  • Great help thank you:)

  • nice mouse dude

  • "system"

  • He schuld have showed us the temp

  • @KaoticRS

Sir, then you have not seen mine yesterday xD

  • can i use this to cool down a ps3 slim????

  • the plate doesn't even toutch the laptop because of the rubber pads .so their you go , your therory is nullefied.

  • @9kuuby9 It still applies as heat is still transfered through the pads either way.

  • @DefconComputers Pads transfer heat?

Even if they do they surface area is way too small, to keep the laptop cool.

  • some blow into laptop and some suck out of laptop. there are different types.

  • ok ,you youtube "genius",the point of a pad is to blow cool air from below to the laptop, not to "absorbe" the heat from the laptop....and blow it away below.

IT gives more clearence for air to be absorbed by the laptop and the flow is helped by the fans.I hope this opens your eyes.BTW,check the air flow direction of your fans;)

  • @maddfix I can't tell if you are agreeing or disagreeing, because you are making the same argument, and then going against it. The pad can act as a heat sink to pull in the heat and with it's fans pull that heat away from the laptop, letting it work in two functions at once. The fans are the primary means of cooling, but thermal transfer with the material itself is a secondary means.

  • @DefconComputers ok,let me say it again. The fans absorbe cold air from below and they blow it on the back of your laptop.Usually ,laptops have air intakes on the bottom.

From what you explained in your video, you say that a cooling pad sucks air from around the laptop(top of the pad) and blows it out trough the bottom(of the pad)?As far as I know, that's wrong. It's the other way around.

  • @DefconComputers Hey, I have some issues. My laptop overheats all the time. It's terrible, and I was thinking about buying one, but before I do that, I have some questions I wish you or somebody else can answer. Is a cooling pad really worth it? Does it works with every kind of laptop, or is a especific one needed? Can you name one nice and cheap? Is it easy to find? After I buy one, it works just by placing my pc on top of it, and that's it? I know I'm an annoying SOB, but I apreciate answers.

  • @fabiopereirascp01 Clean. Your. Computer.

Dust build up on heatsinks and fans is the most common source of "omg overheating". well that and using your laptop on a soft surface.

If you don't know how to clean it take it to someone who does.

  • @onlyashadow1121 That's great, but my godfather already cleaned my laptop, and it stills overheats, so I guess the only solution now is a cooling pad.

  • @DefconComputers u got it all wrong.. the flow of air in cooling pads is upwards, with the intake coming from below the fan, then blowing the air to the bottom of the laptop, which in turn is sucked by the built-in fans inside the laptop, then blows it away from the unit using the vents on the side.. so simply put, cooling pads work as a booster for air intake below a laptop. there is no way a cooling pad can absorb heat, it ONLY HELPS WITH COOL AIR INTAKE FROM BELOW.

did you ever go to school?

  • Respond to this video... do you even know how a fan works? jeez

  • @sicnarf619 Yeah I do, and the fans are pulling heat away from the system. But I guess you missed that part of the video.

  • @maddfix I think we are both saying the same thing. The fans in the system do pull the air out of the case. The pad itself transfers any heat that is in the casing or fails to transfer with the fans in the case. Further the fans in the cooler pull the air away from the laptop, and the cooling pad in two ways: pulling the already hot air further from the system fans, and keeping airflow around the cooling pad itself.

We are saying the same thing, just differently. I'll make diagrams 4 next vid

  • @DefconComputers Actually they blow IN to the laptop, not pull, as 95%+ of laptop designs have the fan on the bottom suck IN, so if the pad pulls then it's starving the laptop of air.

  • @DefconComputers Wait, does your fans pull air AWAY? My crappy one pushes air through...

  • ive got that mouse

  • @mattpryor94 Glossy coated systems are the worse for fingerprints. The only way to avoid them is to have a system with a textured surface. They will still be there, just harder to see.

  • How well do the coolers work?

  • I'm looking for a good way to go through and record something on that. It depends on each cooler, but based on drive temps (The most common thing I can check without special software), it can be 10 degrees or more difference easy depending on the laptop model as well.

  • Good stuff.

  • Thanks, glad it's useful.

  • hey i thinking of getting one of this laptop coolers and my computer runs a bout 80 to 90c and we both now thats hot will this laptop coolers help me out a lot

  • 80c is EXTREMELY hot... The laptop cooler will help some, but no way is it going to get that to a reasonable temp. Check that your fans are running properly, and the vents are free of dust, dirt, and hair.

  • thanks man really helped me :)

  • Glad it could be of use.
