  • @bland8976 - the ball top was made for japanese arcades while the long "bat top" was made for american arcades now its all personal preferance

  • why are there two kinds of joystick the round ball and the flat stick bouth were shown in the vid

  • HEY LOOKS LIKE MY PENIS WHEN I PLAY WITH IT

  • I HAD ALOT OF STICKS THAT ARE SANWA OVER THE YEARS AND I FOUND OUT THAT SEIMITSU ARE BETTER AND ALL I PALY IS SSF4. PEOPLE SAY NEGATIVE THINGS ABOUT SEIMITSU AND SAYING THE SANWAS ARE BETTER BUT I TRY IT MYSELF AND SEIMITSU BLOW SANWA AWAY. NOW I HAVE HORI REAL ARCADE PRO EX-SE AND IM BETTER THAN EVER IN SSF4 AND NEVER GOING BACK TO SANWA. BY THE WAY HORI MAKES BETTER STICKS THAN MADCATZ .,.JUST PUTTING IT OUT THERE.....

  • HRAP EX-SE rocks man, I just love the overall tighter feel of seimitsu buttons and sticks. These 2 just don't compare though, since the X-arcade is a more casual playing device in my opinion (which of course does work well).

  • i just bought an xarcade tank stick to work with my emulators ,it is the best ,no dought !

  • is mad catz sticks any good?

  • TE stick is epic. :)

  • HELP: I want to buy a stick!

But Wich Hori stick is better for Xbx 360 ?????

Hori Real Arcade Pro EX SE

or the Hori "Death-Smiles Arcade Stick????

    Thanks for an anserd!!!

  • They are exactly the same other than the color and one has collectors value. So I would go for Death Smiles so long as you aren't intending on modding it (keep it, sell it in 5 years time when Death Smiles is more known and is worth being put as a collectors item).

  • I have read in Internet:

The Seath Smile Stick have a Controll Stick from the producer: SAVANA but the buttons are normal cheap Buttons from Hori. The Pro EX SE looks like the Death Smiles Stick but the the Controll Stick and all the buttons are from the prodicer "Seimitsu"

But thanks for your anserd!! Greetings!

  • Sorry, it seems I misread it. I seems that the hrap:ex se does have all Semitsu parts but the Deathsmiles does have the Sanwa JLF although with the cheap buttons (which you can mod but I don't recommend it). Obviously, if you are going to use it for quality, then go for the Hrap:EXSE otherwise if it is for show then the Death Smiles.

  • @shadow2bolt, correct this time :D

  • @Aitor 10 months late.

  • @shadow2bolt... sorry but you are wrong.

  • @jalleki12, EX-SE as it has all of its components Seimitsu.

  • @jalleki12, get the EX-SE because unlike the Deathsmiles stick, the EX-SE has all of its components Seimitsu.

  • Pr0n on YouTube!

  • arcade stick porno FTW glad i got the HRAP

  • Should properly compare either the sanwa stick with a happ stick or the x-arcade stick with a hori stick. This is like comparing a gold bar to a turd.

  • lol is like watchin soft porn

  • haha

  • lol no XD

  • Lol, nice vid. Slow-mo was tight.

  • would I recommend the X-Arcade to an experienced 2D gamer? Yes indeed, but the $30-$35 Competition upgrade from HAPP is mandatory. X-Arcade lifetime warranty helps too, but I've never had to use it except for new anti-skids on the bottom.

  • There is absolutely no input lag whatsoever when the X operates as a keyboard. Do not use the USB connector, you will experience some lag. Always use the PS/2 connector. I have a HRAP which I use with my PS2, but I prefer the X-Arcade for online game play. The Competition buttons are a tad bit more stiff than the Hori buttons, but the Competition stick/shaft is less stiff than the Hori stick/shaft.

  • I'm a long-time X-Arcade customer (6 years) and online GGPO/2DF gamer. In stock form, the X-arcade is a good stick for those transitioning from gamepad to arcade stick. What makes the X-Arcade inferior to Hori is that Hori sticks need little to no modifications to achieve maximum performance. On the other hand, to make the X-Arcade an AWESOME stick you will need to spend an additional $30 @ HAPP for the Competition stick, Convex buttons, and the Competition switches.

  • Is X-arcade good for casual players?

I don't play many fighting games, but I don't want something thats really laggy and not precise.

Some people say that the X-Arcade is not laggy at all when you use it on analog mode, is it true?

Im planing on using it on my PS3 and a few emulators on my PC.

  • eat ass Aitor

  • x arcade is the worst stick the only good thing is if you customize it then its worth it

  • Message me when you make the video for the SFIV TE vs. HRAP EX-SE

  • I doubt the Mad Cat z TE will ever arrive to Japan, unfortunately...

  • @Aitor yet the EX-SE with the seimeitsu parts was US exclusive no?

  • @foxworthy21, the EX-SE first came out on February 2009 and was originally sold only at Hori's website (Japan) and a few online retailer but was sold out immediately. At the moment, you can buy it pretty much anywhere. Amazon had it for as low as $70-$80 at one point.

Funny thing, the EX-SE still sells second hand for as much as 13,000yen in Akihabara... crazy!!

  • X arcade is crap for me...

the bouncy stick and concave button make games stinks....

    try playing dodonpachi with x-arcade...

    u know what it means.....

  • concave buttons are the ONLY buttons, get your bullshit candy cab joysticks outta here.

  • I like X-Arc because of the warranty and compatibility as well as the ability to customize it.

The X-Arcade stick isn't very good. If you replace it with a Sanwa or even a better Happ you'll notice a huge difference and probably save money in the long run.

  • I thought this was already common sense, but X-Arcade had a great idea, but failed due to lag inputs.

Its good enough for games that don't really need PRECISE button presses.

  • Nice effects! a good comparison. I personally use the X-arcade due to the warranty, and the price. I'm sure HORI sticks are awesome, I just don't like spending a ton of money when I'm casually playing.

  • Also with the Xbox 360 hori sticks the button layout annoys me, i like the 3 punchs on top and 3 kicks on bottom, but it's not.

  • if u ask me this video looks alot like joystick porn!

  • lmao

  • jlenayc you watch your fucking mouth

  • X Arcade is not a good quality stick it doesn't have real american Happ Parts. Their PCB's also lag most of the times. Is just better to hack a ps1 pad and put it in the stick and get yourself some good converters that don't lag. on the other hand HRAP EX2 Simitsu editon rock. I prefer sanwa parts though, in my opinion they are better than seimitsu parts.

  • So is the Hori supposed to be better because the stick doesn't bounce back as much? I have a Namco PSX fighter stick with all Hori internals and I personally feel its just "meh" for a microswitch arcade joystick. How does the X Arcade joystick compare to another oval/cone/exclamation point shaped joystick, like, say, the Neo Geo MVS? I prefer that length and shape of joystick (I like to use a full hand grab rather than fingertips, its hard to do that with ball style joysticks).

  • the SE is not hori parts, they're seimitsu parts. Pretty large difference. And the stick bounceback is important, at least to me. I like to know that if I tap the stick, I don't have to worry about a bunch of feedback input.

  • well I can't really tap the joystick I have now because the piece of shit spins and my fingers roll off of it (i really hate that, but I don't think there is any way short of superglue that will fix it). What makes seimisu parts so special?

  • seimitsu is the company that manufactures the buttons and sticks for japanese arcade cabinets. Very durable and responsive. You could also buy a regular EX and take the Hori buttons out and put in seimitsu ones.

the sticks with SE at the end are for SEimitsu. The SA ones are for SAnwa, another japanese parts maker.

  • Its awkward at first, but a really high quality ball top stick is insane!! The effortless motion using your hand instead of your arm really makes a difference. At first you push like its a bat top but after a while you can see you just have to barely move your hand.

  • I just use my hand on bat style sticks...

  • Well with good ball tops you more use your fingers I guess is a better way to describe it.

  • ex-se for me please.... i enjoy ball-handle joysticks... and the fact that the bar that holds it its made of metal just won me over.... i dont like the feel of X-arcade... its just... plastic-ish : / i know ex-se is plastic but still has a strong feel to it... idk man reminds me of miss pacman arcade joystick

  • Strangely arousing video

    wat

  • the x-arcade is a low tier stick. it's not better than the ex-se, or any other stick that actual arcade parts (not clones).

  • x-arcade is better, its quality is great for 130 bucks,it's very sturdy and it works with xbox, xbox 360, ps3, mac, pc, linux, dreamcast, ps2 and more

  • From my experience X-Arcade is not as bad as some people say. Maybe I got lucky because I never had a problem with it after 5 years of use and taking it with me from the US to Japan. Now, compared to the HARP EX-SE, the difference is quite big. I'll keep my X-Arcade so my kids can train smashing it like crazy!

  • yeah, x-arcade can take quite a beating, hehe. like the website says, it's built like a friggin tank!

  • joysticks different too

  • The difference between the EX and the EXSE are the buttons which are easily modded the rest is the same

  • EX SE is full Seimitsu parts as well.

  • theHori Real Arcade Pro EX Sanwa stick the same as the real arcade street fighter 5 and hori

buttons just change the hori buttons to 8 Sanwa OBSF-30 buttons and if really crazy you could

change the start to Sanwa OBSF-24.

Sanwa stick you could all so change the gate to

    sanwa GT-Y Octagonal Restrictor Plate.

    lizardlickamusements sells the parts cheap.

or at lest thats what i going to do :)

  • check IGN Hori Stick & Madcatz Sticks reviews,

Madcatz propelled the Quality to new level

  • IGN didn't do a review for the Hori Real Arcade Pro EX-SE...they reviewed the Hori Real Arcade Pro EX...BIG Difference.

  • Sorry but the IGN review doesn't talk about the HRAP EX-SE version which is build with arcade components, in this case Seimitsu (for both the stick and buttons). So if I have to compare the HRAP EX-SE with the Mad Catz Tournament Edition FightStick, I'll say both are pretty balanced in terms of component quality because at the rest, Mad Catz is just terrible and reliable, just check the complains of people who got defective TE sticks.
