  • You totally bruised and crushed the fruit due to your lackluster knife etiquette.

  • this lady seriously doesnt know how to use a knife correctly..

  • I don't understand how people can be this confused. Granadilla (Passiflora ligularis) is a fruit in the passionfruit family. The other passion fruit that people are referring to as being "a different fruit" is simply another fruit in the passionfruit family (passiflora edulis). They are both passiflora (passion) fruits, much like honeydew and cantaloupe are both melons in the same family. You can accurately call granadilla passionfruit, even though it is not the same as the other type.

  • easier way: press skin and peel off, the suck seeds

  • I can see you eat that fruit with a passion

  • its granadila not passion fruit!!!

  • @Avatar2kelty Granadilla is just another name for a Passion Fruit.

  • ahaha! that was so cute!

  • That is not Passion Fruit, it is called Granadilla though I can understand why you got it mixed up. I ate this all the time in Costa Rica.

  • @5Language @KairiMelodya *They are synonymous. It is just the name that differs.

  • @Nukefuzion I agree that the fruit is basically the same but they are quite different and should not be confused with one another.

  • lolz

  • wtf ..what a waste of time im spending more than a min seeing you test different knives cutting that passion fruit it ain't hard at all its a soft shell. Why not use a butcher knife instead if ur having so much trouble

  • i pretty sure that is not a passion fruit. I eat passion fruit alot and i have also tried this fruit in the video. Passion fruit usually have a purple outter "shell" and when ripe have a orange-y colouring around the seeds inside. When i bought the fruit that you are showing it wasnt listed as passion...please reply if you know that what I'm saying is false. Thanks

(also i am currently a canadain resident...some people commented that the name may be different? if that helps)

  • @the1anonlyJSIZ It is called a Golden Passion Fruit, from my understanding. There are many different types of passion fruit :). A quick google answers all.

  • In the Caribbean they call is Chinola, and the inside is either orange or green when it's just grown.

  • it looks better on the outside

  • In Central America they are called "granadilla" didn't know they where called passionfruit in other places XD

  • Oh, but to add to my previous post, you can't get ripe, good passion fruit in USA or Europe. Only in South America/Central America.

  • This passionfruit was unripe, hence why it was hard to cut. If it was ripe, it'd have been easy to cut, or even open with your bare hands.

  • In Puerto Rico they grow twice as big. BTW the skin will not poison you. I usually open them with my teeth all the time.

If you think the "goo" will feel gross, add about a cup of water and a bit of black sugar and you will have some tasty passion fruit juice.

  • eeeeeeeeewwwwwww

  • The best way is to make juice. In Brazil we do a lot. It is delicious!

  • how dare you sully the good name of the passion fruit with this tediously unattractive specimen !

  • next time, use a chain saw... and play some heavy meddle music, that ought to help. :)

  • I love passion fruit but that one looks like crap. The outside should be wrinkly! (Its sweeter that way)

  • passion fruit is kind of too sour to be eaten... I like it best as a refreshment... thats why there is GRANADILLA nice and sweet to eat

  • its not ripe. i like the purple ones.

  • stupid girl cutting open a passion fruit!

  • It taste like lemon and orange but sour it is so hard to get in store I found one of them there 3 to 4 dollar a piece

  • Thank you

For putting the beautiful thought that i will be eating snot with sunflower seeds in it

  • i much rather eat bacon

  • Don't eat the skin!

  • WHAT KIND OF PASSION FRUIT IS THAT?! IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE PURPLE!

  • pommegrenate style... mioumm :D

  • You had me at Dancing Queen. Passion fruit is SO luscious.

  • well doesn`t that look good

  • i thought passion fruit was purple and soft.

  • @alohachica12 No, when ripe they are hard like an egg. You have to crack them open to reveal what looks like yellow amphibian eggs.

  • its lemon vine...

  • R.I.P Justine.....D':

  • looking at the inside made he blow chunks all over the table SHIT

  • haha... I just press it with my fingers and eat it with my hands.

  • Looks like frogs born :p

  • 1st of all why r u teachin us this you can eat it anyway 2nd of all is that roll over beetoven i hear at the ebggining and 3rd of all thats not a passion fruit

  • thats looks like shit

  • It may look disgusting, but sprinkle some sugar in it

and you will go to heaven, hence the Passion Fruit name, lol

you dont even feel the seeds :)

  • the purple ones are easier to cut, and I use to have those same plates, ever since I was a little kid

  • man it looks like organ of a fish cut open

  • I had it once and when I ate it I kinda chewed too much so in the end I the "goo" was gone and all I had left were those crunchy, fibry seeds.. it's like chewing wood :-P wasn't the best experience I had with fruit.

  • i like grapefruit

  • that goop looks like fish eyes

  • why, and who named this monstrosity as a passion fruit

  • on youtube, I once watched some clueless ofice workers open a bottle of wine without a corkscrew. this was almost as good....

  • do you have a vine at home where did you get it and where are u from next time opened by hand.

  • the music around 1:12, what is it? i've heard it before and its killing me xD

  • @xoCherryPink That would be Daite Senorita by Yamashita Tomohisa from the drama Kurosagi. n.n hope that helps (it's a good drama)....

  • @Cartoonist62 OMG thank you xDD so thats what it was, i remember viewing a video of yamapi live singing that song and he lipsynced at that part. anyway thanks xD

  • A sharp paring knife, cut the top off and spoon the fruit. Try it on vanilla ice cream.

  • it..looks..kinda...good?

  • daite senyorita by yamapiLOL

  • that is possibly the grossest looking fruit i have ever seen(on the inside at least).

  • @AblueSHADEofMETAL That's because it was grown in the USA. Here in Brazil it looks and tastes delicious.

  • boring

  • 1 take a dep breath

2 think of somebody you like

    3 press f10 five times

4 send this to 5 yioutube videos

    5 look at your backround

  • your mom doesnt seem annoyed LOL!

  • What songs did you use for this video? Also, that fruit does not look ripe enough yet. Isn't that more like a maracuja than a passionfruit anyway?

In any case, the video was entartaining and the annotations were cute, keep up the good work (just add the songs to the dooblydoo).

  • @NWRequiem someones a vlogbrother's subscriber aren't they ;)....Looking it up it appears that a maracuja and passionfruit are just different names for the fruits (or at least what I read). For the songs, I'll have to go a searching through my music files for the names T_T........... Thanks for the comment :D

  • @Cartoonist62 I sure am :). Thanks for the info on maracuja-passionfruit. It's a bit strange because in my store they sell these fruit under both names, the passionfruit looks dark brown, almost black, small and wrinkly where the maracujas look more like the one in your video. Anyway it's a great fruit :)

  • This is granadilla not a passion fruit, you just break the top (where the stem is) with your hands (don't even need a knife) you take a spoon and eat the pulp using the peel as a cup. Easy.

  • passion fruit smells like shit xD

  • KNIFE!

  • I like the expressions you made on the fruit maybe you should do /o.o\ for the waiting part

  • where can i buy passion fruits and dragon fruits plz rply

  • It was fluke for me as a local grocery store had tropical fruit one day. Try any major supermarket :)

  • @Cartoonist62 i bought like a dozen for $300(ja) (im in jamaica)

MMMMMMMM PASSIAN FRUIT JUICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(I ADDED GINGER FOR TAIST)...MMMMMMMMM

    :D

  • @n0ske1 Sobeys has alot of exotic fruits.

  • @n0ske1 I dont know, the only place I have seen them are at Central Market in Austin, they have them in a few other Texas cities

  • @n0ske1 Go to a nursery or a plantation and pick the fruit or grow it yourself. Also, try getting it at the supermarket. ;)

  • Hey, is there anyway you could send me some seeds? I would like to grow passion flowers.

  • hey you should empty the insides of passion fruit in some kinda a stainer or a cloth and then kinda put in in some water and massage out to extracts add some sugar to water and drink passion fruit juice

  • that looks like a big shit of a fruit. i f you force me eat that, i' ll start WWIII on ya...

  • this is a nice tutorial vid ^^

    and you have pretty eyes!!

  • that was pretty sweet :)

  • Lmfao this video is brilliant and i love the annotations it! Great job 5/5 :D

  • this is how you cut your self with a knife follow this example at your own risk... forcing a knife down with 2 hands will result in a cut or worse a few missing fingers or something else

  • those things are damn expensive

  • uhm, actually you just need to take it into your hand and press a bit, it pops open and you can get the seeds out :) no knife needed at all

  • I love granadilla please contact me I am trying to grow them from seed

  • eew i just threw away a passion fruit after i peeled open them when i saw those seeds. i thought it turned spoilt. looks disgusting.

  • Really cute video!!

  • hhaa

you will need: A PASSION FRUIT

its sound so silly to me!!

    ofcoursee

  • You are so smart, it took you three different knives to cut open a passion fruit. Pierce the passion fruit with your first knife with the sharp point and slice horizontally to a half circle, then split open with your hands. That's it. If you killed a cow, you would have needed those three knives.

  • Ahaha, I loved how you put little annotations for the passion fruit. The insides DO look like snot with sunflower seeds... EW~ It looks extremely hard to cut. I was scared you might cut your thumb off in the beginning. Haha. Do you know where you can purchase passion fruits?

  • Aww thanks <3 . Yeah it was pretty tough, I had to use some crazy strenth xD. As for buying them I think any large super market would probably carry them. For me it was just a fluke "exotic fruit" sale. We didn't normally carry them...
