Just because he's going to Harvard doesn't mean he's amazing at violin. He is good, but you shouldn't try to show him off that way. If you wanted to do that, try using a conservatory.

no rattling chains solo not very together violens not balanced could have been alot better we just played this tonight i will post a video soon hopefully... also the solo was meant for oboe the melady was good though the cellos were supposed till four at measure 97 but they were coming in early 97-101 i'll give it a 4/5 overall for high school it was decent

don't worry about it, chances are people not going to notice that much, since there are so many people in the Orchestra.

Anyway, overall 'good job' on this. I like Pirates of the Caribbean music, my friends and I had lots of fun couple years ago playing the first one. And we still remember how to play it today without music. This show how much a fan we are. ^_^

I actually said "WTF" to my stand partner, lol. Of course, I am in violin, so no one notice, ^_^

Yeah, I have to admit he is not that prepare for the solo. He got the solo only because he is a Senior. The 2nd seat cello do a much better job and is more prepare. But sadly, she is a Junior and only get to play the solo a couple times. Because our conductor always honor Senior more than other underclassmen.

I think it's just that the way Scheherazade is written. It is too classical for some people, I like more modern music. One of the judges gave us a perfect score in that, so, I guess it wasn't our Orchestra's fault. just personal taste.

Seems like we are in similar ground, we also only have around 5 full rehearsal before this concert. And my violin is only $30, so crappy, lol.

We are just proud of our Orchestra, lol.

Anyway, congrat on you guy's rating of 'Outstanding", just found out today.

Everyone have different opinion.

Because in my point of view, my school's Orchestra receive more award than anyone. For every Orchestra competition we went to, we receive 1st place. We also got honored by PMEA and performed at Valley Forge. And also we went to Italy and was honored enough to hold a press conference with the mayor. Next year, we also got invited to play side by side with the Philadelphia Orchestra. This is just to name a few.

You can't compare, every Orchestra is different.
