdain those who would go out of their way to persecute those who find religion a personal necessity, for whatever rationale (character fulfillment, happiness, what have you). I'm not saying this video or any of you constitute that kind of excessive attack on faith, but take care not to stray into hateful territory that you might hypocritically stereotype against an institution you believe purports prejudice itself.
@jaylay734 You're basically saying that even if there is no god, since religion can make a person feel good, it's still a good thing to have. *News flash*, it isn't. Think about the huge amount of time and money wasted in deference to religion. People go to church, people buy church clothes, people build big mega churches that can cost millions of dollars, and people make decisions based off their religious beliefs. If something hasn't been proven to be true, you shouldn't believe it!
@jaylay734 Hi, as a homosexual, I feel far more persecuted by religions than I think any atheist can be considered to persecute religion, at least in the present-day US. These false beliefs have a bloody history and will never be harmless. We not only have a right to fight back, we have a need to do so. They have far more power and influence than we do. I actually thought this was a very calm, rational, and compassionate statement from Dee.
@jaylay734 I agree with you...to a point. Certainly nobody should try and push their views on anyone else, but when a discussion arises in which someone believes something which is demonstrably false you have to attack that belief. This is even more important when you have religions trying to push through laws such as the christians are in the US, in which there is no obvious rationale other than religion.
@herpderpmonkey That is why you might notice some of my subscriptions belonging to RuneScape video makers. Also, the video entitled "Charles Darwin is the Devil" is satire. Most of my videos 'favourited' are christian songs and religious nuts being exposed. Yes I listen to christian songs for them simply being soothing when played on the piano. Take note: I don't actually sing those songs, it's just the melodies that seem very nice.
@herpderpmonkey I'm sorry, but what is a conservative incognito? If it has something to do with American politics, then I am terribly ignorant about such things. I was born and raised in England. Heard of Runescape? I used to be part of a clan called WG, the leader of which was called His Lordship. In honour of being a great clan leader, I created a seperate account called Hislordship8. Hence hislord1.
Wrong, lying or right. Only a confused bigot could sit there with his head up his ass and say people who say they believe God exists are only either wrong or lying. To exclude the possibility that they may be right is no different than declaring to know God does not exist. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. People who say they believe God exists could be right.
@pompousprick People who believe in fairies could be right, too, but most of us don't spend much time entertaining that possibility. The likelihood is so slim that its negligible.
I love how his correspondent--a lot of people do this, by the way--distinguishes "Christian" from "Catholic." Y'know, your personal sliver of Christianity (which, of course, is the "true" Christianity) is NOT the whole of Christianity--which comprises tens of thousands of denominations.
People who're baptized and believe that Jesus is their lord and savior ARE CHRISTIANS. That includes Roman Catholics, and Eastern Orthodox, and--yes--Mormons!--and not just your particular Protestant sect. Deal.
I want to pray for this man. The whole point of Christianity is to believe by faith. If you want proof that he is real then just look around the world. There are to many coincidenses for there NOT to be a God. You can not tell me that all of nature works the way it does by chance. And also I think if Atheists could have PROOF that there ISN'T a God then it would help them out. But they don't have anything. I'll pray for you man and all atheists that you come to love God like I do.
Believing by faith is what morons do though. So if the point of Christianity is to believe by faith, the point of Christianity is to be a gullible moron.
What coincidences?
The Christian god can easily, very very easily, be proven to not exist, the only hard part is getting Christians to accept that. We cannot prove no god exists, but we can prove your specific god does not, and can do so in less than 5 minutes. You'll just deny it though
@chaoszieg May I please ask what is the proof? And I know faith is very hard to understand, in fact for humans it is Illogical. But that is the point of faith ha ha
Everything has been proven to be wrong. From genesis to revelations. It's all been proven beyond any doubt to be a steaming pile of shit. Course Christians try to avoid that from changing to "it's all literal" to "It's all allegory."
@92bigreds Good question. What proof is there that a god exists? Because everything that's demonstrable has been proven false. Every bit of faith healing has been proven wrong. Lightning does not come from Thor's hammer. The earth was not made in 6 days. The sun does not set in a pool of muddy water (Quran 18:86).
Every claim that is testable has been refuted. So if there is a god, and he said things to people, those people messed up big time. Or they just made everything up.
@92bigreds "The whole point of Christianity is to believe by faith. If you want proof that he is real then just look around the world."
Do you understand that those two sentences contradict each other? A person who truly believes *on faith* doesn't need any "proof"; and, in fact, I would bet that even if--IF--it could be proven, without a shadow of a doubt, that your "god" does not exist, you would STILL believe, because you're a person of strong faith. So why talk about "proof" at all?
@lease2coach1 I was just saying that the bases of Christianity is faith. The whole earth thing is an answer I give if someone wants proof. I believe with all my heart that there is a God and I know for a fact that Christ died on the cross for everyones sins. We deserve death but now we have a chance at everlasting life.
@92bigreds OK, thanks for clearing up that seeming contradiction!
I've actually encountered that elsewhere: Someone talked about believers' "being safe" i.e. *apparently* believing just to avoid hellfire. Then s/he clarified that that was not why *s/he* believed; it seems s/he said that just to "motivate" nonbelievers. There's a disconnect there...
I don't doubt the sincerity of *your* beliefs--why not be true to them, and just offer faith rather than "proof" (which will always be disputed)?
If there was a debate between the atheist experience, and the most ..ahem.. knowledgable priests in the world. The atheist experience would win in a landslide especially with what Jeff just said here about how they have to prove to US there is a god..not the other way around.
Have to correct Jeff slightly, though it pains me:
If a god does NOT exist, people who believe that it does are wrong or lying only if they KNOW their god doesn't exist. If there isn't one, but we just don't know it, believers may be being truthful and aren't necessarily wrong.
This was "mild" for a Jeff rant - you should see him with the minister who rang in...
@JMUDoc I know you stated you hate to correct him but you have unfortunately made a mistake in your attempt to correct (unless I am noy fully understanding your point).
He took into account those who are in a religion and are not true believers and use it as an opportunity to garner influence and authority over other people (as if THAT has never happened before). Also....
If there is no God, and we don't know there isnt, then the people ARE still wrong of course. Wrong OR Lying.
I found it amusing that so many people, with don't have all the facts about anything, to be making blunt statements about the universe being created by a god.
Pathetic people on both sides of the argument. Now I know why our world is the way it is. Its almost like atheists and christians have to be enemies... can't we all get along?
If religion is based on faith, does that mean in biblical days there was no religion because god was constantly performing miracles for the masses? There was no need for faith then... Somewhere along the line, god got tired of being so helpful...
Atheists are very annoying people. Only stupid people believe things (i.e. existence of a physical "God" -- whatever) without proof but it is especially suspicious when a crusade-like movement is persistently trying to get people to say "there is no God". It poses the question of "what is their intent?"... the truth is that we don't know the truth on that scale or there wouldn't even be this argue-ment in the first place. ;0)
@YoungHorusMedia a crusade-like movement? So there are atheists torturing and killing people for believing in god? Maybe we're just trying to instill a little doubt in the faithful. There's nothing wrong with believing in a deity, But there's a huge problem if you believe you know there's a god and you know what it want. Doubt is humility, and some people really need a bit more humility.
@YoungHorusMedia From why I can see here (and stated in new Atheism) is : "There is no valid evidence for any God(s), therefore there's no valid reason to believe in any"
Anyone who claims 'there is no God(s)' is making a belief claim on faith.
To note : I'm not an Atheist. I'd rather label myself based on what I do believe (on evidence) than what I don't believe (because there is no evidence)
First of all "God" is a very subjective term that means various things to different people. God to me means the creator/originator force for something. Anything. I make no assumptions about the nature of this force in any scenario (e.g. it may not even be conscious). By my definition of "God" there is evidence of God or Gods everywhere.
@YoungHorusMedia Yeah, their intent was to kill off any non-Christians since it was God's word to do so. "Atheists are very annoying"? Maybe it's because you lack the intellectual capacity to actually critically think for once, to actually think for yourself, free from the influences of how you were brought up.
Atheists are very annoying because they are the new incarnation of the "We're right and you're wrong" village idiots that spread religions such as Christianity etc around the world. People who like to put themselves in boxes can be tolerated but they "should" be shutdown as soon as any sane person senses that they want to ride out on a crusade to force feed their cock-sure ideas on the unsuspecting World.
@YoungHorusMedia village1diot is force feeding ideas and spreading a religion? Yeah, believe in atheism or you'll burn in hell (oh wait, i mean we'll make fun of you so you get your feelings hurt)
It's not a matter of right and wrong, it's a matter of empirical evidence and critical thinking (and religios people's lack of it). Religious people get butt hurt because they feel like atheists are condescending-- what does that have to do with right or wrong? It has NO bearing on it.
@YoungHorusMedia It's like a thing a child would do to cop out of an argument, a complete side-stepping non sequitur. If anything, any rational thinker who actually inquired their spiritual needs would believe in a god that wasn't associated with any of the established bullshit religions.
You know why atheist sound condescending to Christians? We actually read the Bible and know the nonsense that's in there. We have a right to say "we know more than you"
@herpderpmonkey (cont) However, I disagree that we should steal whatever satisfaction they derive from turning to god. I am a gay atheist who experiences the love and commitment of two religious parents, and I would punch anyone who speaks disrespectfully of my parents about their religion, because they haven't done anything to harm anyone else nor have they shoved down their beliefs down anyone else's throat.
@hislord1 You do realize that your parents' love for you as a gay child has nothing to do with any of the religious dogma that preaches that gays are condemned to hell and that homosexuality is a sin, right? It's your parent's love for you. I know you feel like you have to defend your parents. My parents are at the age of passing on and they believe in heaven. Obviously, I'm not going to tell them there is no afterlife. But that's no excuse to progress in humanity and service truth.
@hislord1 (cont) Where is the intellectual integrity in saying that religion should exist because it provides some bullshit comfort? What about all the hate religions cause? I hope for progress in humanity, where people like us will pass on the notion of free-thinking to the future generation. America is Christian, there's no denying it. Politicians, media, social environments, all stigmatize atheism as devilry. THAT is the true injustice and why many atheists are "militant".
@herpderpmonkey I don't recall pointing out that religion drives their love for me. Yes, I wholehearted agree with you that religion has and continues to cause a lot of problems. As far is religion having a discriminatory stance against people of a different lifestyle, yes, it must have its false authority rendered void. If it isn't causing any harm, or preaching bigotry against others, then why not let others believe in it?
@hislord1 Because religion IS causing harm. Individually, you may not see the harm from your good-natured friends and family. But there are fundamental beliefs of Christianity that are inherently flawed and wrong. In other places, many people use the Bible as hateful ammunition. Ever heard "Good people do good, bad people do bad, but religion causes good people to do bad"? The only reason people don't want gay marriage is because of their ignorant hatred from biblical preaching.
@herpderpmonkey In response to the original content that we were discussing, I am unsure of what you are saying, pardon me for that. I am, however, able to respond to some of the points you made. I agree with you completely about the bible being a terrible source for morality. Therefore, people have to be educated about such matters. However, there will be the good natured people who don't deserve the same treatment as the other religious nuts.
@herpderpmonkey (cont) My contention doesn't lie with the removal of the power that religion holds over the masses, but with the attack on those who are religious and want to live peacefully and see their beliefs as a guide unto themselves and not others. Do you see where I am going with this? Take Ron Paul for example, as wrong as he might be, he believes you are free to do as you wish with your own penis/vagina. He might or might not see the bible as a guide only unto himself.
@herpderpmonkey (cont) As disappointed as I am that he turned out to be an 'unbeliever' in the theory of evolution, I will give him the benefit of the doubt, since he is far more reasonable than most of the religious population. We can continue this discussion on skype, is than an attractive prospect?
@herpderpmonkey (cont) Some of my closest friends are still the Christians from church from when I was growing up, and never once have they preached hatred or said "I'm keeping you in my prayers" after they found out the truth about me. I see no reason how the beliefs of others are of concern to anyone else as long as they aren't preaching hate. This is what I was trying to tell you when I cited my parents as an example. In the words of Ron Paul "It is non of our business what people do".
@herpderpmonkey (cont) Thankfully there are people like Ron Paul, who is actually taking America back to what it was founded on. He doesn't believe that Homosexuality is permissible, BUT he doesn't force his personal views on others. The moment atheists attack people like Ron Paul, they begin to mirror religious fanatics, almost as if they have convictions of their own, which we know isn't true! I don't challenge anyone unless challenged about god, needless to say, I win.
@hislord1 People criticize people like him because of his bigotry, not the fact that he doesn't let his opinions affect his policies (which obviously is impossible). How is that the same as religious fundamentalist who say homosexuals go to hell, and that the world was made 6,000 years ago in spite of thousands of studies from multiple disciplines of science?
@johnedwards1968 I think there has to be unapologetic voices for atheism. By trying to mollycoddle religious people into the same plane of debate is legitimizing religion and gives it credibility.
@hislord1 yeah because obviously atheism makes people believe in its ideology so much that they hate, fight, and even kill one another for their belief. We're clearly jut as bad as religion.
Religion is on a similar plane as slavery in the 18th century. If you knew that a belief system is morally and logically flawed and is causing damage to society, is it not the least bit of your responsibility to try and stop the injustice for the sake of humanity?
@hislord1 You have people so scared of dying that they're willing to let their wishful thinking adhere to a religion, and these institutions completely exploit those people's fears and hopes. You have kids that are forced into their religions and never get a chance to question their belief because if they do, they go to hell. You have individuals that get ostracized if they don't go to church. The bible was a manipulative ploy to exploit "tithes" from people and control their lives.
@herpderpmonkey And you have people like my dad and mother, who aren't bigoted against anyone, who don't preach god to their friends or strangers, who speak to you regardless your belief system, who supported me and loved even when I told them I became an atheist and when I had come out as gay. There is certainly no evidence to prove god, but if it is real to my father, then I wish not to take it from him. To the extent that we should stamp out religion for reasons you've mentioned, I agree...
Everything can be explained away as "that's just how God decided to do it". There are already apologetics that God created the universe with an appearance of great age (by YECs) such as light being created en route from distant stars. There is "Theistic Evolution", those who accept evolutionary theory, but say that God is making it happen.
That is part of the reason that the burden of proof is on the one making the positive claim.
@MrFungus420 The fact is one person can know something another person does not. If someone saw "bigfoot" for example, does that person have to prove the creatures existance in order for it to exist? Can something exist without us knowing about its existance, of course.
@Temptuous2112 What does that have to do with the fact that it is impossible to provide evidence that no god exists because of the malleability of the claims?
To jamesvolunteer: Hello Dear One. No, you are fine. I like answering your questions on here.
About the "literal interpretation of the Holy Bible." Well, it goes like this James. Yes, the bible is to be aken as the LITERAL WORD OF GOD. It is in fact literal with parables (stories) from Jesus as he taught the people in 30 AD in Israel. Also, the bible is not allogorical, but rather literal in interpretation. However, in Daniel & Revelation there are symbols that tell a story. These are literal.
To jamesvolunteer: God does not want to punish or kill anyone. He wants your love and to have a relationship with all people-individually. God loves us and desires for you and for me to love him back. God will admonish and punish "sin" especially when a person goes out and will "sin" on purpose-like the Jewish people when Moses was leading them through the desert. No, the wiccans and psychics should not be killed as Jesus would say, "you are delivered and healed. Now, go and sin no more." Amen!
@idahopaula I think though, even you might see the irony of punishing fornication, with rape..or sorcery with being stoned to death? I may sound like an Atheist here, I'm not. I don't like to label myself. I'm probably closer to agnostic, and my Grandparents were very devout Christians, so I do respect Religion in a lot of ways. I do get frustrated though, with, what I see as contradictions and hypocrisy. God wanted those wiccans killed at one stage. Whats changed? .......
@idahopaula I think you'll say it all changed with Jesus, but wasn't Jesus God incarnate really? Presumably God knew what was happening down here before, so what changed his mind when he came as Jesus? How did he turn from jealous and vengeful, to all loving and not wanting punishment over the course of just 33 years?
@idahopaula And also, (hopefully i'm not being too irritating), but you didn't answer my point about the people that believe the bible to be literal and accurate. What are your thoughts on this?
To jamesvolunteer: God punished the Israelites because they were worshipping "false idols like the Golden Calf, committing adultry, fornication, seeking out witches, or sorcery, and basically breaking most or all of the Ten Commandments. They did not OBEY THE WORD OF GOD given to Moses and Aaron, his brother, and the 12 Levite priests as they wandered for 40 years in the desert. Remember James, God brought these Jewish people out of 400 years of slavery in Egypt. God protected them & feed them.
To jamesvolunteer: About Exodus and "sorcery." God was speaking here. God told the people not to have any contact with witches, sorcerers, etc. as these powers come from Lucifer and the pit of hell itself. Example. In the Book of Kings, "The Witch of Endora" was summoned to contact Samuel, the Prophet. This is called "necromancy" and it is an ABOMINATION to God. These are evil and come from Lucifer-the fallen one-son of the morning star. There are "wiccans, psychics", etc. in our culture now.
@idahopaula Well, maybe you can see then some peoples exasperation when some Christians profess that the bible is 'the 'accurate and literal'. Your explanation, especially for the first passage I mentioned means at best that it was literal thousands of years ago. And really, just because its an old law doesn't really change a thing. The will of God at one stage, was for men to murder, rape and pillage you're saying? Even if it was all that time ago? Why would a God want that?
@jamesvolunteer I know some people genuinely believe that they have psychic powers but as far as I'm aware no one has provided indisputable evidence that this is the case.
To jamesvolunteer: Regarding your question about John the Revelator. He was taken to heaven in his spirit to see the miracles of God and listen to God. He wrote the Book of Revelation and the Epistles of John 1,2, & 3. John was the oldest and last of the apostles. No, John did exactly what God told him to do knowing that he would be with Jesus forever in heaven. John knew Jesus would come in the Rapture for his Bride-the Church-at the appointed time. All 500 bible prophecies have been fulfilled.
29:12 And I will make the land of Egypt desolate in the midst of the countries that are desolate, and her cities among the cities that are laid waste shall be desolate forty years: and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.
@gamesbok: Let me explain that passage to you. That is a "prophectic message" from God through his Prophet Ezekiel for the "future tense." This will happen in the future during the reign of Antichrist coming in the near future. After the Rapture of the church God will destroy Egypt as "prophesied" 500 years BC. This "hook in the jaw" passage previous to the one you quoted me means God will take away their oil (money) and scatter and destroy them. It will happen when Antichrist rises.
To jamesvolunteer: No, I do not agree with this primarily because this action falls under the "old laws" of the Old Testament. In those days God permitted this to happen as it was HIS WILL. When Jesus was born into this world as King of Kings and Lord of Lords he FULFILLED the Laws of the Old Testament. Jesus said to the adulterous woman,"Does any man here condem you?" No, she said to him. "Well, then, neither do I condem you. Go, and sin no more." Jesus changed that law. Read the Book of John.
To The AArmstrong: Now you like to "cuss and swear at me." How typical of those that are not born again. I do "love my neighbor" according to the Ten Commandments, but you are not a christian. Therefore, you will not receive my words on here very well. If you knew Jesus as your personal Savior then you would understand. There is no arrogance on my part. Only the word of God from the Holy Bible my Dear One. If this makes for a good argument then it means the Holy Spirit is working. God Bless.
@idahopaula "If a man commits adultery with another man's wife, both the man and the woman must be put to death. (Leviticus 20:10 NLT)". I'd like to ask..Do you agree with that passage?
@idahopaula Also, when John quoted Jesus (1900 years ago) as saying he will come “quickly.” (Revelations 22:7, 12 & 20), do you think John is now be getting a little bored of waiting?
To StaceyC123: Thank-you for labeling me. You do not understand born again christians as you are not one. You are making statements to me that are literally telling me what to do. Well, I do not need a "psychiatrist" as you spew your NASTY REMARKS to me on here. You need Jesus Christ in your life right now! Maybe, just maybe, you would be a nice person and more loving. Not a crude, heartless, secular, idiot. Why don't you go find the closest church to your residence and ask God to FORGIVE YOU!
To TDCamper22: Hello my Dear One. I'd rather be "brainwashed" as you so kindly judged me and graced me with your presence than to live forever in damnation in hell. Hell is very real my Dear and heaven is very real also. As far as my brain is concerned it "works just fine." Thank-you for your insight into my personality and my future on this planet. You are certainly amazing and it is something I expect from an "atheist" as I believe you "are in the dark" about the future events of this planet.
You are quite literally INSANE; you can't prove any of the components of the nonsense you believe, and there is no reason to believe those claims without evidence. Go talk to a psychiatrist, instead of spamming your superstitious nonsense.
@idahopaula how fucking ignorant, patronising and smart arsed are you....my dear. You clearly have just commented to provoke an argument, if you are a born again christian then thats pretty intolerable and ...... not very christian like, love thy neighbour ring a bell?
To fdasherv: Well, aren't we in a "grumpy mood" these days? You certainly have a way with words my Dear One. I will continue to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ until He returns in the clouds for his Bride-the church. I will be praying for you to come to Jesus & repent of your sins. My Dear, if you do not repent you will spend eternity in hell. It is a REAL place and Jesus does not want you to go there for eternity? Please, listen. Okay. You may cuss me out, but that will not stop me. Amen
@idahopaula I feel deeply sorry for you. You have obviously been brainwashed and it seems as though it is too late to save you from your own ignorance. I hope that the power of atheism can compel you to actually use your brain as nature intended it to be used. Amar
billions, fuck that, the total human pop is 7 billions, saying billions would say around half of the human population believe in the same thing, fuck that you can't even prove that
Well those billions arent the 90% of scientists who DONT. But really what the fuck do scientists know?
I mean, while you and I are sending faxes, working cash registers and waiting on people, scientists are oh I dunno...unlocking the fucking mysteries of the fucking universe?
@FirebrandNIRE which makes up about 2-4% of the scientific community. That's well within the statistical norm of deviation of error. Even those who do believe in a "god" are more Deists that anything else and often are of the mind that "God" whatever He/She/It may be it doesn't take a direct hand in the manipulation of the Universe.
@bigredphenom and we are also more advanced in our abilities of communication such that we don't have to necessarily bring ourselves down to the level of the vulgar masses and use profanity, it just denigrates our position of being the one with the proof on our side by being crass.
satire = exposing social flaws for the purpose of improvement, typically through sarcasm or wit.
profanity= insulting, rude, vulgar.
which do you think your response favors more obviously if you are intending to make a point to an already deluded mind which doesn't handle subtlety well?
@OkamsRazer are you suggesting that satire and profanity are incompatible? Of course I wouldn't curse someone out face to face, but this is the internet where this caller obviously won't hear what I have to say. Stop getting butthurt over a few curse words. In the words of Matt Dillahunty, "Words are are phonemes that dont hold any power"
@bigredphenom no what I am suggesting is that on the offchance that an actual theist was reading the commentary they are immediately going to shut out your sarcasm and logic by the fact they so readily clamp onto the idea of a belligerant athiest.
@OkamsRazer so what. If they are too offended by mere words to grasp the actual point then that's there problem. They need to focus on the claim instead of the character. The Atheist Experience is infamous for cursing, especially from Matt but nonetheless bring up brilliant points. BTW I am more than happy to offend Theists, their stupid beliefs only deserve such merit.
@bigredphenom not to mention that at one point everyone on the planet thought the earth was the center of the universe, that the earth was flat, and that sun went around the earth. they were all wrong.
To grumpyguts1967: Hi. How are you? I am praying you are well? God is "omnipresent" and "omniscence" because he has given all people a 'FREE WILL TO CHOOSE HIM." God does know ahead of time what ALL PEOPLE WILL DO AND SAY. He knows the number of hairs on every person's head dead and alive! Amen. And, he does NOT interfere with OUR CHOICES we make on earth. He WAITS to see if we are swayed by Lucifer and his demons which control this earth for THE TIME BEING. God already knows,he waits on us?
@idahopaula Hi. How are you? I am sacrificing a goat to your health. Thor is "hella strong" and "a mighty warrior" because he has given all people a 'SWORD ARM TO FIGHT WITH HIM." Thor does know ahead of time that ALL PEOPLE WILL FIGHT THE FIRE GIANTS. He knows the number of kills you get! Amen. And, he does NOT interfere with OUR CHOICES we make on earth. He WAITS to see if we are swayed by Loki. Thor is awesome.
To chuckwagon1645: So, you have LOL at me. Is that funny? You are stupid! God is "omnipotent" and he is "omnipresent"-meaning he KNOWS ALL THINGS. And, he does not KNOW man's free will as he put that free will into each human being since the creation of Adam & Eve. God gives man a choice to love him or reject him. God does NOT KNOW how each person will choose him or this fallen world that Lucifer currently is in charge of by God's hand. God gives us a choice-God or Lucifer? Heaven or hell? Amen
To deathman1021: No, Dear One, you are "twisted" , not God. I am going to give you some BIBLICAL TRUTHS about God Almighty in heaven sitting right now on the Beema Seat. God DID NOT know Lucifer would rebel in heaven from his PUFFED-UP PRIDE AND ARROGANCE. God DID NOT know Adam & Eve would be seduced spiritually by Lucifer and eat from "The Tree of Knowledge." God did not know any of this in advance. It is in the first book of the bible as God made all people to have a relationship with him.
@idahopaula you say god did not know that lucifer would rebel and that god did not know that adam and eve would be spiritually seduced by lucifer , therefore your god is not omniscient , all knowing.so when i hear fundies say god wins in the end , how does god know he wins if hes not omniscient?..by the way , you say god made all people to have a relationship with him , well its not not much of a relationship with the threat of hell hanging over our heads is it.
To GoatSkinner666: You may laugh now , but with the Mark of Lucifer"666" in your name here you will not laugh when Jesus appears in the clouds. God does not allow sin; we do. Lucifer brought "sin" into this perfect world God created. God sent his Son Jesus to die on the cross as a sacrificial substitute for all mankind. By his shed blood on the cross we are washed of our sins here if we except Jesus as our Savior. God does not take this all away, yet? He will. God wants us to choose him. Amen.
@idahopaula lets assume for a moment that there is a god,
some perfect world, the vast majority of it, and stuff living here, would kill us without technological developments that we created.
and think for a second, god has omnipotence, therefore he knows everything that has and will happen, he then created lucifer, knowing full well what would happen.
Then man, and the tree of knowledge, knowing full well what would happen.
Your god is a twisted sadistic little monster that revels in suffering.
@idahopaula Yeah thats a nice fantasy isnt it? The one where your hero comes on a white horse to save you and punish all us bad, immoral atheists? lol. Classic childish fantasy.
To MrSwedenik: God does not want to send anyone to hell my Dear One. He wants your affection and love. God set standards for all human beings to live by when he created this world and the first human-Adam. It is called the Ten Commanments. When Adam & Eve sinned in the garden that was the beginning of "sin" entering this perfect world God created. From there sin has been in the world and Lucifer is the father of all "sin". God sent Jesus to "redeem" us. God says choose Jesus; therefore no hell.
@idahopaula If he doesn't want to send us to hell than why does he do it??!!!! And on the same note why does he allow satan to rule the earth? Why doesn't he just get rid of him. See the contradiction? Thats one fucked up god lol
To richwfd2002: I do not make these spiritual rules here on earth my Dear One. God does. And, I am here trying to keep your soul from going to hell forever. God Loves you Dear. And, Jesus loves you. You are making a terrible mistake my Dear One by rejecting God. I do not believe in "therapy" as it is secular & of the postmodern and humanistic side of man's delusion here on earth. Please, I did not mean to upset you. God wrote these rules for mankind. I am simply obeying God as I love him. Amen
To Atheism924: I am sickened by your absolute hatred of God! May God forgive you of your words and evil mind. You are influnced by Lucifer-the fallen angel from heaven. HE HAS YOU! And, because you are under his influence I will pray for you everyday and ask God to heal you. Your thoughts belong to the devil in hell as you are a CHILD OF GOD, NOT LUCIFER! May God help you now! the devil and bring you back into the kingdom of God. The name of Jesus Christ has POWER TO CAST lUCIFER OUT!
@idahopaula We do not hate god. We hate willful ignorance, emotional attachment to belief without evidence ("faith"), lies, hypocrisy, arrogance, and emotional blackmail and threats of hell for innocent disbelief. All of these things are embodied in christianity and we rightly find them repugnant. Pray for yourself or better yet, get some therapy. Ever hear of Stockholm Syndrome? You sound like a classic case.
@idahopaula And because you have been down trodden and hate this life, don't expect others to live so cynically. The gospel writers never even met Jesus and no historian contemporary to him even mentions him. The original manuscripts have not been foundd and they were originally written anonymously with the church adding the names in later. It is all hearsay. If you were born in Saudi Arabia, you'd be prayin to Allah and screamin' that he is the "one true god". Get over yourself.
To ninjamojo711: I believe in God, Jesus Christ the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit (God's Spirit). Because I am a born again christian and have the "indwelling" of God's presence in my heart Jesus is with me all the time in Spirit. To witness something here on earth that is a manifestation from God one must know God and receive God and believe he is the Creator of this world. If you choose not to accept God or his Son Jesus Christ as your personal Savior God will NOT REVEAL himself to you. Amen
@idahopaula LOLOLOLOLOL STUPIIIIIDDDDD. Hey, you know a god that's cool? Flying Spaghetti Monster. Even if you don't accept him, he reveals himself to you that's why he's a better god than your half naked bleeding jew nailed to a piece of wood. Be touched by his noodly appendage!
To JackeShanTwo: Hello. My Dear One it is not based on "personal experience". It is not based upon secular teachings here in this world. I am talking about the "supernatural world" that exists with God, his only Son Jesus Christ, & the work of the Holy Spirit in a person's life. This can't be seen through scientific methods or any other method man has made here on earth. It is a choice you make to accept God and believe in him & Jesus. Of course I do not have the kind of "evidence"
@idahopaula You stated,[ " This can't be seen through scientific methods or any other method man has made here on earth. It is a choice you make to accept God and believe in him & Jesus"...]
....any and all other religions can make the same claim you just did.
FYI, there is no such thing as "Supernatural".
Thunder, lightning, earthquakes, shooting stars etc. all used to be consider "Supernatural". We are now able to explain them with science.
To Rabsputin: So, now I am a F fool? Wow! You are something aren't you with your nasty words on here. You make me sick with your cussing Dear One. Yes, I know my God is real and he is omnipotent. He is the First and the Last of ALL THINGS here on earth and in the universe. Dare I say this to you, but you are the fool! You are a fool because you REFUSE to acknowledge the power & majesty God. You insist on "evidence" based on scientific principles. Well, Mr. Mighty Mouth
@ImposingAtheist I ve seen Santa Claus Sat on his knee. He brought me presents. There is more evidence on the existence of Santa Claus that there is for god.
To Rabsputin: Thank-you for the cussing on here and your kind words Dear One. It shows your mentality and lack of knowledge. I am sorry for you. Yes, I do believe in something for greater than anything tangible here on this planet. You may call me names & curse like a FOOL until Jesus returns in the clouds for his church in the Rapture-which is coming very soon! One day you will see Jesus Christ in the clouds calling for his church to go home to heaven. Will that be tangible enough for you?Amen
Atheists will always point to "seeing is believing" and "evidence of something tangible" will cause me to believe in YOUR GOD? As a born again christian through the power of the Holy Spirit I have evidence multiplied a 1,000 times over and over. The atheists REFUSE TO SEE the non-tangible creation of God Almighty. They want someting that you can touch, feel, see , hear, and smell in order to BELIEVE God is very real! Amen. But, because the atheist is denying the WORKS OF GOD they will fail!
This know-all guy would not last me 3 seconds: "Sir, I cannot prove or disprove the existence of God. Can you prove God does not exist?"
Agnosticism is the only stance supported by science. The rest is just opinions and/or faith.

Radioswim 6 days ago
I think he forget's that there is no burden of proof. Not from my own words (although I agree with it) but from history of religious practice, a relationship with god is a personal experiance, it's something that can be shared, but the actuall relationship and belief is personal.
The disbelief or discrediting of something WITHOUT proof while demanding proof of that same thingis discrediting faith (a non religious idea) and is also discrediting trust. This idea I've just brought forth is inhuman.

Thenewfallingsacred 1 month ago
@Thenewfallingsacred Fred Phelps and his followers are far from insane. They're very clever. Their whole church is a financial scam. The whole point of what they do is to try to provoke someone into assaulting them so they can sue them for financial compensation. Fred Phelps has made a lot of money from numerous lawsuits doing exactly that.
DrChalkwithering 2 weeks ago
@DrChalkwithering - I would think you should take a second look at that freaky Fred. Have you ever heard one of his sermons? I think out of all of them if one of them is crazy, he definitely would be diagnosed legally insane. The rest of them yes they are greedy law abusers who love getting money from people. Fred.... He believes that God hates toast.. And when he said "The God RECTUM! and the great God PEANUT!" That was when I realized he may really be crazy.
Thenewfallingsacred 2 weeks ago
@Thenewfallingsacred I still suspect that he's just playing up to the media to create a kind of infamy around himself that makes it more likely that some young hot-head will take a swing at him when he goes to protest a soldier's funeral. While I am not myself a religiously devout person, I do disdain those who would go out of their way to persecute those who find religion a personal necessity, for whatever rationale (character fulfillment, happiness, what have you). I'm not saying this video or any of you constitute that kind of excessive attack on faith, but take care not to stray into hateful territory that you might hypocritically stereotype against an institution you believe purports prejudice itself.
jaylay734 1 month ago
@jaylay734 You're basically saying that even if there is no god, since religion can make a person feel good, it's still a good thing to have. *News flash*, it isn't. Think about the huge amount of time and money wasted in deference to religion. People go to church, people buy church clothes, people build big mega churches that can cost millions of dollars, and people make decisions based off their religious beliefs. If something hasn't been proven to be true, you shouldn't believe it!
Terry1212 1 month ago
@jaylay734 Hi, as a homosexual, I feel far more persecuted by religions than I think any atheist can be considered to persecute religion, at least in the present-day US. These false beliefs have a bloody history and will never be harmless. We not only have a right to fight back, we have a need to do so. They have far more power and influence than we do. I actually thought this was a very calm, rational, and compassionate statement from Dee.
MadBasstid 1 month ago 2

92bigreds 1 month ago
@92bigreds
You'll just deny it though
chaoszieg 1 month ago
@chaoszieg May I please ask what is the proof? And I know faith is very hard to understand, in fact for humans it is Illogical. But that is the point of faith ha ha

chaoszieg 1 month ago
@chaoszieg Actually everything in the Bible is correct. Nothing in the Bible has ever been wrong.
92bigreds 1 month ago
@92bigreds
Everything has been proven to be wrong. From genesis to revelations. It's all been proven beyond any doubt to be a steaming pile of shit. Course Christians try to avoid that from changing to "it's all literal" to "It's all allegory."
chaoszieg 1 month ago
@chaoszieg What proof is there? I'm just curious I'm not starting an argument.
92bigreds 1 month ago

So why talk about "proof" at all?
lease2coach1 1 month ago
@lease2coach1 I was just saying that the bases of Christianity is faith. The whole earth thing is an answer I give if someone wants proof. I believe with all my heart that there is a God and I know for a fact that Christ died on the cross for everyones sins. We deserve death but now we have a chance at everlasting life.
92bigreds 1 month ago
@92bigreds OK, thanks for clearing up that seeming contradiction!
I've actually encountered that elsewhere: Someone talked about believers' "being safe" i.e. *apparently* believing just to avoid hellfire. Then s/he clarified that that was not why *s/he* believed; it seems s/he said that just to "motivate" nonbelievers. There's a disconnect there...
I don't doubt the sincerity of *your* beliefs--why not be true to them, and just offer faith rather than "proof" (which will always be disputed)?
lease2coach1 1 month ago
If there was a debate between the atheist experience, and the most ..ahem.. knowledgable priests in the world. The atheist experience would win in a landslide especially with what Jeff just said here about how they have to prove to US there is a god..not the other way around.
Bainer55 2 months ago
Have to correct Jeff slightly, though it pains me:
If a god does NOT exist, people who believe that it does are wrong or lying only if they KNOW their god doesn't exist. If there isn't one, but we just don't know it, believers may be being truthful and aren't necessarily wrong.
This was "mild" for a Jeff rant - you should see him with the minister who rang in...
JMUDoc 2 months ago
@JMUDoc I know you stated you hate to correct him but you have unfortunately made a mistake in your attempt to correct (unless I am noy fully understanding your point).
He took into account those who are in a religion and are not true believers and use it as an opportunity to garner influence and authority over other people (as if THAT has never happened before). Also....
If there is no God, and we don't know there isnt, then the people ARE still wrong of course. Wrong OR Lying.

Atheists are very annoying people. Only stupid people believe things (i.e. existence of a physical "God" -- whatever) without proof but it is especially suspicious when a crusade-like movement is persistently trying to get people to say "there is no God". It poses the question of "what is their intent?"... the truth is that we don't know the truth on that scale or there wouldn't even be this argue-ment in the first place. ;0)
YoungHorusMedia 2 months ago
@YoungHorusMedia a crusade-like movement? So there are atheists torturing and killing people for believing in god? Maybe we're just trying to instill a little doubt in the faithful. There's nothing wrong with believing in a deity, But there's a huge problem if you believe you know there's a god and you know what it want. Doubt is humility, and some people really need a bit more humility.
MrRewind86 2 months ago

tellnet 2 months ago
@YoungHorusMedia From why I can see here (and stated in new Atheism) is : "There is no valid evidence for any God(s), therefore there's no valid reason to believe in any"
Anyone who claims 'there is no God(s)' is making a belief claim on faith.
To note : I'm not an Atheist. I'd rather label myself based on what I do believe (on evidence) than what I don't believe (because there is no evidence)
TheHigherVoltage 2 months ago
@TheHigherVoltage
First of all "God" is a very subjective term that means various things to different people. God to me means the creator/originator force for something. Anything. I make no assumptions about the nature of this force in any scenario (e.g. it may not even be conscious). By my definition of "God" there is evidence of God or Gods everywhere.
YoungHorusMedia 2 months ago
@YoungHorusMedia I agree 'God' is a subjective term. However, by your definition, since I'm the creator/originator of this message, I am now a God.
By your definition, everything is arguably 'God'.
TheHigherVoltage 2 months ago
@YoungHorusMedia when "Everything" is God, how is that any different from "Nothing is"?
bigglyguy 1 month ago
@YoungHorusMedia Yeah, their intent was to kill off any non-Christians since it was God's word to do so. "Atheists are very annoying"? Maybe it's because you lack the intellectual capacity to actually critically think for once, to actually think for yourself, free from the influences of how you were brought up.
herpderpmonkey 1 month ago
@herpderpmonkey
YoungHorusMedia 1 month ago
@YoungHorusMedia village1diot is force feeding ideas and spreading a religion? Yeah, believe in atheism or you'll burn in hell (oh wait, i mean we'll make fun of you so you get your feelings hurt)
It's not a matter of right and wrong, it's a matter of empirical evidence and critical thinking (and religios people's lack of it). Religious people get butt hurt because they feel like atheists are condescending-- what does that have to do with right or wrong? It has NO bearing on it.
herpderpmonkey 1 month ago
@YoungHorusMedia It's like a thing a child would do to cop out of an argument, a complete side-stepping non sequitur. If anything, any rational thinker who actually inquired their spiritual needs would believe in a god that wasn't associated with any of the established bullshit religions.
You know why atheist sound condescending to Christians? We actually read the Bible and know the nonsense that's in there. We have a right to say "we know more than you"

@herpderpmonkey (cont) However, I disagree that we should steal whatever satisfaction they derive from turning to god. I am a gay atheist who experiences the love and commitment of two religious parents, and I would punch anyone who speaks disrespectfully of my parents about their religion, because they haven't done anything to harm anyone else nor have they shoved down their beliefs down anyone else's throat.
hislord1 1 month ago
@hislord1 You do realize that your parents' love for you as a gay child has nothing to do with any of the religious dogma that preaches that gays are condemned to hell and that homosexuality is a sin, right? It's your parent's love for you. I know you feel like you have to defend your parents. My parents are at the age of passing on and they believe in heaven. Obviously, I'm not going to tell them there is no afterlife. But that's no excuse to progress in humanity and service truth.
herpderpmonkey 1 month ago
@hislord1 (cont) Where is the intellectual integrity in saying that religion should exist because it provides some bullshit comfort? What about all the hate religions cause? I hope for progress in humanity, where people like us will pass on the notion of free-thinking to the future generation. America is Christian, there's no denying it. Politicians, media, social environments, all stigmatize atheism as devilry. THAT is the true injustice and why many atheists are "militant".
herpderpmonkey 1 month ago
@herpderpmonkey I don't recall pointing out that religion drives their love for me. Yes, I wholehearted agree with you that religion has and continues to cause a lot of problems. As far is religion having a discriminatory stance against people of a different lifestyle, yes, it must have its false authority rendered void. If it isn't causing any harm, or preaching bigotry against others, then why not let others believe in it?
hislord1 1 month ago
@hislord1 Because religion IS causing harm. Individually, you may not see the harm from your good-natured friends and family. But there are fundamental beliefs of Christianity that are inherently flawed and wrong. In other places, many people use the Bible as hateful ammunition. Ever heard "Good people do good, bad people do bad, but religion causes good people to do bad"? The only reason people don't want gay marriage is because of their ignorant hatred from biblical preaching.
herpderpmonkey 1 month ago
@herpderpmonkey In response to the original content that we were discussing, I am unsure of what you are saying, pardon me for that. I am, however, able to respond to some of the points you made. I agree with you completely about the bible being a terrible source for morality. Therefore, people have to be educated about such matters. However, there will be the good natured people who don't deserve the same treatment as the other religious nuts.
hislord1 1 month ago
@herpderpmonkey (cont) My contention doesn't lie with the removal of the power that religion holds over the masses, but with the attack on those who are religious and want to live peacefully and see their beliefs as a guide unto themselves and not others. Do you see where I am going with this? Take Ron Paul for example, as wrong as he might be, he believes you are free to do as you wish with your own penis/vagina. He might or might not see the bible as a guide only unto himself.
hislord1 1 month ago
@herpderpmonkey (cont) As disappointed as I am that he turned out to be an 'unbeliever' in the theory of evolution, I will give him the benefit of the doubt, since he is far more reasonable than most of the religious population. hislord1 1 month ago
In the words of Ron Paul "It is non of our business what people do".
hislord1 1 month ago

@hislord1 yeah because obviously atheism makes people believe in its ideology so much that they hate, fight, and even kill one another for their belief. We're clearly jut as bad as religion.
Religion is on a similar plane as slavery in the 18th century. If you knew that a belief system is morally and logically flawed and is causing damage to society, is it not the least bit of your responsibility to try and stop the injustice for the sake of humanity?
herpderpmonkey 1 month ago

How does debating someone have any bearing on the validity of their claims? Oh and I would like evidence that God does not exist.
Temptuous2112 2 months ago
@Temptuous2112 It's impossible to give.
MrFungus420 2 months ago
@MrFungus420 The fact is one person can know something another person does not. If someone saw "bigfoot" for example, does that person have to prove the creatures existance in order for it to exist? Can something exist without us knowing about its existance, of course.
Temptuous2112 2 months ago
@Temptuous2112 What does that have to do with the fact that it is impossible to provide evidence that no god exists because of the malleability of the claims?
MrFungus420 2 months ago
@MrFungus420 God is a multidimensional being who created everything that we can observe, and all that we cannot.
There is a definition, there is no way to dispute the validity one way or another.
Temptuous2112 2 months ago
@Temptuous2112 Exactly my point. That is ONE definition of many.
And it is a worthless definition. Each part of it needs to be justified

These are literal.
idahopaula 2 months ago
To jamesvolunteer: God does not want to punish or kill anyone. He wants your love and to have a relationship with all people-individually. God loves us and desires for you and for me to love him back. God will admonish and punish "sin" especially when a person goes out and will "sin" on purpose-like the Jewish people when Moses was leading them through the desert. No, the wiccans and psychics should not be killed as Jesus would say, "you are delivered and healed. Now, go and sin no more." Amen!
idahopaula 2 months ago
@idahopaula I think though, even you might see the irony of punishing fornication, with rape..or sorcery with being stoned to death? I may sound like an Atheist here, I'm not. I don't like to label myself. I'm probably closer to agnostic, and my Grandparents were very devout Christians, so I do respect Religion in a lot of ways. I do get frustrated though, with, what I see as contradictions and hypocrisy. God wanted those wiccans killed at one stage. Whats changed? .......
jamesvolunteer 2 months ago
@idahopaula I think you'll say it all changed with Jesus, but wasn't Jesus God incarnate really? Presumably God knew what was happening down here before, so what changed his mind when he came as Jesus? How did he turn from jealous and vengeful, to all loving and not wanting punishment over the course of just 33 years?
jamesvolunteer 2 months ago
@idahopaula And also, (hopefully i'm not being too irritating), but you didn't answer my point about the people that believe the bible to be literal and accurate. What are your thoughts on this?
jamesvolunteer 2 months ago
To jamesvolunteer: God punished the Israelites because they were worshipping "false idols like the Golden Calf, committing adultry, fornication, seeking out witches, or sorcery, and basically breaking most or all of the Ten Commandments. They did not OBEY THE WORD OF GOD given to Moses and Aaron, his brother, and the 12 Levite priests as they wandered for 40 years in the desert. Remember James, God brought these Jewish people out of 400 years of slavery in Egypt. God protected them & feed them.
idahopaula 2 months ago
To jamesvolunteer: About Exodus and "sorcery." God was speaking here. God told the people not to have any contact with witches, sorcerers, etc. as these powers come from Lucifer and the pit of hell itself. Example. In the Book of Kings, "The Witch of Endora" was summoned to contact Samuel, the Prophet. This is called "necromancy" and it is an ABOMINATION to God. These are evil and come from Lucifer-the fallen one-son of the morning star. There are "wiccans, psychics", etc. in our culture now.
idahopaula 2 months ago
@idahopaula Well, maybe you can see then some peoples exasperation when some Christians profess that the bible is 'the 'accurate and literal'. Your explanation, especially for the first passage I mentioned means at best that it was literal thousands of years ago. And really, just because its an old law doesn't really change a thing. The will of God at one stage, was for men to murder, rape and pillage you're saying? Even if it was all that time ago? Why would a God want that?
jamesvolunteer 2 months ago
@idahopaula So do you think those Wiccans and Psychics should be killed?
jamesvolunteer 2 months ago
@jamesvolunteer Well, I wouldn't go as far as killed but if someone was to run Slyvia Browne and John Edward out of town, I could live with that.
Smithpolly 2 months ago
@Smithpolly True, but I said Psychics, and I think with them, you could use that term fairly loosely I think!
jamesvolunteer 2 months ago
@jamesvolunteer I know some people genuinely believe that they have psychic powers but as far as I'm aware no one has provided indisputable evidence that this is the case.
Smithpolly 2 months ago
To jamesvolunteer: Regarding your question about John the Revelator. He was taken to heaven in his spirit to see the miracles of God and listen to God. He wrote the Book of Revelation and the Epistles of John 1,2, & 3. John was the oldest and last of the apostles. No, John did exactly what God told him to do knowing that he would be with Jesus forever in heaven. John knew Jesus would come in the Rapture for his Bride-the Church-at the appointed time. All 500 bible prophecies have been fulfilled.

@idahopaula Ezekiel
29:12 And I will make the land of Egypt desolate in the midst of the countries that are desolate, and her cities among the cities that are laid waste shall be desolate forty years: and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.
Didn't happen.
gamesbok 2 months ago
@gamesbok: Let me explain that passage to you. That is a "prophectic message" from God through his Prophet Ezekiel for the "future tense." This will happen in the future during the reign of Antichrist coming in the near future. After the Rapture of the church God will destroy Egypt as "prophesied" 500 years BC. This "hook in the jaw" passage previous to the one you quoted me means God will take away their oil (money) and scatter and destroy them. It will happen when Antichrist rises.

Which version of Harry Potter are you quoting ?

To jamesvolunteer: No, I do not agree with this primarily because this action falls under the "old laws" of the Old Testament. In those days God permitted this to happen as it was HIS WILL. When Jesus was born into this world as King of Kings and Lord of Lords he FULFILLED the Laws of the Old Testament. Jesus said to the adulterous woman,"Does any man here condem you?" No, she said to him. "Well, then, neither do I condem you. Go, and sin no more." Jesus changed that law. Read the Book of John.
idahopaula 2 months ago

I'd like to ask..Do you agree with that passage?
jamesvolunteer 2 months ago
@idahopaula Also, when John quoted Jesus (1900 years ago) as saying he will come “quickly.” (Revelations 22:7, 12 & 20), do you think John is now be getting a little bored of waiting?

@idahopaula And lastly.."You should not let a sorceress live. (Exodus 22:17 NAB)". Is this why you don't see many female magicians about?

FirebrandNIRE 1 month ago
@FirebrandNIRE which makes up about 2-4% of the scientific community. That's well within the statistical norm of deviation of error. Even those who do believe in a "god" are more Deists that anything else and often are of the mind that "God" whatever He/She/It may be it doesn't take a direct hand in the manipulation of the Universe.
OkamsRazer 1 month ago
@bigredphenom and we are also more advanced in our abilities of communication such that we don't have to necessarily bring ourselves down to the level of the vulgar masses and use profanity, it just denigrates our position of being the one with the proof on our side by being crass.

bigredphenom 1 month ago
@bigredphenom
satire = exposing social flaws for the purpose of improvement, typically through sarcasm or wit.
profanity= insulting, rude, vulgar.
which do you think your response favors more obviously if you are intending to make a point to an already deluded mind which doesn't handle subtlety well?
OkamsRazer 1 month ago
@OkamsRazer are you suggesting that satire and profanity are incompatible? bigredphenom 1 month ago
@bigredphenom no what I am suggesting is that on the offchance that an actual theist was reading the commentary they are immediately going to shut out your sarcasm and logic by the fact they so readily clamp onto the idea of a belligerant athiest.
OkamsRazer 1 month ago
@OkamsRazer so what. If they are too offended by mere words to grasp the actual point then that's there problem. They need to focus on the claim instead of the character.

To GoatSkinner666: You may laugh now , but with the Mark of Lucifer"666" in your name here you will not laugh when Jesus appears in the clouds. God does not allow sin; we do. By his shed blood on the cross we are washed of our sins here if we except Jesus as our Savior. God does not take this all away, yet? He will. God wants us to choose him. Amen.
idahopaula 3 months ago
@idahopaula lets assume for a moment that there is a god,
some perfect world, the vast majority of it, and stuff living here, would kill us without technological developments that we created.
and think for a second, god has omnipotence, therefore he knows everything that has and will happen, he then created lucifer, knowing full well what would happen.
Then man, and the tree of knowledge, knowing full well what would happen.
Your god is a twisted sadistic little monster that revels in suffering.

God set standards for all human beings to live by when he created this world and the first human-Adam. It is called the Ten Commanments. God sent Jesus to "redeem" us. God says choose Jesus; therefore no hell.
