And it's a multi-faceted protest the nudity aspect is protesting body shame and anti-nudity laws it also symbolizes the inherent dangers of being a bicyclist: we are naked on the road, we don't have the shell of a car to protect us; it also is supposed to draw attention to another inherent bike danger- we are often invisible to cars and easily ignored which creates very dangerous situations.
@okcallmegoddess This "protest" only get played in places like Madison, maybe Berkley, or Yellow Springs, etc. (oh, wait a minute, nude people have been appearing in Yellow Springs since the 1960's; the only message they have sent to anyone is: TA DA!... "We think we are neat because we are nude, look at us!" The message the target audience sees is "Here are some self-deluded narcissists." I think there is a children's story book about this phenomenon, It's called "The Emperor's New Clothes."

And I'm sorry you think nudism is narcissism, if you tried thinking outside societal constructs for a second you might see that we teach our children to be ashamed of their own bodies.

Hey Katrina - I really like hearing you talk about your experience on the ride in this video, nice work. I was there too and we met briefly (I tied your tie). I had a great experience as well, it felt so free and exciting. I have viewed a few of your other videos as well, fun stuff. Hopefully next year will be bigger and all natural the whole way. Serious bummer about the tickets some of us got (not me thank god).

I have been having dreams about it... next year's ride can't come fast enough. I am hoping to be more involved with the planning stages next time as well. :] Have a nice summer.
I was also at the bike ride! My friend and I were more in the middle of the group, wondering why later in the ride, it seemed as though we lost direction or slowed down a ton. The leader was taken into custody? He re-joined the group much later in the ride too though, right?
@lostb4dawn Yeah he was taken by the police and questioned or something and was gone for... what could have been 20-30 minutes and then caught back up with us.
