Thank God there are still some of us who dare to ask those difficult questions .... it can't all be about dancing to Kylie ! Keep up the good work (and its disgusting that there was a desire to censor your banners)
Was annoyed this year to find that Womens Space took Sackville Gardens from us on the Sunday a place where there is an AIDS memorial where men could not access to pay their respects.Disgusting!
As a 38 years old Irish gay male (from Dublin) living in Manchester since 2002, this is the very reason why Dublin Pride and other Irish gay pride events will never allow any commercial involvement - the heavy-handed, arrogant, bully-boy tactics of Manchester Pride festival organisers are nothing short of disgraceful and disgusting - this group gets no funding whatsoever from Manchester Pride yet has to pay for a float and for wristbands
what's your point? many of us had pride wristbands that doesn't mean they can't campaign against exploitative profiteering of others at pride. actually i think it makes people's arguments more credible, people usually complain about things they have actually bought and care about being right.
perceptiveenergy was having a dig at the person who Manchester Pride's festival manager tried to remove a "Pride Not Profit" t-shirt from because she had a pint with this individual in the gay village a few days later... its not a crime to buy a wristband nor should anyone who does that also disagrees with over-commercialism be branded a hypocrite - especially because she actually got her wristband as a performer.
i have nothing against gays but do you have to go through the city centre in speedos where kids are about

Now they're censoring themselves! Ironic.
