  • In my country we play pogs differently off-course some are the same but five stacks depending how many people playing. Normally its five so each player has to surrender one pog to be used as a main.

  • hahaha i was in 4th grade i think when these were huge. I always wound up losing haha. I remember my favorite was the Bigfoot slammer which was maybe 3/4 of an inch thick, one side was plastic the other was rubber with grippie things, and was blueberry-scented.

I recall this kid on my bus talking me into trading it and a buncha other pogs to him for a Tornado slammer, which was this metal spiral shaped thing like an inch thick. And thinner. Then my mom made me reverse the trade

  • when i was younger my aunt would bring pogs from her work by the boxes...i had literally thousands and thousands of pogs and slammers...good old days

  • i would be all like, "hey man!! don't be makin dents in my pogs!!"...cuz you know there would be those crazy pencil break mofos who took slammin to a whole nother level.

  • We still play and collect milk caps, Pogs are great fun!

  • what a face

  • I remember when I was younger playing with a tube of pogs that had belonged to my older brother. I didn't know what they were lol

  • ahhh my childhood

  • please

  • can i have it all

  • haha ive been wanting to learn how to play this game for a while. i have a cool poison one that my buddie gave me. where did you get your pog maker?

  • my dad has millions of pogs and the little tubes for them as well there actually in my closet hmm maybe i can bring it back hahah

  • I played the hell out of pogs in school. I loved them for a while

  • I had quite a lot,but never played it very often. There was a weird pog-frenzy when I first went to highschool.Walkers potato crisps tried to cash in and supplied discs which had cuts in the plastic that allowed you to build interlinked sculpture or even geometric shapes. They were called TAZOs.There was a number of star wars Tazos,so John you might like to track them down on ebay.

  • The Hawaiian Warrior Helmet Pog was hot back then with the black and gold and other colors man!!

  • Back then I found the secret technique with out corner hitting or any other trickery to challenge this kid that won all the time using a thick ass hitter. I only had two pogs to play with and after playing that kid I got like 40-50 pogs that day and gave back kids that lost their pogs back and that kid was pissed!!!!lol. I might have ruined that kids life, I've never seen a kid so angry in my life lol. He was so mad he used his "Special Edition" pogs but lost those too.lol Fun times.

  • i miss pogs

  • who needs pogs when u have video games?

and all the kids in my middle school would call these gay... most of them anyways

  • @zerranterg hahahahaha, i hope your making fun of middle schoolers these days and not being serious.

  • @Sniz44 there are no point to pogs. they are little fucking discs that have pictures on them of random ass things. they are not entertaining what so ever and i wouldnt waste my time playing with such stupid things

  • Comment removed

  • @Sniz44 says you

  • @zerranterg go back to video gaming...

  • @zerranterg lol your comment shows how fucked up the newer generations are going to be

  • I just pulled out all mine, and I'm taking them to the bar tonight. Who knows, maybe a drunk POG league will come out of it.

  • i just ordered 500 from amazon for a total of $16

  • Show the pog tubes!

  • ahaa cool! I remember the biggest mall in my city in '94 had this pog tournament and anyone 8-17 was allowed to join. My sister made it to the final round, but unfortunately lost :( The prize was these rare pogs and slammers and a 1000$ gift certificate to the mall! ahh those were the days when marbles and pogs were cool. Now all kids do these days is sit on their asses and play xbox and eat twinkies and chips...and sext eachother. POGS!

  • @akasstan video games are better than pogs... unless theres nothing else to do it might be fun

  • @akasstan i still like marbles but no-one else does :(

  • Ok, Im convinced there is nothing u havent thought of. lol on the slammer fail at the end. I used to have hundreds of pog. I had the 7or 8 of the big tube carrying cases full of em them but unfortuanaly dont know what happend to them. I had so many slammers at one point that me and my buddies would actually stack up slammers and play for them. Great vid John!

  • EHHH POGS!!! i loved those back in the day....MAN

  • these were called "tazos" here in Mexico, and they came inside potato chip bags, and they where ALL themed after what cartoons where hot at the moment , like Pokemon xP

  • OOOOOOH NOOOO I hated pogs haha

  • nice do u even have an earthworm jim pog?

  • awsome!

  • man i had this slammer that got banned because it would bend all the pogs lol

  • where did u get the WCW pog???

  • hahaaaa pogs!!! literally had 1 million...... bought them in bags of 1,000 at some card shows. collected enough, but not enough slammers. hah.

i'd say my prized pog was from war of the worlds... never did find it again :(

  • I liked your video

pasate and watch my video of my pogs

  • i went to a private christian school and they let us play with them, i spent way too much on this, i still have hella pogs. i was so into this i bought a pog gaming board

  • I actually had no idea how popular this was on the mainland. At least when I played it in school (kids, not tournaments) in Hawaii, we didn't allow slammers. How nostolgic. Love your videos!

  • I WANT THAT WCW ONE

  • Haha, I had the Simpsons and Power Ranger ones

  • Back in mexico we use to get pogs inside the bags of chips. But they where made out of plastic, they had looney toons characters on them, they where pretty cool to collect.

  • POISON POG! hahahah nice

  • played for keeps lol

  • haha Thanks for this.

  • Hey John, I see that you have a WCW Pog. Are you by chance willing to sell that one? I collect wrestling merchandise and that's something I don't have. Message me back if so'

  • @dreamslayer Dude I want that WCW Pog ill battle you for it lol and your power rangers pogs too

  • LOL I reember playing marbles in the 80s, the "oilies" were the coolest ones

  • This is one of the best pog videos on youtube

  • This was our generations version of playing marbles.

  • lou ferrigno?

  • Pogs were the best!! Who had the O.J. Simpson slammer?? That thing was the best!

  • nice rad shirt...That movie was sick where did you get it?

  • I remember these in the 6-7th grade, when i went to Junoir High, in Mesa, AZ at Carson, everyone would play pogs between class, some kids had huge intricate slammers and the battles would get heated. I remember one kid losing a match and he got stabbed by a 4" blade because the loser was upset.

Campus Police ran in and pepper-sprayed the whole crowd and hit a bunch of innocent girls while one kid was on the ground bleeding out to death over a pile of pogs. Absolute true story.

  • lol i found some at my local 99 cent store.

  • lol i have most of thoughs back in cali

  • ps when we would play and for Official Tournament play you cant use your thumb to throw your slammer!!

  • we got to bring back pogs!! i just bought a ton on e bay!!!!

  • What is the watch your wearing?????

  • Lmao, I remember pog banning at my school. I miss pogs.

  • visitez

    generation-pog.22web.net/

  • that chicago bulls pog is badass!!! im from chicago and woulda used my best slammer to try to win that one back in 93!!!!

  • damm back and the days

  • I tended to find that the staples actually acted like a spring against the cardboard. I tended to serve with my slammer perpendicular to the stack. Large, heavy washers also worked well.

  • I had a few No Fear POGS back in the day. This video really brings back alot of good memories. I never played the actual POG game with them though. Just had them for display purposes.

  • pogs was deff one of the best if not the best 90's game

  • Cool in mexico we have tasos that came in bags of chips they still are!

  • OMG I remember Growing up in Hawaii and I had EVERY pog out possible!!!

  • i have those there cool

  • i have the marvel pog

  • Thumbs up if you think they should bring these back

  • @superlegoman64 they are back you just cant find them i saw millions at a 99 cents only store for 25 cents each!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I used to collect POGS myself when I was in Primary School about eight or nine years ago, maybe even longer. :)

They were great fun to collect. :)

Great video John. Love all your vids!

  • it's still popular in our country but just for children and they usually throw it somewhere.

  • Ah this brings me back to the good old days. I use to have all kinds but sold them. Then after that no one played any more. I guess i got lucky to get rid of them when they where still hot. Man i sure miss the 90's more than anything.

  • I remember hitting a pog claw machine back in the day lol

  • Actually i dont have the poison pog you have but mine has spikes on the side and i think a snake or a skull.

  • As a huge 90's (and early 2000's) wrestling fan I was dying for you to pick the WCW Pog up and give us a closer look. I wasnt lucky enough to be born in the 80s. And i missed most of the cool stuff in 90's being born in 95. I never had pogs. For some reason now i have the Metal poison pog you have though.

  • LOL they banned POG? I don't think they did that at my grade school everyone brought their POG's to play. I never got that into them but I have to admit I had some.

  • The Outtake Was Funny lol

  • Hahaha...I remember my ''No fear'' shirts from back in the day. lol good times.

  • Like I was telling you in one of your streams, I made porno pogs back in middle school. I used the backing of a standard pog, then traced around a pog in a porno mag. After cutting out the porno image I glued it on to the pog and then sprayed the top with some lacker. I never did get in trouble for them cause my middle school banned them before I could lol. Awesome video man.

  • i gotta get me some of those i sold mine in 2002

  • i loved playing pogs when i was a kid 2

  • BTW, in 1994, I won a POG tournament in my local mall. It was actually my first time playing and i won a personal dinghy boat. ahhaha

  • haha dude that is so sweet! i recognized a few that i used to own!

  • I had the POG maker. It was very fun being able to make your own

  • I remember we had this weird rule where you choose who goes first by choosing "rainbow castle", "dark castle", or "white castle". It was definitely a scam as we didn't understand the rules and the older kids always seemed to go first.

Unfortunately, I don't think I have mine anymore.

  • I had pogs but I never played the game that much. I just liked the way they looked. It was banned from my school too.

  • 5:10 FAIL lol

  • I love that shirt! That movie should be on dvd!

  • I have a 24kt gold plated Mortal Kombat slammer but I remember collecting I still have a drawer full about

  • nice outtake shot^^

  • I remember POGs when I was a kid. I remember for my birthday my friend got me a big box of a POGs kit which had about 240 in there and slammers.

  • My favorite were the Blades.

  • Oh man, this takes me back. POGs were huge and then just disappeared, haha. Great video idea, John.

  • Pogs were a hit!! I have a huge collection!! I have a bunch of my friends pogs too. I feel bad that I never returned them :(

  • POGS are the shit, I was born in '91, but when I was a kid PONGS we're still awesome when I was a kid, remember trading those bad boys in grade school.

  • Dude! POGS were kick ass back in the day! POGs were banned from my school too. No one seems to play or even talk about them anymore:-(

Maybe one day POGS will come back into fashion.

  • We never had pogs, We had Flippo's which came in chips bags from lays. First there were only 25 featuring some characters of warner bros. Such as wil e coyote, daffy duck etc. When the hype was at it's highest there were allot of spinoffs such as soccer flippo's etc etc. Young kids were robbing markets to get the bags of chips with the flippo's and like you said most schools banned the flippo's and with that the hype died . I still got all my flippo's aah good memories.

    try google "flippos"

  • i have like 800 pogs and 40 slammers....i love pogs but nowadays nobody plays it so i didnt play it for a long time...it was very popular in slovakia in around 2002-2004

  • we had exactly the same thing in Bulgaria but it was called FOGIS and you could by packages of those like trading cards. The slammer was called "bomb" and it was considered more valuable and we had different colors of slammers and there were more expensive, rare and valuable colors

  • I miss my metal slammer with finger grooves. It's alright though I got a sweet yo-yo to replace it. haha

  • Maybe the ban on pogs from school coulda been what killed the fad!

  • HAHA, I have a pog maker around here somewhere too. Probably in the box with the pen with the motor in the back that made your writing all squiggly. Too bad the fad died soo fast, but it's better than having it kept alive like Pokemon, that now is just...

  • I had a ton of pogs - what a weird fad. It's amazing how quickly it came and went. I like the outtake at the end. haha

  • Schools always ban the fun stuff

  • @n8great321 lol really huh...

  • @n8great321 thats because school is supose to destroy everything fun

  • @n8great321 like weed

  • @n8great321 at my old school they ban it because some kid lost their hitter and was crying which made one of the teachers come over and stop us from playing them.....damn funny and sad but good times :)

  • I've got a few pogs lying around in my garden, they've been there for years.

Did you also have TAZOs as well? the rival to Pogs? Thgey were kind of cool, as they had slots in them so you could build with them.

  • Awesome man! I used to love these. Funny you missing at the end. haha

  • Whoa! I had quite the collection of pogs back in the day. I only bought a few slammers and won a huge collection from playing my friends on the playground.

  • Never a huge fan of Pogs, I remember getting a few really awesome "slammers" towards the end of the fad when the card store was selling them super cheap. I actually show off some of my old 1992 Marvel Masterpiece in one of my videos and stuffed in the very back is some of my old Pogs.

  • some earthbound pogs i think around 5-6 of them sold for around 250$ on ebay

  • So glad my school never banned POG's I used to tear it up. I only played real official POG's though and then moved on to official Slammers. I have Millions in my basement somewhere. Great Memories!

  • Wow talk about memories. I loved collecting the slammers the most. They had some kick ass metal ones shaped after saw blades and the like. Thanks for another awesome video. I hope you never run out of ideas.

  • Fuck yeah POG's were so awesome, I used to play for keeps all the time then like your school mine banned them too. such good times

  • it looks fun. at my school you will get in huge trouble if you bring a pack of cards so I cant imagine what it would be like if we brought these to school, however maby because the popularity has passed they wont know what they are.

  • I remember I use to have quite a few of these in middle school which was about 1994 but I never really played them, just collection em. But they were fun to collect though. Great video man

  • I had a big pile of the simpsons ones ! wish I still had them cool stuff man !

  • Wow....I cant belive people still have those...lol

I got rid of mine a loooooooooong time ago.......I think the last ones I ever got were the Star Wars Tacobell giveaway pogs.

    Very cool vid..LOL@the ending

  • These were called "Flippo's" in Holland. They came with Smith's potato chips back in the 90's and had pictures of Looney Tunes characters on them.

  • POGS!! i might do a vid response. Lol fail at the end.

  • I still have my pogs. I have a ton of the real ones with the staples from Hawaii, I won them from a friend at school.

    ROFL at the end

  • Thank god I was too old for these when they cam out. At this time I was going broke buying Magic cards like crazy.

  • i had the entire "bad boy club" collection and i had a collection with some furry tihings . wth ill just make a vid lol

  • Jesus I remember this! The simpsons one always came in patatoe chip packets. I even recall vaguely having a pog book with some mascot on it. So far away from memory now though...

The glow in the dark ones simply ruled. Ah, "Fashion Victim", I miss you all of a sudden...

  • i still have my pogs and i have been to second hand stores and get some so that was col i love pogs and play that all the time so that was cool and looking at the pictures are very cool and even my best friend even gave me some that she had doubles of

  • I remember these from when I was a teen but i never got into them.

  • I want the WCW one

  • hahaha i used to have a whole bunch when i was younger but I don't know what happened to them haha however, My College roommate from last year, still had a few and we managed to play a lot just to relief stress and of course for fun haha really brought back the old times nice video haha

btw When i last went to Mexico they had Pokemon pogs come in the potato chip bags haha they were really popular and we used to trade them to try to catch all 150 haha i ended up giving them away to my friend

  • You have a shredder!!

  • wait i had that pog with the green guy on it

  • Oh I remember pog but I don't have them anymore

  • i had hella pongs but not anymore .... sadface
