  • war is the only solution with these fuckers.Thats the only way to get rid of em.Sad but true!

  • Brilliant. And he had yet to be cursed by coming up with bullshit like The Island - but that didn't stop his idol Famous Seamus Heaney, licking all the right arses until you win the Nobel Prize. Good man Paul.

  • This version is so much better than the 'full electric band' version!

  • truth

  • Edgy !!!!!

  • Rings so many bells this one! Excellent Mr Brady. Maybe we laid blocks together!

  • Good as it gets

  • That's a stunning version! I know the song from the Hard Station album but I've never heard this before. Where's it from?

I've been at some of Paul's solo live gigs and it's amazing how he can play all of his songs with only his guitar accompaniment and yet you still feel that NOTHING IS MISSING!! This is a good example - it's just as good on its own terms as the full band recording.

PB is a true musical genius.

  • (PS I do know that there are two instruments here but the point that I'm making is that the "unplugged" version easily stands up to the full electric band arrangement.)

  • @GerryMATW

Possibly from "Bringing It All Back Home" 2CD set by BBC (1991)? I had recorded some tracks on an audio cassette years ago, Paul Brady's is the one I like best. The original 2CD set isn't available any more, but this track can be found on Disc 1 of the new edition. Great song indeed!

  • @0791innavoig Thanks.

I'll need to investigate that one. :)
