  • This is so adorable :)

It was in my recommended videos and i'm so glad I watched it!

My mother used to sing this song to me as a lullaby when i was younger :)

  • I remember this from the Kodak TV commercials and I think it was The Brother Four or the Lettermen who sang it but never heard Nanci Griffith sing it. Thank you for sharing it. Darling child and video. My three are nearly grown and the years flew by.

  • Beautiful work! I am a stepmother who raised three children whose mother had died of cancer at age 34. Regrettably, they are all estranged from their father and me despite efforts to heal the family. We had videos like this made from original 8mm. film, but you have done it so beautifully I had to compliment you. Warm regards, @BonusGrandmother Ellen Kimball

  • Amazing job, and a lot of great photos and movie clips! Well done.

But no pictures of her grown up?

  • You have an adorable daughter. I heard this song many years ago and Nanci Griffith is my favorite version. I am sniffling right now. My boys are both grown up and I have a baby grandson. Life goes fast.

  • Loved the video. It made me cry. My daughter and i danced to this song at her wedding for the father daughter dance, only to the perry como version though. Alotta of people cryed. Made me feel like i picked the right song. BEAUTIFUL SONG!!!!! Thanx for posting:):):):):)

  • pretty girl

  • This is a very beautiful video.

Can someone please tell me who's covering this song in this video? What a great voice. I have to know. (Is it "NG"? who's that?)

  • The song is sung by Nanci Griffith and the beautiful words written by Malvina Reynolds, Harry Belafonte, & Allen Greene.

    All the best

  • @ob14u I love this song so much and your clip is amazing. Have recently dug out my old nanci cd's and fallen in love with her voice & music all over again. Recently when my 13 year old daughter was being well, 13, instead of me having words and sounding likea broken record, I led her by the hand, put on this song and we both sat and cried. It let her know how much I love & cherish her. Now excuse me while I go and have a good cry!

  • Thanks, now you made a grown man cry. This is superb. I so love this song...one of my favorite NG tunes. Your video brings it to life. My daughter just turned 2 in July.

  • Thanks, you should have seen me putting it together :0)

  • I happened upon your video because I was looking for this song. You did an amazing job and how wonderful you have all those memories preserved. I don't even know you and that slideshow made me tear up. You can tell the love you have for your daughter.

My girls are 5 and 3, with another on the way. I am cherishing these moments because I know it goes by all to quick.

  • Thanks for your lovely comments, I appreciate it.

Your children are at a fantastic age, so full of wonder and I'm sure they ask you a thousand questions. Cherish this time, enjoy the world through their eyes and capture the images.

    All the best

  • Beautiful! Best wishes to your lovely, now-grown daughter, Elaine. My son is 29, my daugher 24. Both live very far from me now, as life and careers have taken them in new directions. You're right.... they're gone in the blink of an eye.
