Wondering if u or any1 here would mind analyzing that last move I made. I ended up winning with it, creating a bunch of traps on white, but I wanna know if sum1 here much better than I can say if I might've fell into a trap myself. Btw, he ended up playing 8. Bxg5, cxd4 9. Nxd4, Nxd4 10. cxd4, Rg8 11. Nf3, Ne4** 12. Qa4+ (blundered), Bd7 13.Rxc8, Qxc8 14. Qd1, Nxg5** (he resigned). Thx any1 4 helping me
I'm one of your more recent subscribers to your channel, and would like to thank you for the clarity of your explanations. I'm currently in the process of slowly improving my chess, and I feel that thanks to your channel I can do that quicker. :)
OK Jerry i want to say this...I feel you and KC should play even though I know u both have an agreement not too. My reasoning: If we could see both sides of the game and the analysis of two different great players perspective we can open our own minds to possiblities we might have not seen if it were only just you or KC playing. I feel you should have a friendly match were u both set 5-10min time constraints and just analyze the game and both post the vids so we can see both sides of the match.
I've seen multiple comments on this video that lead me to assume the people who made the comments are amateur as opposed to professionals that understand everything that ever goes on in any chess game forever. You have no idea how well that makes me feel welcome.
8:27 - 1. Re2?? Bxe5! if 2.dxe5?? Rxd1+ - The White king has no flight squares! The knight is covering the f2 square. 3.Re1 - Forced. 3...Rxe1 is mate! Of course, White is still losing after 1...Bxe5!
Just great. The way you explain your plans, the "why" you move the queen rather to that square and not that one, the "why" you don't move that pawn because it would just end up in making a weakness... just great. I have the same feeling when i watch your videos and when i read a book about chess (and understand what i am reading!). You are talented, both in chess and in explaining chess, so keep doing what you are doing, Jerry :)
How about a new fb game? You could choose some brave warriors to play on your side (like me :P). Nowadays it's difficult to play consultation correspondence games alone. I have no idea how that would work..maybe a private page for your team or s/th.
At 8:27 when he went Re2, could you not have simply played Bxe5 and won material? I know you were in a bit of a hurry, and it doesn't even really matter because you won, I'm just wondering if you saw that move.
He gave you his horsey at 8.31, when he moved his rook from e1 to e2. At that point you were free to take his horsey with your bishop, as he couldn't retake with the pawn since his rook on d1 would have been unprotected.
Didn't it waste a bit of time moving the bishop to d6, then to c7, then back to d6, then to e7 and the queen from d8 to b8, then back to d8; all before even being castled! Could someone explain how that's good or is it maybe an inaccuracy on Jerry's part?
I don't know if you realized it but your opponent was playing the Colle-Zuckertort system which I like to play myself. I'm not so sure about Bf5 early on.
Hi Jerry! I'm a Caro-Kann player and I frequently have to decide whether to exchange my light square bishop or to move it on g6 after White plays Bd3. What made you chose for the exchange?
@jkor9 I think just not wasting any time, however I can still see the move being played with the intention of giving up the bishop for the knight. In other words, in the event of Ne5, I'd be allowing NxB and then try to work on maybe putting some pressure on the white position via the h-file. :)
When you had 43 seconds left (not sure which move you were on), you missed just capturing the knight with your bishop. White couldn't recapture because it would drop the rook on d1
@moviecritic6 Well you gotta start somewhere right? :P I'm sure he wouldn't laugh because everyone was a beginner. But you can also analyze it yourself. Note down the ideas behind your moves and then note the reason why it didn't work. Try to find a better move and then use a chess engine to check if you're right :) but don't use it to find the move for you :)
Incredible, I was looking for this all this time. I can't believe I didn't see this channel before.

@UGB6WX If not apparent already, I'm not very high ranked at all. I doubt I'm even 1500s in blitz or any fast game. This was a game that lasted days.
