How to determine how much hay and grain to feed your horse

my horses weigh Around 1500 and 1000 i tried to caculate it but i came out with 300 and 200 how much should i feed them if they are both underweight and doing little to no excercize

@omgmeist Can you show us the calculations you were doing that got you the 300 and 200 values? Maybe we can help figure out what went wrong if we see what you were doing. As for what to feed, try a product like SafeChoice or Empower Boost as a supplement - you need to increase the calories they are taking in by feeding a high fat feed, or potentially just feeding more of the feed you already have. @OrlicaSK Absolutely agreed...technically horses should be eating pretty much continuously just as they do in the wild where they graze. Key is to use hay bags and/or spread hay out rather than dropping a whole flake as this lengthens the time the horse is eating.
