#2) I concur, that slogan invokes imagery of a basement or maybe that space under the stairs in high school where outcasts need an imaginary realm for themselves to "rule" since they can't face normal hobbies or human beings.

I got an Innistrad booster pack due to the Werewolf art, and aside from that slogan I think I dig this game. Very dynamic and simple yet engaging in its overall strategy. A helluva lot easier than collecting comics.

heres an idea for a "MTG drinking game"

instead of taking damage for every attack point that got sent your way and dieing when you loose 20HP, just take a shot for every time you get hit, 1st one to pass out or vomit, looses.

I miss MTG. I wish it was 2003 so I could be in high school playing it again. I miss my elf deck that I could use to get over 300 mana in under three turns if I got the right hand, or the 300/300 creatures. Or how I always forgot that deck at home and ended up using a crappy goblin deck that always somehow managed to be in my book bag.

It does make SOME sense, I guess. The player is supposed to be a planeswalker or some crap like that. Your battles w/ other players are territorial, I believe. So-- 'Here I Rule' could mean 'this territory is mine, bitch.'

That, or it's a connection to the books - I haven't read those.

I was speaking in an exaggerated fashion in that first sentence. i love the game, but when i see commercials like that, i die a little inside. they make the game seem so much nerdier than it really is, and watching WoTC struggle to make a "cool" commercial is just pathetic, so just to reiterate, no i'm not quitting the game, but when wizards makes commercials like this, it just reminds me how nerdy other people think i am, because this is how they've been told what magic is.
