not only a rock band that rocks..it rocks our hearts too, U2 specially Bono had been a philanthropist in promoting and making our world an equal to all human race and safe...Thanks Bono
sounds like 30 old u2 songs, good song but nothing new or mind blowing, i guess the formula still works to sell millions, good for them, but nothing new at all
wow great guitar work, they're so tight, everyone knows their job on stage, great performance bono! Your new album rocks! this will make it 23 grammy awards. More than 145 million albums sold!
I have listened to "Moments of surrender" atleast 40 times and it keeps getting better and better. No other U2 song in the last 7-8 years has made me want to listen to it over and over again like songs in this album.
Magnificent!!!!!!!!! U2 will rock stadiums with this one. Kick ass. Get em boys. Many Years gone by and you still climb, Damn right there is no line in your horizon. You have passed it. Magnify forever
U2 has set the bar so high. The expectations are threw the roof. Everybody has a opinion and a strong one. So much pressure on their shoulders, knowing everybody in the world expects so much. I love all their albums. And this one will be considered one of their best. I particularly like Moment of Surrender. Peace
What a majestic anthem! Bono is very steathy. No one else in rock music would be bold enough to write a straight-ahead worship song, a Gospel-rock confection that actually appeals to the mainstream masses. Congrats to U2 for coming up with this gem!
It was amazing for the first few listens when the HTDAAB came out. After listening to it about 10 times, it fell flat and started sounding monotonous.
Miracle drug one of the best they've ever recorded??... wow.. you're most certainly alone on that one. It's a good song don't get me wrong, but hardly their best in mine and the opinions of many.
listen i've been a U2 fan since i was 13, i bought 'war' in 7th grade. i love many of their songs. i just find that song to be very moving. if you watch the live clip of the song from the 'cd uk' show, and hear the whole story about what the song is about, that is part of the reason why...and i love the chiming guitars on it. but i love many U2 songs lol
Miracle Drug is a moving song, I do agree with that. I did hear the '"CD UK" performance so I do know the story behind the song. I guess I just feel that sonically they could have done so much more with that song considering the story behind it. I do like that CDUK version a lot.
Crap albums? What are you saying SpeedKlz? ATYCLB was a showcase of excellent songwriting, powerful vocals and uplifting instrumentation! Rootsy rock& roll beautiuflly blended with pop sensibilities. The follow-up, HTDAAB was almost as good, and it featured an assortment of power-drived songs like "All Because of You," "Miracle Drug" and "A Man and a Woman" (amazing bassline on the latter). How di you miss that?
LOL.. you call "stuck in a moment" excellent song writing? That is just one example.
Both "All that you can't" and "How to dismantle" were cr*p FM pop albums which is why they did not sell that well (only 9 million for How to dismantle and 7 million for All that you can't)
I happen to devote plenty of time to detailed, carefully crafted songwriting and poetry, and, as far as I'm concerned, "Stuck in a Moment" offers the sort of imagery and melodic nuance one hardly ever encounters anymore.
In any case, I don't think you have to be a lyricist or musician to see that anyone who claims to be a U2 fan who can not acknowledge and bask in the delicate beauty of songs like "Stuck in a Moment," "Kite," "Walk On," When I Look at the World," and "Grace"--to name a few--are obvsiously insensitive to the basic elements which are often incorporated into well-structured, uplifting, ethereal music--and very few albums feature those elements as brilliantly as U2's ATYCLB.
The only song I agree with is "When I look at the world" and that is about it. This song had the lyrical depth and intensity
If you know anything about poetry (I read poetry a lot). All of "All that you can't" was a joke with no depth whatsoever meant only to please the listeners who don't want to think.
When you think U2 poetry, you think "Achtung Baby". That is what is called Poetry in motion.
I don't think I have to defend the idea that both "all that you can't" and "How to dismantle" were the most "forgettable" albums U2 ever had done. No one even remembers those albums and they came out just a few years ago.
All critics, fans and Bono himself included said in a recent interview that he was frustrated about the last two albums that the "sums were not greater than their parts" and that there are no memorable hits.
I personally though HTDAAB was great, Vertigo, All Because of You, Miracle Drug, City of Blinding Lights, and Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own are awesome songs.
No Line on the Horizon is def not better than HTDAAB, and a lot of people remember that album. Zooropa and Pop are the most forgettable U2 albums.
Wow!!!! Thanks so much for posting this I get this quicker on you tube than I do in Australia. I also saw U2 perform this on the BBC tower and this was a much better performance. Its like Bono is much more confident with the song, and the joy and pride in it really come through. Even on youtube from Australia I could feel the electricity. Grateful that you took the time to post this xxx
Thanks for posting this!! I forgot to tape it and was hoping someone did! Gonna catch U2 all week on Dave. I LOVE this song!!!....got goosebumps.........

The chiming and ringing rhythm guitars are back after 15 years of absence (Achtung Baby was the last time The Edge used).
What a comeback after two cr*p albums (All that you can't - yuck!, how to dismantle - pathetic!).

miracle drug is far from a pathetic song, i think that's one of the best they've ever recorded. but hey to each his own.

'I read poetry a lot', gotta say that ranks highly in the list of most pretentious comments i've ever set eyes on.
and i read pretentious youtube comments a lot (sadly).
no defence re. this song / performance- but this album is heading back in the right direction imo.
