  • @mizida2009 am gonna call ok

  • @mizida2009 Hello nice going

  • I can't tell you how many fucking prank phone calls I've made using this, lol

  • Free means free. I don't care if it's 2 cents or 10 cents, that's not free. Free means no fucking money! Costing money means I have to go through this long process of getting my credit card out and filling out a bunch of information just to use this. Sorry. This is not free.

  • @ryanmshepard92 Living inside the US or Canada you can call US or Canadian phones for free

  • Hellooo. What about Europe?! Wth.

  • YAAAAAAAY ANOTHER "AWESOME" GOOGLE SERVICE ONLY AVAILABLE WITHIN THE US!!!

  • @MrSkinnyBill Dude, it's in Canada too.

  • hiiiiiiiiiiiii

  • cool click the link at the end of the video it will take to to the website

  • Wassup?

  • next there would be no calling at all!

  • so what's the reasoning behind suddenly (and quietly) taking away the ability to make calls for people who aren't stateside??

especially after the big "Free calling in Gmail extended through 2011" song and dance on the gmail blog.

very sneaky by google and very annoying.

  • Does this work on windows 7?

  • @iammrdink yes

  • @DaRk1nP0s10n "Thanks"

  • Google Voice will stop being free according to google. Sucks for the rest of us

  • and they are taking the call phone option out for people except in canada and the US.. that feels like giving a chocolate and then snatching it out of my hand..

  • I just discovered a neat trick:

I activated Google voicemail on my regular cell phone. If I want to answer a regular call from the comfort of my computer, I reject/miss the incoming call, and then see my Gmail saying "incoming call" to pick up the phone call from the inbox.

I'm guessing it's because the voicemail number is your regular Google Voice number -- so a rejected or missed called gets "forwarded" to your Gmail phone when you have your inbox open. Neat trick for low signal areas!

  • at 0:29 he says WAZZAAAP

  • What are the headphones they are using to talk. I would like to use gmail to call people but I don't have one of those. What port would it plug into my computer?

  • I got a question... if you call a cellphone number in canada with gmail voice, will the person be charged for the incoming call? i love google <3

  • I got a question... if you call a cellphone number in canada with gmail voice, will the person be charged for the incoming call?

  • Love you so much Google

  • I love you Google.

Please, faster domination of the world.

  • @koppinho Ilove google

  • @42930Mr chup be Kuch bhi Bolta hai

  • wait a minute, this is free?

  • So what about for 2011?

  • To bad iChat doesn't support calling phones.

  • @Laurentdu75 it does

  • 702 834 8991

  • hey...im from the philippines..so if ill call someone in US i will pay?or the recipient will?or technically this free call is for US to US call only?

  • I called someone and they said the number (the Gmail) was in a different area code. Would the recipient have to pay extra for this?

  • @abobeck only if it's in a different country; you can call anywhere in the US for free

  • can you let me know i would place a phone call?

  • I don't have the "call phone" button. Does anyone know how to get it??

  • @TOTIN113 hello

  • TO CLEAR THINGS UP.

If you are in US and calling someone WITHIN US, then it's free.

IF YOU ARE NOT IN US, AND CALLING SOMEONE ELSE through Gmail Phone OUTSIDE US. *Cha-Ching* You need to pay.

    US > FOREIGN - PAY.

    US > US - FREE

    FOREIGN - US - PAY.

    GETIT? GOTIT? GOOD.

  • is it free?

  • @carstorm85 I just meant that those within the US can already make internet calls to US numbers for free via Gmail. There's no need for someone to go through all the stuff @fayaz469 describes if they live in the US and want to call within the US. Rates to call outside the US are very reasonable.

  • @beauhefley I meant free assuming someone has internet access. I use Google Voice and make most calls through that service on my Android phone. I pay a data plan to the wireless co, true, but I don't need to waste my wireless plan's minutes to make calls.

  • I love Google ads!

  • its not free because you have to have internet and internet costs money.

  • if, anybody want to call free US and Canada from Gmail, just ring my number +91 979 777 5477 , I will give youinstructions what sort of proxy application you need to download, that make your IP into, US IP, will be possible from your gmail to call USA/Canada anywhere free of cost....Remember you must have browser updated/ latest with addons /plugins installed......Asian/African/Australlian/Europeans/Asia Pasific/ Far Asia/Middle East and Other parts of world can ask me, I will help ...

  • @fayaz469 Can't you already call anywhere in the US for free?

  • @gardenwife depending on what your plan is with your telephone company

  • @gardenwife no where are u

  • @myajo265 I am in the US.

  • Nice. But why is this useful? It just replaces skype.

  • A video about phone calls with Gmail turns into an argument about cavemen? Seriously don't some people have something better to do then argue about cavemen on the internet?

  • is this really free, like im in toronto can i call someone for free in toronto?

  • A REVOLUTIONARY BREAKTHROUGH IN PRANK CALLING TECHNOLOGIES

  • I see many prank calls in the near future. Especially since it's free :)

  • Well there goes Skype

  • omg this video is lyk so darn cute:)

  • cavemen are at 1000000000000bc not 1000bc. someone bunked off their history test.

  • @AllsortsCast well... 1000bc. is a way better guess than yours... cuz 1000000000000bc the universe didn't even exist -.-

and in europe (german and nordic area) 1000bc... people DID live like cavemen -.-

but to be correct: people living in caves never was the usual thing... only in the ice age people used to live in caves for shelter... and that was around 12.000 years ago... so: 10000bc.

  • @Askowar well all right i did exaggerate a bit (or a lot!!) so yeah about 10000bc

  • google is the The Best

  • I prefer Google 411. SOO much better.

  • When will something like this be available for the iPhone? I'm NOT talking about GV Mobile, where it forwards calls to the native Phone.app and uses your service provider(AT&T or T-Mobile). I'm talking strictly Google.

  • I hope they make it available for ipod, iphone and ipad:)

  • Skype is better.

    BTW Cavemen at 10000 BC.

  • @joelibermann Nope.

  • Skype gets put out of business... Starting now.

  • after this, there might be google computers, phones etc. and later cars..

  • Funny!

  • u US people are so lucky, u got free calls in such a big nation

  • how do u bill the cost? is this billing facility available from Bangladesh?

  • LOL

  • I'm using it to call a mobile in Italy from Lebanon - it's billed 2 cents a minute. That's about 10 to 20 times cheaper then the regular international costs here. I can talk for hours. The only thing I don't like about it: I cant use it on my old PowerPC Mac.

  • funny video :D

  • No thanks. I'm not paying 10 cents a minutes!

  • @wallstreetyoung its free dumshit, as long as u stay within u.s. and canada

  • @flyboy188 no they arent. macs are the best computers in the world and are state of the art.

  • Wow, I got 65 thumbs up O_o

First time someone likes what I comment ;D

  • good!!

  • niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Can you make calls from your phone's gmail app ? I don't care about making calls from your desktop.

  • @bp22golf You can make calls from google voice

  • @IceAgeMikey2 With a Voip service? i'm trying to eliminate my voice plan.

  • @bp22golf I'm pretty sure, yes. I'd double check for you, but the wifi here at my school is iffy.

  • @IceAgeMikey2 yea looks like "Google Talk" was added to the list of "Phones to call" inside google voice. But, that's not really what I'm trying to figure out. Can you make or receive a call with google talk inside of your smart phone's browser? I know you can do it on your computer.

  • is this completely free?? besides calling from different country's?? because its says something about $0.10 so what happens if i call someone near my location? will i get charged a very small fee? or what

  • @vincent112233445566 no, the $.10 is just free credit so you can try an international call

  • @vincent112233445566

for calls in the USA and Canada, it's free.

For other places, they have extremely small fees (check out their international calling chart).

  • I'm sorry this is the tightest free phone ever!!!!! for those of you that can't understand that, are really afraid to come out of there Neanderthalness! and for those of you going to abuse it and make crank calls and thanking google for a great free service, Whats wrong with you? so far is pretty stable. have enjoyed many conversations with friends & family.

To the REST of you ENJOY! I have been in beta with grandcentral to google voice for over 7+ years now THX google! chk out Gizmo5 by google

  • @dyingjedi what would be the best usb phone to use for this?

  • well, it looks like people will be getting in influx of calls from the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Joe Pesci. Thank you google, for making prank calling 100 times easier!

  • lmfao if he would've thrown a rock at my ass, I woulda came out dat bitch with a bigger one, then we woulda seen what he had to say! xD

  • Holy shit I can call a real US phone through gmail? Lol I'm gonna prank call for raids.

  • @contourman

Appears to go under different area codes. Not private caller. You bet your donkey, they'll answer.

Google does record your activity and keeps the info (including sounds) on file forever, so don't take the prank too far.

  • nice :)

  • whazzuuppp!!

  • +1 for the commedy

I loved the voice of the people in the clip lmao

  • skype can already do this, obviously.

  • @padn1

Gmail Phone is free for a year.

Please keep in mind you can call to a REAL phone from your computer.

Currently Gmail Phone is the only free service that *doesn't drop* real phone calls.

Unlike Google's other phone services, its currently free as of 2010.

Works in Canada as well, because I'm Canadian.

  • @hawasinghyadav10

I got your pm, could you say that in english. Otherwise don't spam my inbox.

  • they probably track everything for the nsa

  • Wow this is free? I think the world just got flat.

  • Comment removed

  • can some one call my gmail phone?

  • @LTWproductions1

No, since you would need a Number to call out to Gmail. Currently as of August.2010 , you would need to pay for one of Google's services to do that.

  • I tried calling my own phone with this, and I got charged for calling long distance. Thanks, Google!

  • @SonicLuigi000

showed up on your actual phone bill?

  • @CrewRite Yup.

  • click $0.10>History>Delete Phone Number

  • Gostei Tem Criatividade.

  • so hows it work google

  • @geebones

You click on Call Phone in your Free Gmail Account (just sign up if you need), it will ask you to install a web driver, double-click download, go step by step and your done. Go back to Gmail and Type in any area code+phone number, within U.S. or Canada, depending on who you want to call.

Your Canadian friends can call you too, HeHe.

Free Local And Long Distance in North America.

  • in its official blog google said :Calls to the U.S. and Canada will be free for "at least" the rest of the year.. so expect some charger starting from the next year.. and because im from an other country, i will be waiting google voice with or without charge, cause i am sure it will be at least as better as skype.

  • @boujphoenix agreed, and unless it has a deal for the subscriptions itll still lose to skype

  • it cost to call

  • lol,

K, click $0.10 and click History to delete your phone number.

  • Gmail / Call Real Phone / U.S. + Canada / 0$

Ran it for free for 10mins. and call didn't drop.

    Microphones Are Cheap

WARNING: It does not appear you can delete phone numbers.

  • I want my free G-Mobile phone service and phone!

  • their voices make me laugh, haha xD ^^

  • great if i don't have my phone with me, and it's free

  • This is hardly a Skype ripoff. 1) Skype wasn't the first either, and 2) Skype isn't free to call nationwide.

  • Cavemen at 1000 BC? Someone skipped history class

  • @Colteee google people fail!

  • @Colteee yeah, that's why they took up modern communication technology instead.

  • @Colteee Yeah.. and arts classes.. And come to think of it, Google employees certainly are too stupid to google "caveman".. lol

  • This isn't a Skype ripoff in any way... (sarcasm)

  • Yay... I can make and receive free calls from my computer. But only if I have my browser open... And stay logged into Gmail...

Hurry up with the damn desktop app already!

  • Make this available in Canada, and I'm switching to Gmail.

  • @RustySporks It is available in Canada... (free to US & Canada)

  • @ericeng91

The calls are free to the US and Canada. The service is not available in Canada, however.

  • @RustySporks

lolz, I'm in Canada and Gmail Phone works.

Unlike other free phone services, the Gmail Phone doesn't drop calls, left it going for 10mins.

Unlike Google's other phone services, this one is free and unlike Skype its free.

Its free within North America, Canada is in North America for those that didn't pay attention in geography class.

  • @CrewRite

Weird. It doesn't work for me.

  • @RustySporks

Works on my end in Canada , must be a computer problem or you didn't set something up right.

lol, unless it only works in certain towns or cities.

  • @CrewRite

I made a new Gmail account and it worked.

Something must be wrong with the old Gmail account. :S

  • @RustySporks

Remember to click $0.10 and History to delete your phone number. Go to the trash and empty in Google Voice.

Google probably does record data and voice, but at least if someone breaks in, they won't be able to see number visible.

  • Skype must of shit themselves. I hope Google does not make everyone pay like Skype did. FUCK YOU SKYPE!

  • @LegoInc

    what an idiot!!!!!!!!

it's a business and the purpose of a business is to make a profit.

YOU go and invent something and give it a way for free... common, we're waiting...

  • @daad9000 Was the Idiot calling necessary, But you never know.. Google is a Multi-billion dollar corp.

  • @LegoInc skypes awesome dont down it lol

  • @LegoInc Moron.

  • Cool, thanks!

  • Isn't Google the world best research engine then why is then why do they put 1000BC

  • @VideoLogDotCom just a cartoon man.lol
