You must know the word "Nothin's impossible" and it's truth, I know how Kill Mantis using ePSXe 1.7.0 with a joystick.

First, configure in Game Pad before fight Mantis In Port 1- Pad 1 using the joystick buttoms and not from the pc teclado.

And finally, In Port 2 - Pad 1, do the same configuration has before, using the joystick buttoms in that picture of the joystick and put the same configuration.

But this is only works in ePSXe 1.7.0.

hahaha. i've beaten him using the first controller many years ago. Didnt find out about using second controller before i've killed him.

I actually beat this guy without changing the controller. OMG took forever! I had to memorize his movement patterns and then find the one moment when he was actually vulnerable. I think I ended up punching him to death. Took sooo long. It wasn't after that I found out you were suppose to switch the controller socket. Why do I always do things the hard way.........

Well, it depends on the emulator. I had one a long time ago that allowed you to change which controller you were using.

remember psycho mantis doesn't like looking at himself. Those statue he has the mirror. pictures. You can beat it without the 2nd controller port.

just shoot both of the statues. itll basiclly give you the same effect that switching the ports do

But you can't shoot those statues' faces right from the beginning. You have to contact Roy Campbell first and then loose the battle, at least, one time.

anyway, don't switch controller, i enjoy beating this boss with controller in port 1 more than beating him in the cheap way.

you just have to dodge his attacks and fire when he's trying to control meryl again or any other weak spot ( i don't remember if there are any other)

Either Config Controller 2, and Disable Controller 1 if your Emulator will let you do that, Or When your fighting Psycho mantis, Shoot the heads off the Statues in the room.

I never fight Mantis with that controller port 2-thingy. It's much more fun with him reading your mind. It's a long, satisfying an hell of a cool battle. One of the best in the history of videogames.

PS. In Twinsnakes (GC) Mantis can learn to read you even with using the other port. There are four controller ports to choose from though.

All I know is that the only way I'm ever gonna fight him in either the original or the Twin Snakes-version is the way you do every other battle in the game. With your fists.

Because I don't find it fun if there's no challenge.

I recently tried this way! Even if you don't have a second controller port, you can still smash those statues to pieces. That'll make Psycho Mantis feel disturbed while "reading your mind".
