@scoby1knoby I get it bud. I didn't pick up a guitar yesterday its wasn't meant to be critical Its nice that you take the time to post your videos but maybe you should say that they are not accurate to the true song and that its a general guidline.
good lesson. best one i've found on youtube. but i still dont get if the first chord is a 4 on the A string or a 5. because the 4 sounds all weird and cool but it sounds good with the D as well. does anyone know for sure?
What an excellent easy lesson mate, thank you so much! Do you know the chords for "is there anybody out there"? I love playin Floyd, Levellers, Christy moore, Ac/Dc and Zep. Keep up the good work son, cos there's more of us than them!! lol.
You are a great teacher, I have read some negatives on here, but keep doing what you do man, for those who are so negative, maybe "they" ought to be teaching...you have have been a big help to me, keep it up my friend...
this is my favorite song by PF. you did a grand cover my fellow floydian. I'm picking up a guitar soon, and this will be the first song I learn, because afterall, if it wasn't for Pink Floyd...I would have no interest in picking up a guitar and teaching myself to play. Long Live Pink Floyd!!
One of my favorite things about your teaching is that you let your guitar do the talkin' right away without excess verbiage. The humming lets us know where you're at with the song and brief string/fret numbers accompany any hard to see or unusual chords. You are to guitar lessons what the sentence "Brace yourself Brigett!" is to Irish foreplay. Keep up the great lessons! (My ear says you're correct on the voicing of the first chord)
why make it hard for ya self? it's so easy to play, any beginner would be scared off by this....that said, you're obviously a talented lad!! keep up the good work!
Here's a chord naming scheme I came up with that can help show the chords. The first number is the string, any number after it is the fret. (65 is 6 string 5th fret)
@scoby1knoby I gota agree with the 4th fret, the 5th fret would mean you are playing the same note as the adjacent open G string. But dont take my word for it, take it from the man himself.

But having said that, great video, helped me alot so thank you :)
@rebelbhoy1888 - I've got lots of books. The majority of them are wrong. Mostly they're written by by piano players looking for some extra cash. I'd go by what sounds right more than the printed commercial page. Good job on this Scoby! Thanks.
Great !! dis bloody song gets me straight to cloud nine.. Cant stop listening to this album, downloaded it @ DownloadMusic/./im , (remove the slashes) keepin listening to it wherever i go :)
magic m8 thanx. hope u dnt mind me sayn, but instead of an Em9th a 'simplified version' is just an Eminor. it sounds exactly the same and saves that bitch of a srtreach. brilliant help to me m8 thanx fe coatbridge.
Nice one mate been lookin for that cord after the seventh but everyone who plays it skips it but im meticulous and I can see you are a man of talent .

The first chord, IS definitely an Emadd9.
Here's a chord naming scheme I came up with that can help show the chords. The first number is the string, any number after it is the fret. (65 is 6 string 5th fret)
60-52-44-30-20-10 = Emadd9
60-50-42-30-22-10 = A7 (60-50-42-30-23-10 = A7sus4)
60-50-414-30-214-10 + 60-50-412-30-212-10 + 60-50-411-30-210-10
63-53-42-30-20-10 = CM7 52-44-34-23-12 = Bm 53-43-32-21-10 = FM7 55-45-34-23-10 = GM6

Must be an Em9 and a half then lol!! or Em/G maybe. I don't know but I know the chord itself is right.
