The etherealness (?) of this song totally reflects the tone of the show. Spacey, with a little cylon/six theme lurking in the background. It was this scene and music that hooked me onto the series.
Wow the first episode had the most dramatic songs OMG it makes me wanna watch the whole 1st season again. I couldnt Imagine how i would react to such losses in not even 3 days tops :(
This is exquisite, and I don't use that word lightly. I purchased the CD when it was released and since lost it...hearing it here is fantastic. It's such an evocative piece of music and perfectly captures the essence of the entire series as well...it's poignant, it's harrowing, it's truly, honestly sad! I also like the way this takes me back to those breathless moments of watching the miniseries for the first time, marveling at how frakkiin' AWESOME it is!!! This is GORGEOUS.
It's a shame the morons at NBC decided to pass on this kick ass show(but they picked up Knight Rider 3 1/2 years later instead). They deserve to be in 4th place in the Nielsen ratings. This is the best track from the whole mini-series.
Very true. As far as I can remember, NBC only showed the miniseries and the last three episodes of Season 1 because Season 2 was about ready to start on Sci-Fi. They don't have a clue as to what to do as far as kick ass programming
NBC didn't pass on BSG they own the SciFi channel. And because it took place in space and originated with a real SciFi show they decided to put it on a lesser channel, it would have been more popular had it been on NBC
One of my most favourite tracks of the original soundtrack.
In fact, the only reason I bought the CD in the first place. It is also one of the most moving scenes in the mini series. Like when Capt. Kelly movies between the dead bodys of his fallen comrades, holding on to their dog tags (identity disks).
yeah that was a moving scene. also geada navigates the galactica through the ion storm to safely dock to ragnar station which adama tells tigh shes a super bitch to dock on to lol.
Lords of Kobol...hear my prayer!!

I am very glad that someone is continuing to listen to some of the best music to come of this show.

but look at the rest of genre. trite, predictable, generic stories about shooting monsters.

I don't get why Sci Fi is scorned, Battlestar Galactica is the best sci fi show ever since Star Trek launched Sci Fi over forty years ago

This is my single FAVORITE piece of music in the whole series; and this is from a series that is positively LITTERED with gorgeous music!
Kudos to Richard Gibb and Bear McCreary!
