  • i liked it, they could have made it a little better but hey, its hollywood, atleast they didn't make it like batman and robin

  • I kind of liked the Green Lantern movie. I mean the details on Oa were kind of perfect and the story was pretty okay. I liked the way they really captured Hal's character and he and Carol's interactions and everything was pretty great overall. My only complain was Parallax and the other dude. I felt that the whole fight and the events leading up to it was pretty rushed. Like they were all "Oh crap we're out of time. Hurry Hal go beat Parallax alone!" Other than that it was pretty awesome.

  • Maybe it wasn't the best movie released last summer, but it was alright. I think it needed a little more drama and a little less of the comedy, but over all it was good.

  • im think ryan reynolds is regretting passing on the deadpool movie

  • Uh... I actually liked the Green Lantern movie so...

  • GREEN LANTERN WAS GOOD

  • i love ryan reynold o_o and im 15 xD

  • I thought Green Lantern would be good and Thor would be bad... I was surprised, it turned out to be just the opposite. Maybe DC should just stick to Batman, he's the only DC character with good movies, then again, before the reboot the series was as bad as Green Lantern

  • Green Lantern: I can't believe this is happening!!

Deadpool: I can't wait for the reboot

    NOT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • THE FREAKING PENGUIN MOVIE IS FRESHER THAN MINE WHO REVIEWED IT DANNY DIVITO LOL!!! OH GOD MY RIBS AR HURTING AHAHAHAHAAHAH LOOL

  • Hey RandomGuy, nothing to say about the new 52?

  • The race track was alright, but I agree that it is pretty unremarkable and I really would rather have had a deadpool movie, because if anybody can screw up deadpool(which they probably could/will) THEN decent comic book movies are probably done for good.

  • Personally, I didn't mind it all that much. I'm just ticked how it wasn't very canon. And maybe Ryan Reynolds wasn't the best choice.

  • It wasnt terrible. Believe me, compared to something like 'Daredevil", it stands on its own. Plus hey, it set up Oa, the mythos of the Green Lantern Corps., introduced the notion of the yellow energy and why parallax was involved, AND set up for a sequel involving a much better villain and MAYBE the Sinestro Corps. war. who's to say we can't get the Red and Black lanterns involved in a third movie? the only thing i see is possibilty moving forward. Spider man 1 was ok. everyone remembers 2

  • I'm not gonna say Green Lantern was bad... mainly because all of you already said that.

No, I wont say that. But I will say it was forgettable.

  • and I cant believe its not butter!

  • Me: that movie suck

    Friend: I KNOW RIGHT!

  • The green lantern movie reactions:

Early part of the movie: Okay...

    Middle: meh.

End: THEY KILLED PARALLAX? What The Hell!?

post-credits:... They can't even get how he became leader of the Sinestro Corps right? screw it, I'm gonna go rewatch Batman Begins.

  • @Reficuls HA did that last night

  • It is good

  • I liked Green Lantern

  • The movie was pretty bad. The girl from Gossip Girl did not do anything in the movie, Hector Hammond was laughable, and there was not that much character development. They should have made Sinestro or Parallax the villain.

  • I thought movie was pretty good, but I never saw a movie I really hated to be quite honest. I think that what would've worked was if Sinestro put the yellow ring on during the movie and then fought Hal at the end instead of some weirdo with a big head, who seems sorta like what they might make/have made The Leader look

  • i like green latern movie.

  • i used to watch these a looooooong time ago and i lost the channel, now i found it! I'm so happy :)

  • The Hal Jordan movie would have worked if they stuck true to the character's costume from the comics, spent more time training than a brawl near a fake sun and had made it either about Kyle Rayner or written Hal's character appropriately. There was nothing wrong with Ryan Reynolds-there was everything wrong with the production team! Geoff Johns signed off on that piece of crap when he should have been bitch slapping them ceaselessly with the wrath of an angry god!!!

  • @BaileofSolamnia probably because they are avoid green latern become captain libya (because libyan flag contain green and black) he he he kidding. overal green latern is a good movie

  • Frankly i think they should of taken out the gossip girl and had made destroh the villain.

  • My reaction to the Green Lantern movie : Ryan Reynolds has no right being in any comic book movie PERIOD! Because of him the movie was shit! I would rather sit through 24 straight hours of Batman and Robin then watch Ryan Reynolds butcher a classic hero like Green Lantern...Seriously.

  • My reaction to the GL movie: Meh, it was alright.

  • you might not read this but you've inspired me to start making videos like yours now. i will give you credit with every video i post up.

  • there were some very crappy DC and Marvel movie, one example would be BATMAN AND ROBIN for and DAREDEVIL. Marvel makes some really great movies but there is 1 GIANT DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE COMPANIES 1 DC tries to make alot of sequels from one movie GL is suppose to have 3 more movies Batman has like 20 movies including animated Where Marvel makes a few but powerful movies. Captain America gets no sequel and that movie was awesome. Personally, i love the comics they explain the movies' origins. :)

  • @battelfieldburns actually cap2 is getting a sequel

  • I really liked the movie, i just don't think Ryan Renolds is perfect for action movies...... except for when he was deadpool in xmen origins wolverine

  • I really enjoyed it, far more than I thought I would!

  • i actually enjoyed the green lantern movie even though the mask was awful

  • It was awesome I loved it.

  • Green Lantern movie was preety good!

  • i loved it

  • The movie was great, abit sloow but good still. Can't wait for a sequal!

  • I thought it was one of the worst movies of the year (and that is saying a lot). Personally I think the critics were to soft on the movie

The writing was horrible the dialogue was cheesy,

The GLs had a huge planet planet with large cool looking buildings and where do they have their meetings on a rock,

In the opening when they were telling the history of the GLC they just showed space, yeah it's not like it's a visual medium

They literaly made 5 minutes of the movie into a hot wheels comercial

  • just watched it. it was pretty decent

  • It sucked

  • I actually really liked the Green Lantern movie.

  • Personally, I thought the movie was alright albeit forgettable and unremarkable. You might enjoy it but you won't look back fondly at it like it's a classic. I'm not much of a fan of the comics but I've read a few and the movie didn't do them much justice. My biggest gripe was how little screen time Hal shared with the other GLs like Kilowog & Sinestro.

  • This video had more entertainment value than the movie.

  • He had a CGI suit not a real one, it's just down hill from there.

  • While Marvel's live action movies tend to beat their DC counterparts except for Batman, DC's direct to DVD movies are just amazing.

Green Lantern: First Flight is near perfect.

Batman: Under The Red Hood a brilliant Batman movie.

All-Star Superman, whilst not as good as the same named (BEST SUPERMAN COMIC EVER) it's based on will probably be a whole lot better than 2013's Man of Steel.

The live action Wonder Woman TV-pilot was a fail but 09's Wonder Woman animated movie was brilliant!

  • honestly i thought the green lantern wasn't as bad as people make it seem.

  • I'd love to have Deadpool deliver all my bad news.

  • Wait, did they thrash the movie BEFORE it came out!? Does NOT surprise me!

  • Just saw the DVD and wow it was bad. I just hope people still give the ugly cg cartoon a chance (yes its ugly...but still surprisingly awsome)

  • @deadpool12merc I can already tell by your name that your a marvel fanboy so this may hurt you. A LOT. The dark knight is the biggest superhero movie of all time. Sooooo..... Yeah marvel can suck it. (actually I don't mind marvel but the characters aren't as complex as the batman universe so I do prefer it)

  • @InsaneNightmarePanda Right you know... Because MARVEL has Iron Man, Captain America, Thor... I guess..., X-Men 1, X-Men 2, X-Men first class, Upcoming Avengers, Men in Black, and hopefully Deadpool.

Meanwhile... DC has one more Batman movie...

Yeah.... definitely.... DC nailed their movies down.

Because I will always see The Dark Knight as a Chris Nolan movie first... A DC movie second.

  • @MrMICHAELCABOOSE if you really want to get into this, Thor wasn't that good neither were all the other films. men in black yes but that wasn't strictly a marvel and was only inspired by it. And of course you'd view batman as a Christopher Nolan film because you obviously are a bit of a marvel fanboy (yes i'm a batman fanbo but my point is sound) the movies marvel releases aren't made by marvel there made by companies like sony

  • @MrMICHAELCABOOSE just like how batman was made by Warner brothers and directed by Christopher Nolan it's still a dc film because it's BATMAN. It's still one of the best films of all time. Christopher Nolan chose to make a batman film because he could make a good film out of the characters (made by dc) he didn't think of the characters or the personalities thats still dc. more movies doesn't equal better movies (as shown by friday the 13th JasonX). I do respect you as a fellow comic book reader

  • @InsaneNightmarePanda And I you. Yet you are wrong. Movies like Captain America, Iron Man, (unfortunately Thor and Hulk), are made by MARVEL studios, however yes, the Spider Man franchise is at SONY and the X-Men Franchise is at FOX (Unfortunately).

But still. While DC has the one great Batman movie, it doesn't make up for the fact they have made more than their fair share of shit movies. To name a few: Superman Returns, Batman and Robin, Batman forever, Jonah Hex, The Losers, Green Lantern ect

  • @MrMICHAELCABOOSE yeah but there has been some good dc movies. The original superman ones were good for their time. But the problem i find with marvel movies is that as i read batman comics and graphic novel there's a lot more psychology behind the villains as well as the heroes which i love but in the movies they never really bring in that element which the batnolan movies did. But movies still differ with their director despite their studios but i don't think i mad that clear.

  • @MrMICHAELCABOOSE Just to say this has been one of my favourite internet debates ever.. of all time. Seriously it's good to have a discussion with a fellow fan (even though our opinions differ) rather than just watching mindless drones make useless points on IGN.

  • @InsaneNightmarePanda But the ting about MARVEL movies is that the Directors of the movies try to focus to much on what the characters do (like in Iron Man 2) and not so much as who these characters really are (Like in Iron Man 1). The reason why the Dark Knight franchise was so successful was because it had Chris Nolan as a screen writer. But no one else that writes a DC comic movie gets that.

And MARVEL characters can be as intricate and layered like for example Killer Crock in DC...

  • DANM IT DC LEAVE THE COMIC BOOK MOVIES TO MARVEL

  • green latern rocks no wonder the guys were being so nice the critics have gone stupid........again...

  • the movie was okay

  • Wolverine: Go f*** yourself.

    GL: Thank you!

    ROFL Best part.

  • Green Latren was a good movie!!!

  • good movie

  • Only good thing about the Green Lantern movie was Blake Lively in those short skirts.

  • I can't see where critics are coming from with the poor scores on the Green Lantern movie. I rather liked it. It could have been better, yeah, but it was far from a bad film, in my opinion.

  • @johnnywhoastudios You have to remember the critics aren't just for the target demographic. Green lantern was a detective comics super hero movie. Except for batman that's a limited audience. It's a critique based on majority of populous. Would you take a girl to see it on a first date, not even if she was a geek. Would you say it's even in the top of it's genre? No. Would you say it's one of the best movies of the year? Probably not. And you're the target audience. Imagine you weren't.

  • I just enjoyed the film i love the comics since i was a kid

  • If they fuck up Justice League, it'll be the end of comic book movies.

  • @etiscool1 Eh, they said similar things after Batman & Robin, but look how he turned out.

  • @etiscool1 We'll make sure of it.

  • @BetaJackMaxis We DON'T want comic book movies to end. We want them to keep going, but Hollywood shouldn't abuse them in their own ways. Comic book movies/hollywood movies should be more democratic with the fans. This would result in 90% less shit being crapped out of strict executive's asses. Christopher Nolan knows what fans want and he makes good movies out of it, but studio executives should let experienced people take full control of movies, not themselves.

  • @etiscool1 Thats what they say every time dc fucks up all there movies except batman

  • @etiscool1 If The Dark Knight Rises get it will be the end.

  • @etiscool1 What about the new Avengers film that'll come out this summer?

  • @etiscool1 dont say that i might be for the dc universe but never marvel they have never fucked up a movie also i enjoyed green lantern a lot but the start was not too good but the rest was brill.

  • Green lantern was so terrible I wanted to cry at the awful destruction of a beautiful franchise and the demise of comic movies in general.

  • so im not the only one that noticed "hawkeye" in the thor movie, my buddy saw it twice but is still oblivious.

  • I liked the movie. I do think it was a little rushed though. If it was longer then it would have been better :P

  • Green Lantern: What is this? Why is everyone being so nice to me?

    Wolverine: Go f***k yourself.

    Green Lantern: THANK YOU!

  • i liked the movie. haters gon' hate.

  • I can't wait for the reboot either! New Heroclix Minis! XD

  • The critics are fucking stupid

  • Next year The Avengers vs. Justice League, Spider-Man vs. Batman, and Ghost Rider vs... eeeerr.... forget about the last one

  • @ADour1996 Avengers wins, cause Justice League is gonna be rushed, Batman, cause he is DC's one trick pony, and Ghost rider, cause... we forget who the last one is...

  • @Keiji555 you're missing the amazing spiderman

  • @SmashLiXs True enough.

  • @TheAshenian I know Batman and Batman Returns were terrible and that Superman Returns was good. Two were far fetched and defied logic and the other was filled with symbolism, and had a plot that made sense and characters that acted accordingly to their situation.

  • no green lantern sequel... sorry, Warner Bros just cancelled the plan for a sequel... and I was so hoping for a Justice League. Oh well, just reboot it in the next 5 - 8 years with a different director and he'll be fine...

  • @funnguns

Actually I heard they changed their mind and are doing it.

  • I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE REBOOT!

  • Yeeeaaaaah, the movie was lame. (I actually just got done watching it)

  • I loved green lantern

  • i think the movie was ok

the most thing that was really not good

    was is f**** mask

  • @HeroOrGod

and i hate the girl in this movie all my life

    hate her

  • @HeroOrGod I hear ya. They shoulda stuck to one shade of green throughout the entire movie, instead of different shades. (Yes. I am serious. One seen the mask was emerald green, and even in similar lighting, it was sometimes a dark green.)

  • @Keiji555

    omg so FAIL

the mask was a really not good

    and most of the movie

he actually was without her so its really fucktup

  • @HeroOrGod The end fight scene was just dissapointing... I thought he was gonna do something epic like get swallowed up by the entity, then overcome it from within... Not just logically blast it into the sun... That just didn't give the entire "You have the power to overcome fear" feel. Left me hungry. Speaking of which... *goes to eat a sandwhich*

  • @Keiji555

that was what i was thinking

    and

yaaa the movieee asss a lot offf lamee things in it

  • @HeroOrGod The movie was... good... but had a lot of holes in it. Some of us want things OTHER than Batman all the time....

  • @Keiji555

i love batman but ya you are so right .

They should do trilogy films already in place all the time to renew all the movies again and again and again

  • @HeroOrGod yeah... *Pouts cause he wanted to see the Shazam movie*

  • LOL "Go f*** yourself."

  • Nice! (opinionaid)

  • ehh reaction what the oh and 100% green lantern on rotten tomatoes

  • GL- I can`t believe this is happening!!

DP- I can`t wait for the reboot!!

Me- I can`t wait for Deadpool movie no longer...bring it out already...

  • Mark made sinestro at least a little worth while and Ryan at least tried but unfortunately 2 actors trying is so not enough....

  • Berlanti, a man who had never written a comic in his life (I don't know if he's even read any of the comics) and who directed Life As We Know It, which was horrible even the standards of romantic comedies. WTF, DC!!! If you want the movie to be successful, have somebody who knows the character and who has had at least some experience writing comics to write the script. Why didn't Geoff johns write the script? He's only the guy who's been writing the GL comics for the last 6 years.

  • Ok, the major reason why I see DC movies underperforming compared to Marvel movies (with the exception of Batman) is that while Marvel has an entirely separate organ writing and producing their movies for them, Marvel Entertainment, which is staffed with people who have intimate knowledge of these characters, DC does not. Take Thor as an example. Thor was written by J. Micheal Straczynski, who wrote one of the best runs in the Thor comics. Green Lantern, on the other hand, was written by Greg...

  • OK, I'm gonna be honest. While Green Lantern was an OK movie, it was definitely not what I wanted out of it. I'd give the movie maybe a 3 out of 5 stars, but what I wanted was 5 out of 5. Hal Jordan is like my favorite comic book character ever and I think that the Green Lantern are the best out there, so as you could imagine I was really disappointed that it was translated into a so-so movie. I think it can still be saved, but WB and DC have to fix some mistakes first...

  • ZitsydpxuditzoydkydtodtospyqyduvroiftisylKfstpstkajspyyfjrwlgyuiftiqiyexnhn'z

  • Look guys, Green Lantern was not a horrible failure. It made $219 million and that's a respectable haul for a character that non-comics fans know nothing about. And the film itself was pretty good. It stayed true to the spirit of the comics and Ryan Reanolds was a likeable and believable hero. Where WB fails is always abandoning franchises after one film. Daredevil got a follow up and so did Fantastic Four, despite not being the biggest hits. WB needs to learn from that if they want to compete.

  • @bartsimpson83 I was about to respond with "Wait, Daredevil never got a follow up." then I was forced to remember that the Elektra movie still exists.

  • Wolverine: "Go f*** yourself"

That's the best cameo in a movie I've ever seen

  • If Green Lantern had been released five years ago we would have raved, unfortunately it was released in a year competeing with two of Marvel's greats. Lets hope the sequel has more Sinestro!

  • @mattwho81 Yeah, they won't make a sequel.

  • oops, was it wrong of me to forget Jonah Hex or is that just something no one wants to remember.

  • I think overall Marvel makes better movies than DC just like MAC makes better computers than PC. Granted DC did have the batman movies but thats about all they really had. 2 movies. All the way in 2008. In about a 1 and a half year period marvel had Ironman 2, Thor, X Men, and Captain America, which all were strong titles. The only movie that DC had was that pathetic Green Lantern Movie and Watchmen before that.

  • @genemc777 yeah but watchmen was better, truer to the source material, and had a more cohesive storyline than all of the marvel movies, and released a four hour long extended edition which blew us nerds out of the water with excitement, so that's still major points in my book.

  • @ItsJustSomeRandomGuy

Ya know, ta tell ye the truth, I never really saw "Green Lantern" in the first place, just clips, promos, and trailers, and I'm waiting for it to come out on DVD so I can see what's really like.

  • Green lantern = questenable CGI

  • "Why is everyone being so nice to me?"

    "Go Fuck Yourself"

    "Thank You!"

    XD

  • green lantern was good

  • faaaaaaaaaaaailllllllllllllll

  • Well guys, i don't know about you, but i believe it was a pretty enjoyable movie. My expectations were satisfied. It's not The Dark Knight obviously, but as a Super Hero movie i think it's good. It's not perfect, and i noticed like little 2 plot holes, but i think it's better than The Green Hornet. I still have my hopes on the second one. Only seeing Sinestro in the movie made me very Happy, i NEED to see him as the villian in the next one... If there is a next one.

  • To me, it was good but the story was kinda weak...

  • They spent WAY too much time establishing Hal Jordan as a colossal screw-up in need of some adulthood. We had that established when they cast Van Wilder. And really? The most evil thing Mr. Giant-Mutant-Head could do was get back at his daddy issues with a little patricide? How uninventive. It wasn't the WORST movie I ever paid 15 bucks to see but it definitely wasn't worth what I did pay.

  • it was a OK 2.5 out of 4

but not as bad as the critics said

hopefully DC can redeem themselves next year

  • I'm sorry, but of all the superhero movies that came out this summer, Green Lantern was last on my list. Not that it wasnt somewhat enjoyable, it's just not as good as the Marvel movies. I liked X-men best, followed by Thor and Captain America which I thought were kind of equal. and then there's GL, which was good, just not up to standard.

  • I thought it was a great movie. I hope there's a sequel

  • @m1grandboy theres gonna be one. warner bros is already making it (at least, thats what they said) and they say its gonna be "edgier"

  • i cant wait for dvd of green lantern :)

  • it was two hours of my life i will never get back, i fell asleep in the theater, so did my friend who was the green lantern fan.

  • it was pretty good but it definitely needs a sequel

  • it wasn't THAT bad. (Not that good either though) I do hope they get a sequel. Sinestro Corps War would be epic.

  • Well... it was not as good as Captain America

But is not a shit like the critics said neither

  • dude those critics r so stupid the green lantern was incredible

  • I hate the ride from six flags magic mountain bit love the movie:)

  • Green Lantern Was Awesome

  • I thought it was good...nothing like the dark knight or xmen first class but it didnt deserve all those rotten tomatoes nor did it deserve to lose warner bros 23 million dollars

  • @CoolCartoonsGuy i totaly agree

  • i had to see it with my MOTHER because she thought ryan renolds was "hot" ugh

  • @RedDragonAutobot97 at least your mom has good taste XD

  • i FUCKING loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I saw the Green Lantern movie two months ago it was pretty good.

  • i like the movie despite what everyone says

  • @SmashLiXs mee too

  • All of the acting was solid (extra points go to Mark Strong), but the writing, directing, and facial CGI were really, really lame. Sorry, GL. Maybe they'll improve for the sequel?

  • I rather watch 2003 Hulk

  • @xMetalHead0110x I actually preferred 2003 Hulk to the Ed Norton one, to be honest.

  • I liked it.. More than superman returns

  • thanks a lot warner bros. i love green lantern and the flash. but the green lantern movie sucked. lets hope the flash movie doesnt suck!

  • Meh. The plot was trite, the character was blander than gerber's, and it was generally squicky. The special effects kicked ass, yes, but were greatly outweighed by a frightening amount of melodramatically predictable dialogue. There was no dimension in the characters, either. So goddamn banal and cliche!

Also: the guy in the neon tights always gets the girl. Once, just once, could the guy in the tacky-as-all-hell neon tights get the guy?

Oh, and the 3D sucked ass.

  • Is that the Marvel Select Thor figure? I've got all of the Marvel Selects, and that Thor looks pretty familiar. I've got a question: How come the base for the Deadpool figure has only one peg for his feet. I don't usually use the bases, but I can't get him to stand up otherwise. This is just a general question seeing as how the Deadpool figure you use isn't the Marvel Select line? Which line is it?

  • Yeah I think ryan will do better in deadpool...he better tho cus deadpool sucked in x-men origins

  • it was good... but maybe he'll do better in deadpool :)

  • Yeah...Marvel...decimated DC this year..

    THOR....77% on Rotten Tomatoes

X-Men First Class.....87% on Rotten Tomatoes

Captain America: The First Avenger.....78% on Rotten Tomatoes

Green Lantern has.......25% on Rotten Tomatoes and flopped.

  • @TheWarlord900

Thing is, Marvel is pumping out the movies one after the other, while DC is taking its time. And i actually liked Green Lantern. Not as good as Batman, Thor or Captain America. But i found it more enjoyable then XMen First Class and superman returns

  • @cbrown8862 lol superman returns.....the best thing abouot that movie was the trailer......in fact the trailer is better then the movie. the trailer is epic...the movie is a failure, and lets not forget they tryed to seed superboy into the mix.

  • @TheWarlord900 I'm guessing rotten tomatoes is a movie rateing website.

  • He's still deadpool ppl
