ok, but my point was I heard of Shannon before Madonna. It doesn't matter when someone debuted but it did help Madonna that Shannon's record record label Mirage went.

What I think helped Madonna that her 2nd album was titled "Like a Virgin" and America was uptight in the '80s (though we were coming out of the '70s), not just her drive and a record company like Sire/Warner Bros.
