The interviewer even speaks of LL ending other rapper's careers. Having clout isn't the same as having talent. I'm sure that a little research would show that even some of the WORST rappers have outsold the likes of Canibus and Royce da 5'9".

Don't be fooled by my comment. I'm 32. I own a copy of "Krush Groove" and I have multiple LL albums on my iPhone ( his older joints). I'm not referring to LL's career as a whole, just the last 65 to 75% of it. And EVERYBODY in the game claims to rep hip-hop. Plenty of artists love it just as much as LL. Yet, at the end of the day, they're not on the same level. Battle-rappin ( which is what Canibus and LL were doin) isn't about who's been around the longest. Listen to "let's go". Kool Moe Dee

LL USED to represent hip-hop. LL now reps himself. He's long been concerned with makin himself look good for women more than makin sure he continues to show true prowess in his craft. Look at Jay-Z and NAS. They've been in the game since the early to mid ninties and still go HARD. By the time LL had this many years, he'd long switched from skilled lyricist to "lip-licker extraodinaire". The OLD LL was off the hook with his, but once having the crown doesn't guarantee you'll retain it.
